He also tends to wear a black knitcap, which covers his furry black ears, and a pair of headphones wired to an Ipod which he keeps in his hoodie. And of course, it’s rare for one to find him without his quiver at his back and his compound bow slung over his shoulder.

Personal

Personality: Rinishi is quite a socially awkward individual, due to his upbringing. Having little experience with people outside of his captors and sister, there are certain things he doesn’t understand in some social settings - but he’s not a dull lad, and can usually catch on well enough. Though expressing feelings is something he has always been very bad at.

Also due to his past, he’s a very cautious person. He’s slow to trust others, and doesn’t usually engage in conversation unless spoken to first - and even then it can be difficult to get him talking. He’s not overly introverted, per se, but he may have somewhat of a stranger issue.

His cautiousness carries over into more volatile situations as well. When undertaking missions of any sort, Rinishi is very attentive, valuing patience and planning over any ‘guns blazing’ approach. He prefers to take in a good view of the situation from a vantage point, and provide valuable information to his allies while covering them with his admittedly impressive bowmanship - if stealth is no option. He is not, however, above engaging in melee combat, and is actually quite good at it due to his magic.

Notably, Rinishi’s morals are not what one would expect. Not being raised on the ideals of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in the traditional sense, he doesn’t really seem to mind breaking the law or doing some things others would take great caution in doing.

Backstory:

• Rinishi, alongside his sister, were apparently orphans at a young age.
• They spent a great portion of their lives within some sort of facility, after having been kidnapped.
• Being that they were so young when taken, the twins have little recollection of anything before their time in the facility. Faint remembrances of unmatched names and faces are all that remain.
• Scientists subjected him and his sister to several experiments, all with varying degrees of success.
• At age thirteen, their animals parts had appeared after one experiment. It was deemed a success.
• They were put into observation for two years before being deemed stable.
• Subsequently trained for fighting with the goal of making efficient and effective hunters for apparent use in Zero Time scenarios.
• Members of the facility attempted to brainwash them into being loyal soldiers but failed - but rather noticeably altering Rinishi's ability to trust others.
• The facility was raided by the Isamu family two months ago. None of the scientists were caught, but Rena and Rinishi were left behind.
• Maylis decided to let them into Isamu territory while they decide who they will ally themselves to.

Magic

Medium - Novice - Talented

Rinishi and his sister are somewhat of an oddity. Due to their experiences, and the experimentations that were afflicted upon them in their past, their magic has seemed to express itself in a rather different manner. For Rin, it comes in the form of a felid likeness - meaning, he possesses the ears, tail, and some behaviors of a cat, even when he isn’t using his magic. His features resemble, more specifically, a melanistic Jaguar.

When is comes to actually using his magic - it takes the form of shapeshifting; Rinishi is able to shape his body into the likeness of other creatures. Unlike his sister, though, Rin finds it much more comfortable to remain in his more humanoid state - and performing a full transformation has so far been impossible for him. This has, however, left him able to train for more minute changes - letting him change multiple parts of his body into different likenesses at once with more fluidity.

  • Liquid Leap - Rinishi’s ability to shift the matter of his body is very rarely used to such a degree that this technique entails. But turning his body, or part of it, into a thin mass of liquid flesh and bone, he can consume a large amount of stamina to reshape himself - for a very short amount of time. This most notably can used to avoid blows that are guaranteed to cause disabling amounts of damage, or to reshape lighter wounds into sound flesh - or even to bypass obstacles in a sticky situation.

Personality: Rena is a cautious individual due to the circumstances surrounding her past. She doesn't trust people easily because the last time that had happened, she and her brother were locked in a facility. Her cautiousness can be too much, nearly even bordering paranoia in some cases. She's usually on alert for the most part and keeps an eye out on how people act - essentially being observing and trying to piece together how they work so she can predict how they would move and act.

Aggression comes naturally to her, easily agitated by anyone who seems remotely dangerous to her and her brother's welfare. She would be willing to throw hands with anyone. And this carries over to when she's forced into a fight. Preferring to always get up close and personal - shifting into a larger animal to fight. More often than not, Rena doesn't usually make any plans prior to when she attacks. This leads to some compromising situations that can be avoided if someone is there to control her. Usually, that falls on Rinishi.

