[IC] Champions of Engine City

Lucina looked around at Elastik running up to her and thought to herself that he better not be asking her to go back in to the infected zone. She was instead surprised to see him cut off his right sleeve and hold it out to her. Transforming back to her human form she gingerly took the fabric from the man in front of her. Holding it in her hands she felt the texture before wrapping it around her hips making one of the shortest mini skirts of all time. Then she looked up at him, "So how long will it take to turn into an outfit?" and then she raised an eyebrow and added, "Or am I just supposed to go around looking like this? It would actually be smarter if you just wore this and I took your outfit." She said with a teasing smile.

Elastik returned the smile, "Well it shouldn't take too long, about half an hour. It'll remold itself into an outfit based on your shape and powers." Elastik backed up a little and modeled his own suit. "I mean I'm fairly sure it won't be like this, but still it should work out well enough." Elastik blushed a little at his own dorky modeling skills, looking back up at Lucina. "Well I mean... thanks... by the way... for saving me I mean." Elastik stated feeling really stupid talking like this. "Maybe you and me could go patrol some time? Like together I don't just mean like at the same time or something like in different areas." Elastik quietly spent a moment berating himself for looking like such a complete idiot. Was he really this stupid?

Watching Elastik model his hero outfit she rose an eyebrow, "I'm not exactly one for superhero look but at least this way I want have to steal any clothes." She then shrugged at him saying thank you, "You sounded like you needed help and I would be a total ass to leave people who need help to those melted things." She didn't really see it as something that she needed to be thanked for, it was more like she was just the right person in the right place. Watching him trip over his own words, Lucina couldn't help but smile slightly,being partly naked seemed to make this happen to some people. "I don't do patrols," She replied simply, "I'm not exactly what you guys are. I'm not super or a hero. The only reason I helped was because I didn't want to see innocents ripped to shreds."

"Well hey, don't we all?" Elastik noted, gesturing to the large group of people he helped survive the ordeal with, some of whom his not gotten to know a great deal. He glanced back at Lucina with a bit of a frown. "Well... I mean you did save people, which is what heroes typically do. Plus you have powers which by nature could be constructed as being 'super'. I mean if you want to dice it another way sure... but at the very least you're doing the right thing." Elastik told her as he gave her a smile and a nod. "I mean if you aren't a patrol kind of person. We could just make it more along the lines of destroying the evil dastery pizza monster from Giuseppe's, then keep a close eye out on that mean ol' movie thats playing at the cineplex. I treat on both." Elastik said, teasing a bit.

"Yeah but I don't go around in a brightly colored outfit looking for 'super villains' and to be known. I didn't come here to save people, just to see what all the fuss was about." Lucina really didn't feel like should could ever be considered a hero especially considering the stuff she had to do before. The idea of this guy asking her to eat pizza and watch a movie with him made her raise her eyebrow, "I'll be fine. I can take care of myself." That was the exact point her stomach wanted to point out to her, and the world, that she hadn't eaten in a day and shape shifting made her really hungry. Quickly trying to hide her stomach's grumble she added, "And where the hell would you hide money in that ridiculous outfit anyway."

"It has secret compartments..." Elastik quickly pointed out, pulling a small pocket out where his wallet was. "I mean I didn't really say all that for like... I meant..." Elastik couldn't figure out, was she not picking up the hint? Was this a subtle 'gtfo' he wasn't picking up on. "You know, I mean its not like I'm saying I'm going to help you with pizza and movies its more... you know... hanging out... doing stuff..." Elastik was running out of ways to describe exactly what he was talking about. "Stuff of a like leisure stuff like nature... stuff..."

He was starting to get the sneaking suspicion he was in fact a complete and utter idiot. That and he might as well bail on this moment while he still had his dignity (or whatever was left of it) in tact. "Eh you know what never mind. Just... thanks again. I need to go get some stuff out of my place while I still have a chance." With that Elastik started to walk away, getting a plan in his head together on how to get to and bring back his personal possessions safely.

Staring at Elastik with a confused look upon her face she couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going on in that head of his. If he wasn't pitying her then what was he trying to do? It was obvious he didn't need to pay her back and now he just stood there talking to himself like an idiot. Seeing what Lucina only could guess was a look of disappointment across the man's face as he said that he was going to get his stuff she sighed, "You really shouldn't go in there with all those melted creatures and if you really want pizza, I'll come with you." He must really want that pizza, Lucina thought to herself wondering why but honestly she didn't care too much. A hot meal sounded really good about now and if she was in luck this nano whatever would have finished making her outfit by then.

Elastik stopped in his tracks because of Lucina, now he was starting to get the sneaking suspicion that he wasn't stupid after all. Slowly he turned back to Lucina, his head almost completely turning around on him first to look at her before the rest of his body followed suit. "Uh... no I'm not like... going to get pizza from my house." Elastik stated pointing in the general direction he was going to go. "No that was my house you guys got me out of... and I have a bunch of stuff in it. That's like mine. I was going to get it since its not cheap stuff." Elastik couldn't help but wonder what, if anything, was going on in Lucina's head when he said all this.

