[IC] A twist of Realms

Vex slowly stood, one of her pockets moving before a bit of bandage floated over and wrapped up her small injury without her moving. She moved to turn around quietly, "You definitely have better interrogation skills than those Damn Hunters." Vex remarked, her expression unchanging from almost emotionless.

She held back her fear, if she showed fear, then it could go wrong. She just had to keep calm and not act on instinct for now.
"I'm guessing you're working for the Hunters then?" She started, turning around as he requested.

[Metatrooper]

Seeing her manipulate the piece of bandage without using her body surprised him. It's an incredibly useful and deadly ability if it was wielded correctly, he would have to keep a closer eye on her than he thought. After putting a pair of handcuffs on the girl, he replied to her comment: "You don't need to know." The mercenary owned a small rest house on the outskirts of town as he came here often. He could use the place to interrogate the girl. The armored man then led the girl out of the alleyway and into the street, before heading for the rest house.

Vex rolled her eyes but nodded, moving with the man.
When they neared the street, she used her powers to pull up her hood again- Not for her safety, but for the Mercenary's.
She had companions around the city that would not hesitate to create a scene to get her out of danger, and she didn't want to risk that with a man like this.

Something told her he was different, something told her there was more to this than just a bounty given to him by the Hunters. Others would have just completely tried to kill her outright, but this one was kind enough to take her out of the city before doing any action.
Something crossed her mind after a moment of silence. "Are you going to torture me?" She asked calmly, his next words would make or break her attitude of co-operation.
She wanted him to be reasonable, she would help him if she could. If not... It would be more blood on her hands; which wasn't something out of the norm anymore.

[Metatrooper]

The mercenary saw her put her hood back up, but didn't do anything. Drawing less attention was a good thing, though perhaps she must have had her own reasons for doing it. As they neared the rest house, the girl asked him a question. The armored man stayed silent for a moment before responding in his usual deadpan voice. "It depends, are you willing to fully cooperate?" He had planned to interrogate her when they arrived, first through non-lethal means, and then torture if she really wasn't going to talk. Maybe it was a good thing that she asked that, perhaps she was willing to spill her intel.

Several minutes later, they would arrive at the safe house. It was a small, concrete, two-storey building that was in relatively good shape considering the other decrepit buildings surrounding it. "Get in." he told her, before following her inside and locking the door behind them. The room they entered looked like a storage area. Several boxes took up a large amount of space, with some half-opened and with weapons inside. There were also a few chairs and desks lying around, and two yellow lights that illuminated the area.

Vex smirked softly, "It depends on what you need. But if it means I won't get injured than I will try my hardest to help." She started.
When she entered the house she looked around, tilting her head slightly.
"Nice." She started, "Better than living on the streets I guess." She finished before she glanced back at the man.

She tilted her head at him, "Well, we're here in the confined safe area." She said, "What important information do the Hunters want from me before I'm killed? There are no other Vampires that live in the city- A few Fae scattered here and there. A few werebeasts and a couple mages."

[Metatrooper]

"They didn't ask for that, but thank you for the information anyway. That's something those Hunters might want to know as well." His target seemed awfully calm for someone whose days are numbered. It was unusual, was she planning something? Did she manage to call in reinforcements to try and save her? Could she kill him right this instant and get away like it was nothing? These were some of the questions going through his head right now, but he had to focus on the job. The armored man then asked in a cold, intimidating voice, "Give me information on this so-called lich that you've been collaborating with. I want everything."

A frown formed on Vex's lips when she listened to the mercenaries first sentence; but it was quickly pulled back to an expressionless look.
She studied the man, it was hard to read inside of the suit he was wearing. She narrowed her eyes before he continued talking.
Her eyes suddenly widened at the mention of her working with the Lich.
"They told you WHAT?" She said, sounding offended and startled. "Oh those fucking..." She trailed off, biting her tongue.

She turned her head away from the man as she tried to settle her anger before she sighed, turning her head back to the male after a few moments.
"I'd ask if you trusted or believed me, but it sounds like you believe Bella more than me." She said, hissing at the name, "I doubt she could have charmed you with that visor of yours. I don't understand how she manages to hide everything from those damned Hunters." She trailed off, she forgot she didn't answer the question but her emotions got the better of her.

[Metatrooper]

As the mercenary listened to her emotional rant, he began fully connecting the dots for himself. His client, or Bella as the girl knew her as, was already very suspicious from the start, from the lack of her basic information, to the lack of any info about a target that they hired him to kill. He couldn't be completely sure however, she might still be lying to him, he had to be sure. "Based on what you just said, it sounds like my client had lied to me, and I don't like being lied to. But how do I know that what you've said is true, and that you're not just making shit up to get me to let you go?"

