A poison ring? Seems your dad has some nice moves Emily. Aela smiled and stood up grabbing her blades and offered a dagger to Emily as some bandits began closing in around them.

The leader waited and held his sword aloft attacking Eric’s legs. “Come on kid is that the best you got a poision ring to do your battles?”

Eric smirked and dodged.
-"I wouldn't be so arrogant. That poison is fast acting. Keep running and trying to attack me and it will kick in even faster."

He pulled out a steel whip and aimed right for his hand.

"He may have been in a career that needed them."
Emily half chuckled a bit. She blinked when the dagger was given to her. But, she prepared to defend herself.

The bandit moved back as he continued to battle. “You’re ring has yet to make contact.” He narrowly dodges the chain meant for his neck.
Aela used her left hand to have her short sword she was able to disarm and knock out bandits on her side. She kept checking on Emily to make sure she was okay. Aela knew she could use her flames but with regular people she preferred her sword to do its work. That and she was used to keeping her gift hidden.

-"Look at your left shoulder sometime!"
Eric dodged and attacked. He smirked. He knew some friends from when he turned into this animal, who would be willing to help and knew would be close by. He started howling like a wolf.

Emily kept dodging. She gasped when she heard Eric.
"Eric! Don't!"

The bandit stumbled back noticing the poison. Aela after finishing off another bandit glanced over to Eric as most of the bandits on her side were backing away. As Eric howled. Most of the rest ran away from Eric as they instead tried to take one of the girls hostage.

Aela went over to Emily to help her fight off those taking risks. But they stopped it seems they were uncertain to move in much more.

Eric glared. He howled again. After the second or third attempt, he finally heard the howling of real wolves. He smirked. He gasped when he saw them go after the girls. He charged forward. He felt that he had to protect them.

Emily gasped. She backed away. she had the dagger out. But, then she heard the howling. She gasped again.

Real wolves were approaching! They were growling and snarling!

Eric smirked when he saw he had succeeded. Then, he stood in front of the girls. His free harm kept them behind him. He kept up a fighting stance. He was not going to give up.

Aela at Emily’s side had her sword out then Eric rushed over to them. She quickly sheathed her short sword as not to hurt him. Aela covered her shoulder with the wolves approaching worried that her graze might affect their instincts.

Aela was impressed with Eric as he stood before her. At least he knew how to fight too. She glanced over to Emily. I should probably have a Emily learn to use a bow, that way she too can protect herself.

As the wolves approach more bandits run leaving only a few and the leader who began fighting the wolves.

Emily watched in both shock and surprise. Eric kept up his fighting stance. He smirked when he saw those bandits run off. It was down to the leader and one or two others. Eric shook his head.

-"Looks like your' men are mostly cowards."

The wolves attacked. Emily gasped again as she saw that. The wolves who were not attacked in return managed to get some attacks in. Some bit arms and such, some clawed and bit elsewhere. These wild creatures were quite fierce.

Eric pulled out a sword. He was ready to attack if he had to. He glanced back at his sister and Aela.
-"Are you two alright?"

Emily managed a nod.
"I...i'm alright."
She looked at Aelia and frowned.

Aela glanced back at Emily. Could chosen ones read her mind too? No. Most likely not. But, it would be beneficial if Emily learned how to use a bow. "I have a graze on my right shoulder."

One of the bandits got attacked on his arm by a wolf he swung his battle axe hard on the creature to get it to let go or kill the beast before it killed him.

The other was attacked on the leg he was using his spear to jab at the wolf that was causing the injury. But more wolves were closing in.
The main leader of the bandits was dealing with the poison fairly well and was facing off a few wolves. He was able to dodge most of the attacks until one wolf jumped at him and bit on his left arm. Another jumped and bit his left shoulder. He began to scream as each of the remaining fighters were eaten alive.

Aela bit her lip trying not to listen to their screaming and the bones cracking of the victims that remained. Note to self. Do NOT make chosen ones angry.

The Wolves continued to attack. Eric kept his sword out. Emily watched with wide eyes. She kept looking between aela and Eric. She took a deep breath. Soon enough, the wolves seemed to be winning. She and Eric assumed that to be the case anyway.

-"Last chance to run!"