When she's comfortable around people, Rena is a lot more easygoing. This is most evident when she's with her brother. She's a lot more mischevious than she lets on and relatively curious about anything and everything. Rena is very expressive during these times - giving bright smiles and laughs. Due to the results of the experimentation, she and her brother had manifested their magic in a rather strange way. To her, it manifested in the form of vulpine likeness - ears, tail and fox behavior are always present on her form and she has no way to hide them. Oddly enough, Rena could manifest more tails - akin to the mythical Kitsune.

Her vulpine likeness allows the passive enhanced senses that come with the animal. Even in her semi-human form, she retains the flexibility and agility of a fox - able to compare to the most skilled contortionists. She's also gifted in many activities that foxes are skilled at - such as sneaking, running and climbing. Like other foxes, she has a magnetic sense, able to locate North through a darkened spot in her vision. This allows her to gauge distance very easily.

Her true magic lies in her shapeshifting - the ability to be able to transform into other creatures. Unlike her brother, she is much more comfortable in her animal form - hence her ability to fully shift into another animal. This, however, restricts her to being only one animal at once until she finds out a way to be able to meld two or more animal forms together. She's been able to shift from one form to another in quick succession.

Saori stands at a respectable 165cm (5' 5"), and weighs in at 55kg (121lbs). While she's not completely lacking in the curvature department, one can easily do better than what she does have; a BWH ratio of 17-15-16 if measured in inches and 43-38-41 if measured in centimeters. Saori can always be seen wearing brown trousers, a black sleeveless top and her signature labcoat. She also puts on a pair of blue gloves when she's conducting her experiments.

_Personality:

Saori is a relatively mature middle-aged woman who believes in the pursuit of science through and through. She doesn't place as much value on magic as most anyone else, and holds a steadfast opinion that magic should be used to advance science, despite popular opinion being of the exact opposite. Perhaps this is just her compensating for the fact that she had always been a poor mage. That's not something she can deny. But even then, she has a right to try and provide what the Rikimaru Family wants in her own way.

While she may seem to be able to collect herself when presenting her findings to whoever she may need to report to, those who've accompanied her even a single time whilst she was conducting her experiments have seen just how terrifying she can be around when she lets herself loose. Put simply, she is a maniac and a sadist, who often times loses herself in blood-lust, and bellows out a psychotic, almost demonic laugh every time she does. She'll also gladly throw whatever small nugget of good conscience one might hope she'd have to the wind in the name of progress. This is what separates Saori from the common man or woman; she's not bound by what's considered "holy", "good" or "decent". Justice has a nasty habit of getting in the way of results, after all.

As far as personal objectives go, Saori does in fact have her own ultimatum... in that she wants the throne for herself. She wants to make herself nigh unstoppable before Akio dies and she has a chance to be elected as the next leader, and she believes that, with plenty of experimentation and all the time she could ask for, she can achieve that goal and then some. For now, however, she'll settle for the one thing a big family like the Rikimarus can really provide her if nothing else; protection from the law. Because the police are annoying. And may or may not have reason to throw her in a loony bin. And will most certainly toss away the key to her cell.

_{Back Story:}

Saori Asakura never had the potential to be a promising mage. She was always looked down upon and bullied by others for her lack of talent. Back then, all she could really do was endure whatever nightmares would turn into reality and accept the idea that she was a failure. But somewhere in the back of her mind, Saori imagined what it would be like if those same people that made her life hell were to be under her thumb. Eventually, Saori turned to science, and used that as a basis to hone whatever limited skills she had. However, that still wasn't enough. As her experiments began to go awry, Saori would land herself with unwelcome guests in the form of police. They would always arrived unannounced, harass her with questions she didn't want to answer and watch her squirm for a lie she could use to get them to go away. And even when they chose to, they what just repeat that process over and over again.

