I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure I'm capable of tailoring a story for that kind of character. You'd have to take all the initiative there.

@Thinslayer Newt is a quite interested in learning and reading, curious about discovering new things and showing how good he is as a magician. Now that he discovered magic is real here he decides to actually try to learn all about it while also making many friends along the way. I'm not sure what you mean for "Tailoring a story" because nobody needs to tailor something for my character. I'm interested in driving my own narrative of exploration and discovery, very much like an adventure story.

I find the antagonistic role appealing because it aligns me against the majority of the cast. I get to have epic PvP fights whenever they try to challenge me. >:)

Of that, I don't bare much issue to that answer. However, the age-old ideal of justice prevailing over evil is what concerns me. I don't mind the idea of battling against other characters, but I'm not fond of the idea of that I'm predestined to eventually lose, because I chose to play the villain, y'know?

Hell if it made more sense he'd be a native to the world we're in, I don't need to play a Protagonist or Antagonist if that's what your point is. I like playing side characters who don't have a huge impact on the world but have a significant role in their own small way.

That's fair. As a co-GM, I'm expecting to have to create the world around the characters, and I endeavor to create a world that's ripe for whatever story the players want to tell. That's more what I mean by "tailoring." But as you pointed out, I may be overthinking it.

@Enkryption Your character need not be a "villain," just an "antagonist." The antagonist should always be the hero of their own story. My character, the Witch, is actually trying to do the world a favor, but everyone opposes her because they don't understand what she's trying to accomplish and aren't on board with her methods. I'm perfectly happy to play such a character because I feel like she's "heroic" in her own way.

When I slept yesterday, it was page 3. When I woke up, it was page 7. The activity around here is insane.

In terms of lvl mechanics, I don't have any experience on that as well, since all my previous RP have all been narrative-driven, and if there's any 'leveling' in those RPs, shall we say, they're mostly like the Zelda-ish style you mentioned: as the characters go through trial and tribulation, they get experience and can do things with better efficiency. So I'd vote in favor of that.

I may reconsider playing Newt though, I feel like playing a slightly more humanoid character as for the nature of this RP. I have a character in mind whose a very archetypical narcissistic pipsqueak.
