Ada Taliar
Age: 17 |
Gender: Female |
Height: 160 cm |
Magic Affinity: Wind |
Race: Human
Physical Description:
In regard to her appearance Ada neither got particularly lucky or unlucky in the genetic lottery. Dark hair, dark eyes, average height, not particularly ugly nor attractive. Physically Ada is average in almost every way.
Personality:
Ada is the kind of person who really struggles to deal with others and copes by presenting herself as a weirdo with far more energy than she actually has. When she's not being given the attention she so dreads, or is otherwise around people she knows well enough to be comfortable around Ada's personality becomes far more bearable, becoming calmer and more toned down, outside of such circumstances however she can be pretty hard to deal with. It’s worth noting that while her eccentricities can be tiring for others, it is just as, if not more exhausting for her.
Ada also possesses a great deal of curiosity. She enjoys learning new things and views not knowing things as a failure on her part. Unfortunately, Ada’s curiosity is such that it acts to hinder her learning almost as much as it aids it, with Ada often getting sidetracked to study topics related to her focus or stuck trying to understand concepts well beyond her level.
Finally, Ada is the sort to think things through to a fault, going well past the point of anything remotely helpful and instead crippling herself with indecision and doubt over even simple tasks. Even after getting something done, Ada agonises over how she could have done things differently after even the smallest of mistakes or worse still finds ways to turn her successes into failures within her mind.
Bio:
Ada was a student in her past life, nearing the end of her school years when she died. Her life had been relatively uneventful up until that point. Even with her colourful personality people just learned to filter out her oddities and ignore her, leaving her to a quiet school life with little of interest ever happening. The only real noteworthy aspect of her life was how much she’d struggled with her studies towards the end. She wasn't stupid or anything like that, quite the opposite actually, she was smart and enjoyed learning, but the quirks of her personality made it hard for her to get much done and lead her to dwell on and amplify her failings in her mind, while a lack of any real social bonds had made it difficult for her to vent her dissatisfaction.
Magic and Abilities:
Capacity: D | Flow: C | Flux: E
Return By Death: The chance to fix one's failings through death.
Character Intentions:
In her past life the smallest of failings weighed heavily down upon her. Now that she’s in a different world she can mostly set aside the worries of her old life, however, she will quickly realise the differences between earth and the world of Re:Zero and set her sights on using her knowledge from earth to try and improve her current worlds situation. She will as usual set her goals way too high, however, using first world earth as the standard to strive for despite not really having the skills or know-how to come anywhere close to being able to achieve that. The addition of Return by Death will only further complicate things, as even when the conditions for activation making its use unreasonable, the knowledge that she could retry will only cause her to bloat her self-expectations and failings further out of proportion within her mind. Without intervention, she will undoubtedly reach a breaking point.
The other thing Aya would be interested in is the world’s magic, whether it be in the form of mana, spirits, divine protections, witch authorities or whatever else. She isn’t necessarily interested in practising magic, more so in understanding it. Particularly, Aya would be interested in looking into how magic could be used to imitate or substitute some of the technology present on earth.
Extra:
Sodium Knowledge is the best divine protection.
