[IC] A twist of Realms

Vex smiled gently at Mako. "I like that name, it's not one you hear often." She said before she fully relaxed, moving to place her bag on the ground.
"What did Bella offer you to do this?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

[Metatrooper]

"1000 platinum coins, a third of which are already in my account, and a cache of unusually high-tech weapons." He told Vex.

Vex gave a whistle at the amount, "Fuck thats a lot." She said with a small sigh, "Although, you got nothing in writing, right? That's the thing with Vampires. You need to have shit in paper for them to work with you." She said with a frown.

Vex sighed and shook her head, "The weapons were probably from the Lich; he's not like other Lich's. He's... from another time." She said with a small shudder, "I feel sad that he's away from where he's suppose to be, but at the same time he's... a menace."

[Metatrooper]

"No, it was an oral agreement." he told her. She had the same thoughts as him about the weapons at least, it had to had come from someone with large amounts of power, like the lich. Mako was caught by surprise again as she mentioned the true nature of the lich. Someone who was somewhere they didn't belong, just like him. "Anything else you want to ask?"

"Oral or not, our line of Vampires have a bullshit curse about written agreements, that's why she doesn't make her clients write anything down." She said with a wave of her hand, not that it mattered now.
She listened to him as he asked if he had anything more to ask, she hesitated before she looked around. "Is... This where you live?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

[Metatrooper]

"No." Even though they were now allies, he would only tell her what she needed to know. If he said anything more it might come back to bite him in the ass.

Vex hummed slightly after he bluntly replied to her question. She swayed on her feet slightly before she tilted her head slightly.
"So. Should we head off tomorrow? Get ready and pack and stuff for today and then head off just before sunrise tomorrow to get away from any Hunters tailing us because I have a feeling Bella doesn't trust you as of yet." She said with a small frown, "Unless you intend to trick her into thinking that you'll use me as a meat shield in terms of going against the Lich..."

[Metatrooper]

"Where do you plan on heading to exactly?" Mako asked. He was still thinking of a concrete plan about what to do, since this job had pulled a complete 180 on him. She was right though, he had no doubt that Bella would send someone to keep an eye on him, but Vex did also propose a good idea. He could claim to be using her to track down the lich, at least, he hoped that would get the Hunters off his back for a while.

[SporkoBug]

"Heading to as in for tonight or heading to as in finding the Lich?" She asked with a tilt of her head.
She paused for a moment and furrowed her brow and sighed. "Because either way, No... No idea." She sighed, closing her eyes thinking.

[Metatrooper]

"What?" He said, with a twinge of anger and surprise in his voice. Mako at least thought that Vex would have at least some semblance of an idea of where to go. He stayed silent for several moments, finishing up his plan, before speaking. "Fine. I have... a place, somewhat far from here that we can use. Spend the night here and we leave first thing in the morning, just like you said."

Vex flinched at his anger, "I know the general area of where the Lich could be, but not the exact location." She said, before she blinked as he mentioned about a place, "I mean, Only if you want me to stay with you. If not I can find a place to hitch safely for the night.."
She turned her head as she started to hear the pitterpatter of rain on the roof, indicating it had started raining, which caused Vex's expression to change from surprise to mild worry as she thought of staying outside for the night.

[Metatrooper]

Well, at least she knew something. It was better than nothing after all. As he also heard the sound of rain pouring in outside, he said to her "You can stay here for the night. I have another room upstairs that you can use. Follow me." Mako then walked past her and entered a doorway on the side of the room which led to a stairway. If she followed him upstairs she would see a hallway with one door to their side, and two doors right across from each other at the end of the hall. He walked to the end and turned left, opening the door to reveal a room with a single, ordinary bed and several empty boxes in the corner of the room.

Vex followed quickly, staying quiet as she looked around. There was a moment of silence before she breathed in, "Its a nice place." She said, partially hoping to get more conversation. "But thank you for this." She said with a slow close of her eyes.

[Metatrooper]

"If you need anything else, I'm in the room across. Do not come in without knocking." He emphasized his last sentence, it sounded like he really didn't want anyone to barge in. After her reply he would head into his room and close the door behind him, leaving Vex to her own business.

Vex nodded at his words, "Thank you." She said before she entered her room, closing the door quietly and stretched slightly, removing her shoes and moving towards the bed.
Vampires didn't need to actually sleep, but she rather liked the feeling. She settled in the bed with the bag by her side and pulled out her diary and a pen, making the pen float with her powers.

[Metatrooper]

Mako entered his own room, which was just as, if not, even emptier than Vex's. He sat down on the bed and placed both hands on his helmet. The hissing sound of air escaping the suit could be heard as he pulled of the helmet and set it down beside him. He put his hand on his forehead and let out a sigh. Sure, he had put himself in a tight situation betraying his original client, but now, there was a chance. A chance for him to go back home, and he was prepared to do anything to make that happen.

Vex moved her pen back to her hand and closed the book quietly.
She gave a small sigh to herself and slowly closed her eyes, she calmed herself. She was worried, afraid even, of what was going to happen.
Why was it that her sister was out to get her? Well, she knew the answer to that question but why now? Why has she tried to gun her down now? Nothing added up, why is she doing this...

Vex opened her eyes and shook her head, before she tried to settle down to go to sleep.

[Metatrooper]

Mako removed his cloak and a metal, backpack-like object from his back before laying down on the bed, still clad in full body armor. It wasn't too comfortable, but he'd rather be safe than sorry. Even while trying to sleep, he was still formulating plans and reviewing scenarios in his mind. A few minutes later though, he would give in to the exhaustion and sleep. But he wasn't going to leave anything to chance at this point. Mako was going to get home, one way or another.

Vex mulled everything over as she slowly fell asleep. She knew she wouldn't sleep well, too many things bubbled through her head.

Vex woke before sunrise, the rain seemed to have stopped. She moved to the nearest window to look out, watching the fog flood over the city. It was silent, this was usually when Vex would walk through the city and checking up on her friends.
She furrowed her brow, sure Mako was essentially working with her now but... Would he mention her friends to Bella? She risked losing them.

[Metatrooper]

Mako woke up the next morning a little later than Vex. He got up and stretched for a bit, sleeping in his armor was tolerable but not entirely comfortable. He then put on his helmet, the metal backpack-like object, and his cloak before leaving the room. He would then knock on Vex's door right across the hall. "We're going." he said, before heading down to the lower floor.
