“Ready to go,” Jen said as Aura nods.

Shiranui called Majin out. "Back to Hammerlocke, Majin," he commanded. The Hoopa nodded and threw one of their rings to create a portal to Hammerlocke.

"This is such an easy way to travel vast distances," Liam said thinking aloud as he walked through the portal.

"It helps when time is shorter than we think it is," Shiranui replied, stepping through the portal, "The only conventional ways back are to catch a plane with stopovers in Alola, Orre and Unova; or fly our Dragonite for eight hours straight."

"Oh yeah, I got to arrange my team for the battle against Rihan. A match between two dragon trainers..This will be great!" Liam had stars in eyes from his excitement at the prospect.

"Uh oh, we're losing him…" Shiranui remarked to Jen.

Aura and Jen enter through the portal, “Liam will come back to earth when the battle starts.” Jen said to Shiranui as she went to adjust her team as she did not have much experience with dragon type Pokémon. Jen is on the ground being lick by Maui the Lyoroc.

Liam made adjustments to his roster and was ready for the battle.

Shiranui did his prep work, picking out a few Pokémon he thought were adept dragon slayers.

Jen is ready as Maui and Aura catch up on stuff.

"We ready for the gym battle?" Liam asked his friends.

"It'll be like Blackthorn City back in Johto," Shiranui answered.

“Ready,” Jen said as she pets Maui.

"Well, the battles in Blackthorn didn't have massive crowds watching." Liam commented. "Not like having an audience is a problem for me of course." Liam then stopped for a moment. Who should go first to face Rihan?

"Jen went first back at Spikemuth," Shiranui stated, "You or I, Liam?"

,I think you should go first Liam,” Jen said as she is thinking the dragon master should go first.

"I'm with Jen on this one," Shiranui agreed, "Go slay him, Dragon Master."

The heroes entered the gym to a mass of cheering spectators. Rihan saw the heroes and waved to them as he walked to the back room. Liam changed into his Challenge Uniform.

"Welcome to Hammerlocke Stadium!" called the Annonuncer over the PA. "today Gym Leader Rihan has three challengers trying to with the eighth Galar Badge. today's first contender was one who was recommended by Rihan himself. A young man whose accaliades stretch from Kanto to Kalos. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you The reigning Johto Champion and currently ranked number 55 in the Pokemon World Coronation, Dragon Master Liam COLEMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Liam walked out and took his place hearing several cheers from the stadium.
"Coleman! Coleman! Coleman!" chanted the audience. The crowd died down then the MC continued.

"And our next man needs no introduction. Currently ranked number 8 in the World Coronation, Our very own, Rihan!"
The cheers Rihan made practically made the building shake Rihan smiled and waved to the audience and took his place. Once the cheers died down again the ref began to talk.

"This Gym match will be a Double Battle with each side allowed four Pokemon. The Battle will end when one aide is out of Pokemon. Now, Challenger Coleman, Leader Rihan, send out your first two Pokemon.

Liam sent out Dragonite and Attrocitus the red Gyarados. Rihan sent out Gigalith and Flygon. Liam was thrown for a loop on seeing Gigalith.

Gigalith's ability kicked up a sandstorm.
"Flygon, Thunderpunch the Gyarados! Gigalith, Stealth Rock!" Rihan called.
"Dragonite, Ice Punch on Flygon! Attrocatius, Use Surf!"

Gigalith launched pointy rocks into Liam's side of the field as Flygon soared toward the shiny with an electrfied fist.
Dragonite sucker punched Flygon with an icey punch as he flew by/ Attrocitus summoned a huge tidal wave that crashed onto the field. Flygon charged through it to land it's electrfied punch on the Water/Flying.

"Attroctius, Rain Dance! Dragonite, Dragon Pulse on Flygon!" Liam called.
"Rock Blast Gigalith! Flygon, use Breaking Swipe on Dragonite!" Rihan called.
Attrocitus summoned a rain storm to replace the sand while Dragonite fired the draconic blast at Flygon. Dragonite took both hits, the Breaking Swipe being a critical hit and taking him out. His attack still hit Flygon for considerable damage. Liam recalled Dragonite. Liam readied another ball. He stopped to think about it but changed his mind, putting it back. "Well, I guess I'll go with a different choice instead" Liam said to himself readied a Luxury Ball. "Slushie! It's time to shine!" The Alolan Sandslash emerged from the ball and gave a battle cry.

the Stealth Rocks dug into Slushie.
"Slushie, Defesne Curl! Attrocatius, Hydro Pump on Gigalith!" Slushie curled up intoa spiky ball to raise its defense while Attrocatus launched a high pressue jet of water at the Rock creature, getting a KO. Gigalith was replaced with Sandaconda.

Flygon used Thunderpunch again, getting a direct hit on Attrocitus.
Slushie, Ice Ball! Attroctius lauch Slushie with Iron Tail!"

"Flygon, Thunder Punch and finish the Gyarados off! Sandaconda, Glare on Slushie!" Rihan called. Flygon gave one last electrified punch to the Gyarados to take him out. However, he managed to use iron tail to Launch Slushie, who was spinning in place building up power befire he fell. Slushie was launched like a bullet into Flygon, taking it out. in the process. Both pokemon were recalled. and in unison were replaced with a Duraladon. Attorcatius slamming his iron tail into Slushie moved him out of the way from the glare.

"Bring the storm! My partner will send everyone in the stadium flying!" Rihan activated the Dynamax Band to make his Duraladon Gigantamax, which made the crowd go wild.
Slushie swung by and bashed into Sandaconda, casuing a sand storm to kick back up. He used Earth Power on Duraladon in attempt to stop it before it can Gigantamax.

"Let's do it... Time for our G-Max Depletion! The dragon's roar will cut right through you!" Rihan said as he used G-Max Depletion on Slushie. Liam's Duraladon was told to use Iron Defense which helped cushion the blow.

Sllushie slammed into Sandaconda again Leaving Sandaconda in poor shape a Rihan's Duraladon used Max Quake. Liam had his Durladon use Dragon Pulse, finishing off Sandaconda.

Liam smirked as he recalled his Durladon and activated his band. His Duraldon emerged abd began to grow. As he did, Slushie zoomed up his growing partner. Duraladon flung his head upward as he finished growing to launch Slushie upward, so that Momentum from gravity would be added to the attack, making Slushie effectively a big chunk of hail. The Duraladons both fired G-Max Depeltion at one another.

Slushie used the final round of Ice Ball and slammed into the right foot of Rihan's G-Max Durladon. The Durladons both used G-Max Depeltion again. Rihan's got a critical hit and KO'd Liam's Durladon. Rihan's returned to normal size.
"As there was no rule forbidding multiple gimmicks in a gym battle, Liam reded his Z Power Ring with the Groundium Z.
"Now for a move I rarely pull from my bag of toolkit," Liam said. He had Slushie channel Magnitude into Tectonic Rage and got the KO, giving Liam the win and the 8th badge. Liam carefully high fived the Pokemon as Goodra popped out of his ball to give them a group hug.

"I might have lost, but I still look good. Maybe I should snap a quick selfie..." Rihan pulled Liam and Slushie into the selfie with him.

"In the aftermath of the furious battle... I feel as pure and refreshed as when the sky clears after a storm."
"What can I possibly say? I made a great choice in reccomending you Champion Coleman. Seems I'd grown quite conceited for someone who can't even claim the title of Champion! Overconfident in both myself and my team! Good luck in the Champions tounament"

Liam thanked him and walked to the sidelines to watch his friends. Slushie and Goodra help Liam cheer them on.