Vex listened to him before she sighed. "Bella is incredibly charismatic, good at tempting others to end others fate." She said disgruntledly, before she sighed a bit more.
"I don't know how to make you believe me." She started, "Although, I do know about the Lich she's talking about. I have no intent to help him in any way- I want him dead as much as the Hunters do. But as a lone Vampire with dwindling numbers of my kind as it is, I can't do too much."

[Metatrooper]

"You can do the next best thing then, tell me more about Bella and the lich. Who are they? How much power do they have? Anything that might be useful to me. If you do so, I might just consider letting you go." The armored man had actually hoped that she had some way of telling the truth, it would make everything easier for him. Alas, the best thing he could do know was squeeze as much info from her as he could. Who knows? She might even persuade him to turn against Bella.

Vex's nose twitched at the very mention of Bella's name.
"Bella is the head of the Hunters; as you already know." She started, moving to cross her arms but unable to do so due to the handcuffs. "Please take these off, I'm not a fan of being restrained. If you do so, I'll tell you everything I know about the Lich, and all you need to about Bella."

[Metatrooper]

Taking off her handcuffs does sound like a bad idea, however, she has already shown that she is capable of moving objects without using her hands, and if she could kill or hurt him, she probably would have already done so. Nevertheless, you could never be too careful around others. As he went to remove the cuffs, the mercenary also pulled out a pistol from his holster and pointed it at her. It beared some resemblance to ordinary firearms but was also something Vex had never seen before.

"Alright, now talk."

Vex flexed her wrists slightly before she crossed her arms. She watched the Mercenary with a furrowed brow.
"Right." She started, "Bella is a Vampire. She is also my older sister. She's a lot stronger than I am, and I'm pretty sure she is working with the Lich." She continued, moving to reach into her bag and unclipped her bottle to move to pull the cap off.
"Bella has charmed all of her Hunters into thinking she's Human. If she can't charm you she'll make you think she's human by hiding everything."

[Metatrooper]

The mercenary tensed up and readied to pull the trigger as he saw her arm reach into her bag, only to relax as she pulled out a bottle. What the girl was saying did make sense at least, it would explain why his client was acting that way. "If what you say is true, then why did she hire me to kill the lich as well?"

[SporkoBug]

Vex moved to take a swig of the bottle, mumbling something under her breath before she shrugged. "Getting rid of lose ends that she can't do herself. If she goes and kills the Lich on her own then it shows she's something to contend with." She closed the bottle again before putting her bottle back on her bag. "Or she's sending him more people to kill and use as power conduits to make more Vampires for her to fight and make the Hunters look like a good industry."

[Metatrooper]

"I see." The mercenary said blankly, seemingly deep in thought. It seems that the lich is quite a powerful entity, and is also probably how Bella got the unusually high-tech weapons. Trying to gain favour with Bella by doing more jobs for her would be a slow and difficult task. Plus, she probably wouldn't give tech that advanced to someone like him, preferring to use it to further her own self-interests. The armored man stood still and contemplated for a minute or two, all the while staying unmoving and silent on the outside. He then snapped back into reality as he put his pistol away and asked the girl, "How would you like your own bodyguard?"

"So I hope this stops you from potentially killing-" She froze up at his next words. She blinked, trying to comprehend what he just said.
"Wait. What?" She asked, tilting her head at the man.

"You're offering to help me after accepting a job from my sister?" She asked, trying to comprehend what he just said.

[Metatrooper]

"Lying to get me to do a job for you is dishonourable. I'm not obligated to do anything for you if you don't even tell me the truth about what I'm doing." This was part of his code when accepting jobs. He wouldn't accept if any part of the job went against his own personal code. Plus, the girl could help him with his own personal mission. "So, what'll it be?"

[SporkoBug]

"I.. That would be... Fantastic; Honestly." She said with a small smile, "Although, it would probably be a good idea to take down the Lich if we can. Could limit Bella's fucking power so I can get a good strike at her and hopefully disband the Hunters." She rambled, shaking her head in anger before she looked up to the Mercenary.

"I don't believe we've formally introduced, I'm Vex." She said, she believed that the hostility between them had faded, her sister calling him to kill her backfired; bad for Bella- Good for Vex.

[Metatrooper]

The mercenary had no ill will towards the girl. After all, this was just business to him. But now it just got personal, he had an actual chance at finding a way home, and this girl, Vex, could lead him to it. After she introduced herself, he replied: "Mako, Mako Te."
