[OOC] X-Men: The Divided

Just so I am not crazy, a different studio handled season 5 of the X-Men (90's) right? 1-4 were good and then 5 happens and I am kind baffled to what happened to it, it feels like another studio took over.

Appearance

Sarina stands at a height of 5 foot 7 inches and weighs 135lbs with a figure of 37-27-35, She is a Latin American with long shoulder length red hair. Sarina prefers to wear her hair freely but may at times decide to tie it up into a ponytail especially when in the danger room if she get out in the field. She has medium size nose, hands, and ears. She also has thin eyebrows, Dark crimson red eyes which once were brown and delicate average size lips. She has a toned olive skin colour with no tattoos or piercings with size 8 feet.

Powers: Sarina has the ability to control the kinetic energy of atoms to generate, control/manipulate fire Allowing her to excite or speed up an object's atoms, increasing their thermal energy until they ignite, not necessarily objects, but also air particles, She can control and move the flames along with fireproof skin and thermal resistance something that is a life saver. This allows Sarina to illuminate a dark areas, Fire Ball Projection which is the ability to create and manipulate fireballs in her hands and throw them, Fire Stream Projection is Something Sarina has come to learn in training enabling her to generate or create flame thrower-like blasts of flames. They can burn things with intense engulfing flames but sadly Sarina has not learned to control the size and radius of her blasts. Fire Breath is the ability to manipulate the fire in her lungs and exhaling it in the form of non other than fire. Fortunately Sarina has thermal resistance in her throat and mouth which is something she has not yet discovered because at the moment she can only use her hands.

Sarina may be able to understand and control her gift enough for Pyrokinetic combat in the form of Fire Shield Construction which one day she could create shields of varying shapes and sizes out of the fire to defend/protect herself and others around her. If there is one thing Sarina won't always admit is her fear of what she might be one day capable of, weather it is in control or loss of it. And with good reason to as one day she will be able to use one of the most amazing but dangerous powers she will ever be able to do, Conflagration ( Fire Rain.) is something Sarina can one day create a devastating rain of fire conflagrations of intense temperature, capable of burning or even possibly incinerating any objects nearby making it a Area of effect type of ability and one that is one of Sarina's most powerful but harmful ability for not only will it take pretty much everything she has which depending on size and duration can cause headaches, nosebleeds, unconsciousness and even a coma.

Which can even be caused by Unconscious use of the power which can be catastrophic not only to herself but others. There are other downsides that factor into Sarina's power and for one Control is extremely important, Water and a oxygen depleted environment can render her power useless along with instances of Sarina getting burned if she abuses the power to much or loses control. Another weakness for Sarina is the Fiery temper and at times a short fuse. This is another side effect of her power as it effects her personality and emotions which gives her a little bit of unpredictability of outbursts.

Personality: Sarina can be a confident individual, She is considered a outgoing person who can be a little careless at times which can lead her into troublesome scenarios. Sarina can get angered quite easily but can actually be quite an approachable person and normally okay to interact with others. Sarina generally has a good demeanour about her but might have an attitude at times, Sarina is no longer shy to hide her red eyes which is part of the side effects from her power outburst as she is no longer ashamed of them and find's her eyes to be an exotic part of her.

Sarina Considers herself quite open and honest to those around her who have earned her trust, that is something that is few and far between as she was growing up with teens power developing with her and if not careful lose control without the proper help, Sarina does have a Fiery temper and can have a short fuse. This is another side effect of her power as it effects her personality and emotions. This gives her a little bit of unpredictability of outbursts or how she will act or react with others. This can make her to be Cold, Precise and at times to the point when speaking her mind. Sarina enjoy's the gym, Danger room and using her Fire Poi's for her Fire Poi dancing.

