@Blackmist16He looks fine, but old for a goblin. As such, he probably depends on magic instead of physical abilities. Yes, you can give him an animal companion.
As for what happened, the gist of it is that there may be a war between tribes coming soon. Mostly, the plot follows the lives and times of individual characters and their journey. For example, my male character is just starting to come into his own as a warrior and hunter, and my female character is about to give birth to her first litter.
That's pretty much the "classic" role for male and female goblins, with a very gradual selecting of practices and traits determined by which are most conducive to survival and reproduction. This means they value strong, potent males and beautiful, fertile females. Of course, not every character fits the mold, although I suppose my two main characters are something of a baseline from which comparisons can be made.
