Yes but the sense of urgency. Even on the highest difficulties it was tedious not intense. I love good stories so I tried to like both games for upwards of 20 hours....But they are just so boring. I like Darksouls and pretty much anything of the Bioware stamp. If you wouldn't mind a blind one eyed man, I might try my hand at it.

I was thinking he would have been someone who engaged in the darker arts of their combat, long since banished from his world before its....*evil sneer* Untimely demise.

If you value a game based on its combat merits, you're doing it wrong.

I dislike Darksouls for the reason you like it. Combat is well and good, but if it doesn't have engaging characters and a story that makes me care about what I'm doing, then its boring and pointless.

Enough of this though, no sense in arguing about it~

Yeah I guess the dark arts soldier would work. Seeing as he makes organics esplode. Along with eating souls. Thanks guys that clears things up. Trying to think of why he'd willingly follow Mindwarp also. Curse my like of aliens, and death bringers! -shakes fist at self-

I don't see why people didn't like Oblivion's story. I liked it, for the most part >_>

Because if he doesn't, he'll be stuck on an island when the supers show up to find out what happened to their prison.

Well what if after he lands he just ditches everyone? Or tries to kill them? Then again he probably wouldn't attack them. As he's not stupid enough to get himself killed by taking on an airplane filled with blood thirsty psychopaths.

Dont misinterpret, I am in no way knocking the Elder-scrolls series. I know for a fact that my taste are a bit off, I reguard them as excellent escapes from reality. But it wasn't the combat that bugged me, it was pacing. The story is told in a as you come across it sort of manner. Meaning I had no idea at any given point what my priorities where. Darksouls story is told in a similar fashion, but I enjoy how much of the story is told through location and the items you find. Nothing in Darksouls is forced....Aside from death XD.

I once again am not trying to compare apples to oranges, just explaining why I like my apples in a hard cider and my oranges al a mode :D

Its fine, Venom. I didn't mean to sound like I was attacking you or something.

I find Dark Souls to be very...forced, to use your wording. You don't really have any direction in the game at all. You're just told to go find two bells and not really given any direction on how or why you should be doing that. To cure your undead state? Honestly, I think I'd rather stay undead. Its perks seem...much better, to me.

Well obviously you didn't feel compelled to follow it. I didn't either, at least not until I explored almost all of Cyrodill and completed other quest lines. I like the games for their openness, and the ability to explore pretty much anywhere I want too.

I don't really like the Elder Scrolls games either- I'm definitely not a fan of wide-open sandboxes, and I don't really like the lore, so...

Damn it, I keep missing the fact that there's a new page. Anyway, I'd just like to say that I totally agree with Venom.

I've never gotten the point of exploring as a goal...It doesn't engage me. Finding out what new area will come next, on the other hand, I get- in other words I like exploring in areas that are built for you to explore, not wide open sandboxes (which are kind of like 'here's a giant amount of space for you. Now do something').
