How much longer do you think they should stay outside the capital too? I think the only other event I've thought of for this part is when they run into a soldier who tells them that the prince is "dead"

Hmm, yeah I know we have the soldier thing planned. Then this rebels. Perhaps they end up a few days with the rebels? Moving from district to district because the rebels would still be on the run from the Capital now their efforts are more aggressive.

Unless there is anything else you want to happen outside of the Capital before they return?

That sounds good to me. We can have them be stuck with the rebels for a few days, then cross paths with the soldiers after that. I think all of that combined will convince Cas that he has to go back to the capital, so they could go quickly to get there

Cas isn't great at handling intimate situations xD He knows he's being stupid, but since he doesn't have a whole lot of experience to go by, it's hard for him to control himself

His train of thoughts went a very different direction than Iris's but it all works to the same effect xD
He's mostly scared about getting her pregnant, since it would ruin both of them because he's the heir to the throne, and she's not even a high born. Atlas would be absolutely livid.
