Name | Reese Raymond
Alias | Sever
Age | 26
Gender | Male
Appearance | 5' 9" - 155lbs - athletic build
Notoriety | Wanted (as Sever)
Danger Level/Variant Type | Class 3 Architect
Abilities |
Psionic Blade Creation
Reese is able to create blades out of psionic energy. The size and cutting strength of the blade varies based on the amount of energy Reese expends to create it. The largest blade he can currently conjure is about the size of a broadsword. He manifests his blades in or around his hands or forearm area, though he has recently learned how to create blades away from his body and hold their form long enough to become projectiles.
Supernatural Accuracy
Reese can achieve complete and utter accuracy on any target, with the activity center in his brain for aim, accuracy, and precision improved well beyond normal human levels. He needs only to aim for an instant before he can precisely hit a target with a projectile.
He can judge extremely long distances amazingly accurately, gauging the strength needed to launch a projectile in order to hit a target. If a target is moving, Reese can calculate the best method to hit the target. Visual obstructions like smoke and vegetation do not hinder his ability to get an accurate bead on his target, and his intense focus allows him to shut out outside distractions. He can compensate for environmental factors that would normally throw off his aims like wind, air resistance, gravity, and radiant heat (which distorts the image of a target).
Enhanced Dexterity/Agility
Reese can go from one motion to another effortlessly, allowing him to perform numerous gymnastic, athletic, and martial implements with little to no effort. He can precisely control his movements and muscles, making him unable to be clumsy or fumbling. He can slip through a network of lasers, keep perfect balance, or juggle effortlessly without ever tripping or wobbling.
He can only fall over when physically uprooted or pushed, though most times he can land on his feet. Reese can stand upright on even the most unstable of surfaces, such as a moving vehicle, a collapsing building, or an earthquake. He is able to regain balance or bounce back to his feet quickly and perform feats such as shooting a gun, throwing a knife, or fighting at seemingly impossible angles and positions.
Overdrive State
During times of extreme duress, Reese's adrenal glands will release an excessive amount of adrenaline, which increases his strength, reflexes, and ability to withstand pain. It also slows down his sense of time, allowing him to perceive everything in slow-motion. He is unable to control or trigger this adrenaline rush at will. If Reese spends an excessive amount of time in this state, he becomes drained from the overload and will crash within an hour.

Background |
Reese’s family moved to New Haven when he was a child, settling into Ville Rogue. It didn’t take long for Reese to completely fall in love with the city. It’s unique and vibrant culture was intoxicating to his young impressionable mind. It became a struggle to keep him grounded as he was prone to sneaking off on little ‘adventures’ to his mother’s chagrin. Once Reese reached his teens, his mother gave up the fight, and he explored the city as often and as extensively as he was allowed and would often get lost in its mystique. It didn’t take long before the city became his personal playground.
As he grew up, however, New Haven's true colors began to show: namely, the frequent criminal activity and increased mobilization of the police force, SWAT teams, and MADmen. Reese began to pay more attention to the prevalence of the sirens, the movement of tactical drones, and the constant newstreams. It became too much for Reese to take, and eventually, he decided to take action and oppose those who sought to bring his beloved city to ruin. Instead of taking the more lawful approach, Reese decided to cruise around the city as Sever, dealing out street justice and combating corruption using his variant abilities.
Not wanting to isolate himself completely from society, Reese decided to keep his vigilante work a secret. Adulthood and responsibilities took precedence, so he settled down a bit, moved into Midtown, and nabbed a job in a tech shop. He was especially tech savvy and the job suited him extremely well. He continued to keep his eyes and ears open to the dark corners of the city, straddling the line between preserving order and disrupting it.