Enough was enough. By the very second that last drop-in by the police was over, Saori immediately set to work, researching all three of the main families to see who would offer her the most protection so that she could return to her experiments in peace. She originally laid eyes on the Akechi Family, but they came off as too elitist for her liking, judging from the information she had. Whereas the Isamu Family was more than welcoming of almost everyone, but Saori couldn't exactly trust how competent their warriors were. That left the Rikimaru Family. Their motto seemed to be all about power, and while it may have seemed an arrogant train of thought to have, Saori supposed she didn't see the harm of putting them to the test. So she did. With the demonstration of her blood golems going without a hitch, and the promise of even more powerful minions being at the disposal of their leader Akio, Saori was welcomed into the Rikimaru Family without so much of a second though. Now it would just be a matter of proving her worth and earning her keep.

Saori specializes in the creation of serums, poisons and antidotes. She can transmute most any combination of chemicals together to make whatever she might need, and she can also transmute whatever foul concoction she's mixed together directly into any object so it will affect anyone who touches it, without it affecting that object's physical appearance or giving off any strange odor. This ability of Saori's is perfect for sneaking a love potion in an apple or a sandwich, or paralyzing anyone who tries to open a door she's locked.

The other magical ability Saori is renowned for is the ability to create blood golems. While these golems require blood as a foundation, they can be "customized" to grow flesh, muscle and bone to suit Saori's needs or desires. Each individual golem can inflict as much physical damage as a dozen men, and the vast majority of them are at least twice their size. Saori contains a multitude of these blood golems inside vials for her own protection. The slightest chip in any of these vials will cause the golem inside to ooze out and grow to their full size. Saori has done her best to train her golems well, but they tend to rely on their own survival instincts first and foremost.

A certain grimoire that Saori borrowed from a certain Necromantia has even allowed her to dabble in necromancy, allowing her to revive any test subject that had died during a specific experiment she was hoping to repeat. While the grimoire that allows for such magic is in Saori's possession right now, it will only be a matter of time before its owner arrives and announces her intention to collect.

_Strengths:

• In the off-chance that a member of the Rikimaru Family have been poisoned, one can count on Saori to rush to the victim's aid, armed with the knowledge of the perfect recipe for an antidote. She can also identify the exact poison used and replicate it with ease, if only just so the poisoner would receive a taste of his or her own medicine.
• Saori can quite easily throw a vial containing one of her blood golems directly at an enemy's face if she just so happens to be in an exceptionally sadistic mood. The glass that the vials themselves are made of are perfect for blinding someone, and if the golem inside just so happens to be heavy enough, that might just be one opposing person out of commission right from the start.
• The blood Saori uses for her blood golems can be from any animal or combination of animals. She can use human blood since humans are technically classed as animals themselves, and if she does, there's a good chance those specific golems will have magical properties of some kind that can be called upon at will. What those properties are and how effective they'll prove depends entirely on the human who's blood is used for the golem in question. It may also possible for the monsters that come into this world through Zero Time to also provide magical properties to the golems that use their blood, although Saori will have to research this.

_Weaknesses:

• While the blood golems can be customized to suit Saori's needs, they'll always still have at least one key weakness that brings them down. For example, the golems that can keep up with more agile enemies have proven to be frail, and the golems that can take a hit worth a damn are usually much too slow. The lack of intelligence that most of them have is also worryingly easy to exploit, as they can be lead into traps that ultimately don't make them so hard to take down after all. Saori is currently looking in altering the genetics of any future blood golems that she creates, but this issue will take time and experimentation to rectify.
• Oddly enough, Saori can never remember the spells that allow for her dabbling in necromancy off by heart. This is most likely because she doesn't use such spells often enough for them to truly sink into her memory banks. As such, if she ever loses possession of the grimoire that she currently has, that would be one entire skill-set that'd be cut off from her for quite some time. Saori really needs to get around to purchasing her own identical grimoire at some point in the future. If only she had the funds...
• Saori has severe hierophobia, put plain and simply. Even the mere mention of a church or a shrine is enough to send a chill down her spine, but if she ever finds herself having to go anywhere near what is considered holy grounds, it'll be too soon. The sight of a priest or a nun will cause Saori to freeze in place or back away from them. She may even burn through most of, if not all the resources she has, in a frantic effort to overkill every man or woman who could ever call themselves holy.