Emily blinked.
"Um, wow...."
She was not sure what else to say. She bit her lip in a sort of nervous gesture at one point.

Eric turned towards Aela for a moment. He handed Emily a first aid kit.
-"I hope you remember what mother taught you."

Emily nodded. She quickly tried to tend to Aelas' shoulder. Eric looked Aela in the eye and there was sincere worry in them. He did not want anything to happen to her or his sister.

There was only eerie silence with what remained of the bandits.

Aela was relieved shocked and bewildered. “You two didn’t know what magic was. I had to explain the basics. So, Eric how do you come by a magic ring and summon a wolf army?! I’m grateful for what you did, I really am. But, I should probably know what you chosen ones are capable of.”

Eric shook his head.
-"It is not a magic ring. It is a poison ring. It has a hidden needle concealed carefully inside the decorative piece. Have a look at it. Secondly, I did not summon the wolves. I called for help and they came. I...may have befriended some the one night I turned into a wolf myself."

Eric gave a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his head a bit.

Emily sighed.
"Our father once worked for the royal guard. He still had a lot of his equipment from back in those days."
She looked at Aela.

Eric started to turn back towards the bandits, holding out the sword he had and such.

“Your father worked in the Royal Guard?! Then why settle in a small country village?” Her own father was a captain, but it was over the small guard of the village.

“Either way Eric your pretty impressive.” Aela smiled a blushed a bit. Was now a good time to tell him about her feelings? Most likely not. Maybe later not surrounded by wolves or dead bodies. That’s right the wolves...will they stick around or just leave?

Eric had no other foes to fight.

Eric shrugged.
-"I believe it is where he met our mother."
Eric glanced at Emily.

Emily nodded.
"Our mother is the youngest daughter of the village leader. She met our father when he passed through with his troop. They claimed it was love at first sight."

Emily and Eric both chuckled. The wolves soon left and Eric smiled, waving them farewell. He looked at Aela again after that.

Aela was watching Emily tend to her graze as she sheathed her dagger, with her other hand. "That must be the most romantic and bizzare turns of fate I could have imagined." Aela chimed in with them as they laughed a bit and stood up once Emily was finished. "What a fun start to our journey ahead."

Eric and Emily both shrugged.
"I suppose so."
She looked at Eric, who simply shrugged.

Eric blinked. He raised an eyebrow at Aelas' comment about their journey.
-"If you say so."
Emily simply nodded in agreement with Eric.

Eric took a breath.
"Shall we head out now? Is your shoulder alright, Aela?"
He walked up to her. He truly wanted to make sure that she was alright.

Aela began walking behind Emily and Eric she was surprised when Eric walked beside her. "I'm fine, Eric. It was just a small graze. Besides, my magic can be summoned with any limb if need be. I promise the graze won't slow me down in protecting you two at night."
"Thanks for looking out for me though. It mean a lot that I can lean on you too for protection. I still have one question for you though."
Aela was wrestling with if she should address the liking scenario or not. Maybe it should happen later? She wasn't quite sure about it.
"Are you okay?"

Eric still looked worried. He sighed a bit.
-"....if you say so."
He let is slide for the moment, but he would not let it go. He faintly smiled a bit when she thanked him.
-"I wanted to, you know."
That was the truth.

Emily was listening in. She tried not to smirk or roll her eyes. She wanted Eric to just confess already, but she figured it would take Aela confessing first to convince him. Anyway, she kept walking with them.

Eric nodded.
-"Our father trained me well."

He had since put the ring and the sword away. He sighed.
-"Hopefully, if when we turn into animals again, it will be animals with claws and teeth that can defend themselves."

Emily sighed and nodded.

Aela smiled listening to the twins speak, She blushed at Eric's worry for her and was relieved that he seemed to calm down the slightest bit with her thanking him.
"Your father trained you hmm? He trained me as well in combat with swords and all I know about magic. He didn't speak of my mother too much but he told me she was the one who was gifted with magic."

Aela nodded at Eric's comment about turning into animals with claws and fangs. "So, we haven't discussed our plan when it comes to at night while camping out under the stars. And what concerns me is this mage who cursed you. Do you think she has people who would be watching you? Or at least trying to stop you?"