"No see the pizza and movie was an offer for another time. Like in a few days or something. I wouldn't even be in costume..." Elastik noted as he was hoping MAYBE she'd pick up on the clues. "No see I was asking to go out on like... a date?" There, he put it out there for her to understand in plain English. "Right now though, I need to go get my personal belongings out of my house since I can't really live there anymore."

Watching Elastik's head turn before the rest of him did was a bit of a disconcerting thing. It made Lucina wonder how the hell that would even feel but that thought was changed when he started to say he wasn't going to get pizza from his house. Did he think she was stupid? Of course she knew that. There wouldn't be any warm pizza in a dump like that anyway. She knew he meant a pizza at a restaurant or something. Pizza that wasn't stolen or thrown in the trash.... her thoughts were now stuck so firmly on the idea of warm pizza that she could choose that her mind didn't get unstuck till Elastik awkwardly said 'a date?'.

Shaking her head and the pizza thoughts out of her mind she looked at him in shock. A date?! Why would someone be asking her out on a date? Aren't those the silly things where you hold hands and drink the same milkshake with two straws and are supposed to get dressed up in girly dresses and.....

"You don't need personal belongings." She ended up saying. It was the only thing she could honestly think to say.

Elastik was now feeling the awkwardness of this situation become so thick he could smother it on pancakes. He just wanted to leave, get as far away from this, and her, as humanly possible. “Well for me yeah they are kind of important, they’re for my job.” Elastik told her as he turned, not even wanting to stick around and see what kind of craziness comes out of her. “Thanks again…” Elastik called back to her, stretching his legs over the quarantine wall and stretching around off of rooftops.

As he was able to keep to the rooftops eventually Elastik got back to his place. Slipping in he grabbed his guitar, a decent sized amp, his turntables in their holding bag, and a laptop. As well as much clothes as he could muster. Needing to turn an arm into a massive bag to carry it all. Elastik started to leave out the giant hole before stopping himself. Glancing back at what was his place, seeing pictures from when he was younger, some of the awards he got for his musical talents. Thinking back to various moments, this was his first place out of college. A lot of money was saved through the years, resulting in him eating a lot of ramen noodles to keep his savings up. Elastik could only look on, feeling himself get sick at the thought of everything happening. He wanted to stop himself, get more of these things. He traveled up to his room, finding a not-too-large suitcase that he tried to get some of his favorite pictures and awards into. Awkwardly carrying it with him as he got out.

Having to get himself through the city with all the slime monsters was annoying but doable. He kept his legs long and as fat as possible. The ground he covered was quick, and whatever monster did get close to him usually got a massive foot to it’s grill for the trouble. The fact Elastik not only had to do this, but that he did it because of Tox, someone who he had a lot of trouble with in the past. It all boiled up inside of him, Elastik wasn’t an emotional guy, but this was all making him furious. As he got back into the fine city, hurrying along so as little people as possible would see Elastik looking like a thief. He was able to finally get to the apartment building he knew Fastlane lived at. He had to do some work, breaking and entering which he was familiar enough with. Stretch himself under the door, unlock, open said door, let himself on in.

Elastik sighed, not sure where he was going to stay in the modest apartment. Just putting his things away for now into a corner so he could collapse onto the couch in the apartment. Sighing so deeply from the day he ended up deflating himself flat. He glanced over at the sleeve he cut up for that Lucina chick. It had reformed in the meantime, which was good. Peeling the top of his suit off Elastik slipped back into Andrew, wanting nothing more than to shower and forget.

[Omega Man]

The man called Apex by his employers was pissed. The girl with the big IQ had managed to escape him and he was wrecking the area within the dust cloud. A few of the melt men caught his rage and were torn apart by his powers and his secondary power took effect as he shifted violently into various civilians he had killed before shifting into one of the melt men he had just decapitated. As the dust began moving out on the wind in the air Fastlane approached the mercenary not knowing he had been followed back into the quarantine zone by a few of the other heroes.

"You smell like purple!" the violent shifter screamed with his melt man appearance creating bladed like weapons out of his arms and mass.

The speedster with the twin lines running down his suit dodged several attacks before the shifter landed a few strikes taking the guy off his feet. The black and yellow clad Mal was out of his element and could barely see through the dust still in the area. Thankfully he could here more help on the way as the crazy Apex continued to push the attack. Fastlane ran back in close and threw a dozen or so punches and managed to connect with at least four, but the melt man looking adversary was tougher than he looked.

"Since when did the mutagen give melt men these kinds of powers?" Mal shouted to nobody in particular as he witnessed all of his attacks had little effect on the man who clearly had enhanced physical attributes.

"THAT'S NOT ONE OF THE MELTED PEOPLE! I SAW IT CHANGE THE WAY IT LOOKED!" screamed a lone survivor on top of a nearby rooftop camped out waiting for a rescue before firing a single shot from a rifle.