Whina Rikimaru: Out of everyone in the entire Rikimaru Family, Whina is the one that Saori seems to have the strongest bond with. Saori is interested in Whina's machinery, which could prove useful in helping her with her own science. And Whina is friendly enough with Saori despite the rumors that tend to spread revolving the latter. If Saori could name one issue she has with Whina, however, it's that for someone less than half her age, she certainly has the superior bust. Saori tries to be mature about it, but it still irks her nonetheless.

Akio Rikimaru: While the two of them remain allies for now, Saori and Akio certainly have their disagreements. Saori still holds firm to her belief that magic should be used to further science and not the other way around, and Akio's lack of patience has been known to grind her gears. However, the two of them still respect each other. Saori appreciates that Akio recognizes her talents, and in turn values his will to keep his end of the bargain. Although Saori still yearns for that throne, she has decided it'd be better if she waits until someone else kills Akio or he himself dies of old age. Either one of those options would give Saori more time to prepare herself to step up to the plate.

Freyja Necromantia: Saori has only conversed with Freyja once or twice, and that was only to borrow the grimoire that she now possesses. She was able to convince Freyja that she could serve as a mother figure, since neither of the Necromantia sisters knew their real mother. That was how she got her hands on the grimoire in the first place. However, she'll likely have to return it straight to Freyja the moment they encounter each other again, if only as a show of good faith.

• Right now, Saori is working on a super-soldier project that, when completed, threatens to make the Rikimaru Family the most powerful out of all the land. She's currently experimenting with genetics in order to manipulate age growth, and she hypothesizes that she'll need a very powerful female mage to serve as an "assembly line" of sorts. Why Saori insists the mage be female is anyone's guess.
• Saori has made peace with the fact that she's unlikely to ever get herself a husband a long time ago. She's not even all that physically attractive on the outside, and on the inside she's downright atrocious. No-one in their right mind could even dream of sustaining a long-term relationship with Saori. No wonder she's always left alone to her own devices...
• Interestingly enough, Saori has quite the collection of "pets", so to speak. They are all known poisonous animals that she uses for her studies. Most of them are snakes and scorpions, but Saori also keeps a few select species of spider and even one or two species of frog.
• Neither of Saori's nicknames are names she likes to be called. If anything, she'd rather be known by the name she was born with, since at least that name isn't degrading on its own. Then again, the actions she's taken thus far don't exactly help.
• It should be known that Saori can work her way around a scalpel and a syringe. She will always have at least one of either one of these tools in hand, which means she'll always have a weapon of sorts even if her resources look to be dry. It might be best to stay clear of Saori while she's out doing field work, lest one be found carved up on the street the next day.

Fujino is a tranquil individual, steadfast to understand and ponder what's around her before an act of pursuit is made. Within the courts of the Akechi main' and its usual haughty members, unlike the rest of them, Fujino exhibits a contagious childlike enthusiasm prone to melting the hearts of many. In spite of her kindness, she's well-meaning and the likelihood of debating with her is practical given her alternative-conservative methody. She will humbly submit if proven wrong or otherwise, the other has too much insistence.

While Fujino highly prefers her method, she's willing to pursue the best course of action no matter how unorthodox and gruesome it may be. It's also a running gag within her family's courts that she's often compared to the Enishi vassal, Kizuna, due their visible similarities as if they're the same person, with parallel physical appearances to boot; icy blue eyes, etc. Aware of this parallelism, Fujino doesn't seem to mind and takes it as a polite compliment, she had worked with Kizuna twice and holds the Enishi in high regard. Despite her calmness, Fujino's prone to take things personally and has perfectionist standards, stemming from her rough upbringing.

The young lady also has a hunger for heat and may indiscriminately hug people. It's a subconscious matter that Fujino craves for love and attention. She has a drive of fixing things even though it cannot be fixed.

