WELCOME TO MY LITTLE BURROW FULL OF WONDERS AND ODDNESS!
Hi, I am a fluffy bunny who is interested in roleplaying with you! Yes, you. I'm just a bunny. Not a human. Don't have a gender. Don't care what yours is. Our characters can be male or female sure, but you and I? Come on now, this is the internet. We're all just anonymous blobs of conciousness here.
So what I am looking for or is fun, adventure, happy stuff and I'm not overly concerned with "realism" or good grammar at all.
Still with me? Good. What a great time It would be to introduce a list of stipulations that will almost certainly narrow down the potential people interest to those who are most compatible with my many eccentricities...
Well... I suppose these are the rules, then:
~ 18+ or R or PG13 are all fine by me. No smut? No problem. No FtB? No problem. No romance at all? No problem. ~ Don't expect me to use real people's faces for character art. You can if you want. But for me it's going to be artwork or written descriptions. ~ Bring your enthusiasm. Bring your imagination. But please, leave your attitude at home. I'm not trying to write the greater book ever with you. I'm just a little fluffy bunny looking to have some fun. ~ Third person only would be great. All that "You" and "Me" stuff makes me feel like you're trying to cyber in an early 2000's aol chat room. Creeps me out. ~ One to three paragraphs is pretty standard for me. But I'm chaotic. Sometimes three will be super difficult. And yet, at other times twelve will be easy as carrot cake. ~ I am not here for offsite role playing like discord, email, gdocs, or messenger, or anything other than threads and PMs.
Read those? You good?
Excellent! Now, come with me.
Right this way, if you please. As we tour the halls and make our way to the inner sanctum of this interest check, you may notice that there are no mentions of fandoms. This is intended. I am not interested in taking on roles that exist in various fictional settings. I'm not judging anybody who IS into that sort of thing. It just isn't for me. Utilizing established fictional settings for original characters might possibly work. However, as you can no doubt tell from thedecor in my rabbit hole here, I am not very well acquinted with popular shows, books, movies, games and such. Still, feel free to inquire.
So with the prep work out of the way, on to my crazy ideas:
In a magical land with kingdoms and elves and dragons and stuff, we zoom in on one neighborhood in one city of one province of a huge kingdom. Many races live in this city, magic provides a modern level of comfort, and the finest hobgoblin engineers are working together with the mages guild enchanted and alchemists to create true steampunk level technology, but it isn't here yet. Nor is gunpowder. Yet.
In the Sharps District of ther city of Ogda, there is a a hustle and bustle as this is where the working sentient lives. Market stalls are set up through the area during the day and many craftspeople and laborers are found working their trades or carrying merchandise through on the way to the Market District. Not a good place for nobles to live, and the truly lowborn can't get away with living here. They tend to stay to the Old Tanner's Market where most poor folk live. Meanwhile the the truly destitute gather in the Temple District Commons hoping for the charity of the pious to be granted them.
Yet something is afoot in the Sharps District. Two families known for their magical prowess and criminal dealings have the entire neighborhood divided. The Sirithenes are a family of dark elves who profited of slaving and banditry before moving into Ogda and setting up more "civilized" operations. The specialize in cosmic elemental attacks and shadow magic. And they run things in the northeastern part of the district. To the southeast you have the Gorivans, a family of fair skinned humans who came from the Old Tanner's Market, before they started "protecting" local merchants and eliminating anyone who got in the way of their power. They specialize in water elemental attacks and necromancy.
Both families settled int the Sharps District generations ago. But they have never settled the bad blood between them. Yet now the the youngest Sirithene daughter and the youngest Gorivan son have taken a liking to each other. Through a series of chance encounters They came to know one another. And soon saw that They were not nearly as bad as their family warned them.
They risk their lives by going to each other's estates, so they meet in secret in the Temple Library. But the thugs and hustlers loyal to their families have grown suspicious. And this time when the go to the Temple they will be followed. As if that weren't bad enough, there are noblemen conspiring in the Temple Library with certain city officials today. Conspiring to eliminate both of the powerful crime families from the Sharps District for good.
Once drug back to their homes, they will each try to warn their parents about the conspiracy. But that sounds too much like the exact kind of clever excuse they would have told their own parents if they wanted to trick the families into working together for the sake of some fleeting youthful infatuation. Not only will the teens not be believed, but they will be locked in dungeon chambers to think about what they've done for a while and realize the danger that their silly little fling has put them in.
Meanwhile the real danger prepares to sweep through the entire Sharps District in the cover of night and leave no Gorivan nor Sirithene alive to further besmirch the glory of Ogda.
Imagine if you will, that the human race survived it's current difficulties, and came together, stronger than ever before. Humanity embraced both it's technological side and it's spiritual side. And it achieved miracles of space exploration, and developed faster than light travel that was as much of an advance on what we see today in our imagined stories as the modern smartphone is and advance on the old star trek communicator.
And then imagine that these humans of tomorrow left Earth behind. Partially because of its lack of natural resources compared to the thousands of new worlds they were inhabiting. Partially out of guilt for mistreating and abusing their homework for so long.
Millions of years later, humanity and the alien races they encountered in our galaxy are all gone. Some think that they created technology capable of traveling from galaxy to galaxy, and just like with Earth, they and there new friends left the Milky Way behind. Some think that they achieved spiritual liberation as a culture and all suddenly ascended to higher planes of reality. Some have even claimed to channel these ascended humans in a sort of possession-like mystical experience.
But wait.
Some of what?
Well, life on Earth was allowed to evolve naturally for a long time. And this, after a very long time under human dominance. The resulting sapient species to emerge from the blue and green planet (and to quickly colonize it's now equally blue and green moon with a similar atmosphere) were strangely simian variations of old Earth animals. These new earthlings were essentially humanoid animals that we know today. Similar to what modern humans call Furries or Anthros.
And now they have come together despite their racial differences, and studied the legacy of their Human predecessors. And they have built upon that legacy. Reverse-engineering human tech, and creating their own spacefaring culture. These new earthlings have explored just about a quarter of the galaxy so far but have found it strangely silent in terms of other intelligent life.
None of the humans or the other spacefaring races they've hinted at in their artifacts seem to exist anymore. The Galaxy is full of ancient ruins. The rotting husks of long vanished empires. Wild lush planets that are actually hiding entire planetwide cityscapes beneath the overgrowth, just like Earth was when the new lifeforms first emerged.
But so much remains undiscovered. It's a brave new galaxy out there. The New Earth Military And Governing Union, or Nemagu, keeps something alot like order while space pirates, human-worshipping cultists mad scientists create a thousand different kinds of trouble per day. The Temple of Inner Harmony, The Church of Light, and The United Antispirituals bicker in the press of the morality and potential consequences of creating True Artificial Intelligence. A practice which is currently outlawed in Nemagu charters.
This theoretical future galaxy is ripe for adventure and exploration. So, who's ready to blast off?