History: Sarina was very much a lovely girl when she was younger, Born to american military man and a Puerto Rican mother whose worked in retail work. Life was busy Although her parents would prefer the more quiet and peaceful life, Sarina was the opposite always running around like young kids do, she was able to make friend pretty well and was full of life and smiles, Her parents loved her so dearly. During the early life for some reason she had a thing for Mistletoe, It was probably to do with the special times of Christmas one thing that most children enjoy more and parents mostly remember those magical moments and not fully realizing till she was older to understand what mistletoe was used for. Life was pretty normal for the family until a certain moment, Sarina was now at the age of 16, It was a pivotal changing moment in her life for it would never be the same again, While at a beach party with a load of her friends. During the night Sarina got into an argument with one of the other girls away from the group party in a hut, The drunken girl was convinced her boyfriend was having an affair with Sarina which of course was not true but during the heated argument it got physical and that was when her power flared up albeit a bit delayed compared to some mutants thus setting fire to the small hut they were in.

Unfortunately the flames spread quickly engulfing the frightened girls but running on fear for her life the popular girl fought hard despite getting burned and was able to drag the jealous girlfriend who had lost consciousness out of the fire by time the first person managed to run over, Seeing Sarina pulling the unconscious girl out the fire while others began getting buckets of water or anything they could use and despite Sarina's actions saving the girl who had severe burns over her body, But to the guys shock and Sarina's she was only lightly burned despite her clothes being severely burned and he saw her crimson red eyes which would become a permanent feature of her mutation from the traumatic experience. Sarina promptly ran back home as she her parents were out. Sarina knew that she should of got hurt more than she did but it wasn't until she got home to change clothes she saw herself in the mirror and that was when she realized her eyes. She was a mutant weather she could grasp it or not but her mind was going into overdrive, packing some clothes, water and some snacks she ran away from home trying to get away as far as she could feeling she was nothing more than a freak.

Fortunately her mind was easy to pick up by Charles Xavier and Cerebro which prompted a quick response to find the girl in need and sent Shadowcat to locate and ask Sarina to come to the institute where she would be safe with others like her. It took some convincing but when she did arrived at the institute the teen was amazed, Sarina would spend a while adjusting to her new environment and getting used to being with her own kind but it was hoped to be a mostly positive transition.

There is no time mentioned so it is most likely late, so you may have to make it up. You could wait for others to say what time it is but I don't think it matters to much. I am not really involved at this point. For some reason I can never get the images of other peoples characters on the front page. Quoting seems to not copy the image link or does not show it anymore.

Let me get this straight. You are flat out stating that this is impossible when I already brought forth a couple of examples, both of which are major works (One of which is now an HBO television series of remarkable renown)? No, as the writer, you have the advantage of using a number of narrative styles and developing your own unique narrative voice.

You really should check out this article which describes several other "impossible" narrative modes. Writing in first and second person is a rather interesting exercise and presents their own challenges. The differences in third person are somewhat subtle.

Well, that implies some form of contest. I prefer "the truth will out" but then, not making an inference here, most people aren't interested in learning, researching or understanding something new. Heck, my parents made crap up when they didn't know something.... I had to unlearn so many things.

I'm giving it a try with Bloom, but it is a rather new concept for me. In this setting anyway.

The mentality of trying to just invent rather than just admitting you've no idea is a pretty dangerous one. That's probably why I just stay quiet and listen most of the time.

I'm still wrapping my head around such things as well, particularly since we technically have as many narrators as we have players.

Alternatively, one could write the last post from the perspective of someone else's character or even a group of characters... or even possibly an inanimate object! Though, one would have to be careful not to "put thoughts into someone else's head" if you catch my drift. *grins* My imagination is starting to warm up again!

Take this for example:

"Those in the kitchen could see Bloom watching the tall slender man both enter and leave, a bright smile spreading across her lips for no discernable reason. The red headed friend of plants giggled lightly as she set the kettle on the table. She moved back around to the counter, standing between the cat and the Sushi."

It really allows you to take on a completely different way of writing a character, I like that a lot. I feel kind of repetitive doing the third-person omniscient perspective sometimes, that adds a lot more creative license. Not quite comfortable with doing it from the perspective of someone else's character, but I do like the inanimate object sort of view. For whatever reason I...I pictured a rock just sitting on the counter for no particular reason, observing everyone else...I suppose, in trying to explain it through a rock's completely neutral perspective that's not too bad of a way to channel that view. Haha. I will definitely be toying with that perspective in the future.

For what it's worth, if you feel like moving things along or have a certain idea of how you'd like something to go you can most certainly feel free to use Bloom however you please.