• Ellie - ever since she met him, she got nothing but trouble. She hates the hotdog measuring contest that the three families flex, and that includes this annoying Rikimaru. A moment with Ellie lives her day in ruins.

• Kizuna - both of them are professional acquaintances. The faithful Enishi clan has been serving the Akechi since imperial Japan, Fujino acknowledges the assertive Kizuna for her services like the rest of the chain-users. It's been twice they worked concurrently - having solved the murder case of Akechi Masato three years ago and apprehended his murderers.

The second they met was two years ago, Fujino was saved Kizuna and Jana when they were overwhelmed by the Zero Time monster rats.

•Jana - she recognizes Jana as Kizuna's close friend and as the girl afraid of rats.

•Hector - she just found out that this guy is the leader of a squad. She identifies him as Jana and Kizuna's squad leader. Though most of her actions benefited his squad, Fujino is independent of the Akechi.

•Touma - she is thankful for giving her life support.

•Takuto - Fujino has a crush on this man. She never imagined that she can finally touch someone without freezing them, this is of course after her injury.

•Yuri - the previous head was kind enough to give her a place to stay, after accidentally killing her dad at the age of 10.

Backstory

Fujino is raised in the Akechi Main' under a stressful environment with exceedingly high expectations considering the prospect of her ability. As far as it resonates in her memory, her childhood was dedicated into perfecting her abilities and mastering the Akechi ethics, she had no time to have fun and act like a normal kid. She once disobeyed, resulting into starvation from heat for quite some time, because of this, Fujino lived in fear of disobeying her superiors, she strived to fulfill their standards religiously.

Her father viewed her to be the pinnacle of the Akechi and prevented Fujino from ever seeing her mother and siblings by living in a separate house. Since then Fujino's been raised abusively by her father and often compared to her deceased older brother who had better abilities than both of them. She's been given exceptional education, all her life, Fujino thought that she's just a replacement of her deceased older brother. Fujino has been taught all kinds of things aside magic, from machinery to engineering and of course magical subject of thermodynamics. She had developed a mentality of never wanting to be hurt again and honed her walls.

The degree of abuse from her father triggered Fujino's pent-up emotions, she accidentally kills him in self-defense, it was when her Thermal Diffusion Field strengthened on higher subconscious level. Since then, Fujino refuses to touch the subject regarding her past and she's not satisfied. Fujuno hates violence and would rather avoid fights but given the Zero-Time events that transpired, she had no other choice but to lend her strength.

Prior to assignment as part of Hector's squad, Fujino suffered injuries from Zero-Time monsters, losing her right arm, and damaging her frontal lobe which reduced her magic potential and mitigated her shield to the point she can't use magic.

Fujino is a force of nature.

Fujino is born with an invisible layer of armor protecting her from harm, whatever comes in contact with her skin loses momentum as she subconsciously absorbs its accretion, freezing it in the process and release the accumulated soul energy into bursts of cold and ice constructs otherwise she'll be heat-sick. Whenever she's in attack mode, she loses her armor and becomes vulnerable to countermeasures, hence, her stationary preference of standing and tanking assaults because it would just freeze. The best way to defeat Fujino is to constantly spam relentless attacks so that she may overload and be forced to relinquish her armor in exchange for attack power, after that she'll be exhausted and may take time to recover her armor.

She can't attack and defend at the same time.

The real annoying part of Fujino's magic is not the invisible thermal diffusion shield but her Final Soul Burst technique which covers a wide AoE. Fujino has a criminally crippling limited range on what she can plunder, she is boxed, therefore, she tanks attacks to sustain her body temperature.

Fujino can also transfer the heat she has stolen and retain its fresh temperature into objects or people to keep them stable not attack. She has restraint on what she plunders so she won't kill them, Fujino would go so far to ask permission to plunder. Heat is soul energy and vitality of living things.

After sustaining nerval injuries, Fujino now relies on cybernetics to augment the former power she once had but on a limited timeframe. Her lauded shield now requires activation from her cybernetics to replicate its former glory.

Thermal Assistance Cane Model 1
Detects soul energy of heat content within the area that would help Fujino approach to plunder heat sources. The cane is a sword in disguise that allows Fujino to defend herself during downtimes of her magic. It has a built-in camera, microphone and snacks whenever she needs it. She badly needs to use the cane due to the damage she sustained, without it, the toll of her brain damage cripples her by being stressed.

Thermo Electrode Cybernetics
In general, these cybernetics stabilizes her cognitive functions and body temperature.

The Akechi funded a Magical IT Network for Fujino's cognitive support, the device is connected to the network which allows Fujino to augment her magic with the assistance of multiple professionals making the input of her magic while she does the output. Fujino's nervous system was significantly damaged, she has mini electrode nerval implants within her, this includes her cybernetic prosthetic right arm which allows Fujino to replicate its former function.

She also has a choker which can be turned on and off for her to use her magic, this was due to her injuries that limited her use of magic. Fujino can only use magic for about 30 minutes per day, therefore, conservative use. The batteries are thermal absorbent, but they are eclipsed on Fujino's level of absorbing heat, hence, she must be careful on how much she absorbs to recharge her batteries otherwise they'll burn out.

The choker has Mage Mode for attacking and Casual Mode which saves up energy and allows her to function as a normal human being with proper cognitive abilities.

Personality: Cristian at his core is a twisted individual who has many layers to unravel. He is a kind priest, a devil, a saint, and a sinner. It's almost impossible to piece together what his true nature is, but it is hinted by the odd mannerisms that seem out of place. He is not a kind priest. Though he likes to make people smile, he can no longer feel the warmth given off by those smiles. One word to describe him would be aloof.

He's always smiling no matter the occasion. The only times where he hasn't smiled are days where his precious children died. He prays, eats, showers, and talks to everyone with a smile. No matter the person, even if it was a monstrous individual, he would greet that person with a smile.

Backstory: Cristian was an abnormal man who was very attuned to the supernatural world from the moment of his birth. It was like there were circuits in his brain wired to see the world a different way all the way from back then, which shaped his life dramatically. He could hear the thoughts of everything: animals, plants, rocks, and even people. He couldn't control it and he was going mad, so he decided to escape to the life of a priest.

While most priests take up this profession to comfort others, Cristian was a person who sought comfort from others. Hearing the thoughts of others created a cynic in him, so he surrounded himself with children to feel positive thoughts. Those happy days didn't last long, for he was going to buy flowers to decorate the church/orphanage, he came back to see it on fire. He threw himself into that fire to at least save some lives, but all around him was death.

He even contemplated throwing himself into the fire, but he didn't need to make that decision. The fire had already reached him. It was then that he heard the dying thoughts of his wonderful children he took care of. He couldn't bare those tortuous and intrusive thoughts anymore so he cracked and shattered that power of his. The dying thoughts still reached the core of his soul though.

'Don't die.' His terrifying magic that he likened to a curse activated unwillingly in a warped way with the souls of those children pouring into his body, giving him the strength needed to survive the fire. He wanted to cry, but the priest was twisted into a man that could only smile at what remained.

The pure desires of his precious children wanting him to live formed a distortion within him. Cristian decided to take on the path of eternal penance. He traveled to places with high death tolls and performed many funeral services to let people rest in peace. He could not control the fact that the souls of anything that died would rush inside of him. He became more and more twisted even though he tried so hard to control it. He distorted so much that he forgot what his beloved children's craving were.

All his efforts to stop this curse were in vain and so he traveled to Mahoukyo, for this was his last hope. A city of the blatant supernatural is the only thing he can believe to contain this monstrous sin inside him. He was grateful that the Isamu family was kind enough to take in someone like him.

He is a sinner who vowed to repent. He vowed to never forget his sins, never to run away again.

He can hear and feel the innermost thoughts of souls and connect with him. The part of his power that leads him to understanding is what he destroyed because he could no longer bear it. This twisted into the anomalous power that takes in souls to increase his own body's durability. Because of all the death he has seen, the large number of souls have bolstered his durability to obscene levels. He cannot prevent the souls from flowing in for some reason.
