@Zool I think your misunderstanding her, the Witch is a villain to us but not herself. I believe our characters can interpret her actions.

Nothing Thinslayer. I signed up for a particular experience and should've dropped out when I saw it wasn't going to be that. You delivered something amazing that everyone else is absolutely loving. Don't switch up for me. I'll just end up complaining about something again, down the line, probably lol

@Zool But that's the thing, though - I think the experience you were looking for is one I wanted to deliver. I want your characters to be important protagonists to this story. They're not supposed to be 'side characters.' If I'm not delivering that, something needs to change.

And you're not so unimportant that dropping out wouldn't be felt. I think changing things for you would be worth the effort.

Just skimmed over the interest check for this RP. It's not even like you tricked anyone, you basically already said this is how it was gonna go if you controlled the plot and main antagonist. So I retract that statement about playing Ru Bain 'as advertised.' You advertised her exactly as she is. I should've dropped out. I guess I was just kidding myself, for a chance to play as an Isekai character.

I'll just drop out, bud. It's much easier for everyone this way.

@Zool My working plan for the RP was to eventually put the players in charge of their own factions, where they could lead the fight against the Voidspawn in much the same way the Witch does. Of course, I don't think anybody signed up for a Nation RP, and I wanted the PCs to work together, so I was thinking maybe they'd all be part of the same faction - like Chatak's, for instance. Killing the Witch wasn't supposed to be the end goal, but it was supposed to be perceived as the end goal because it plays a role in the PCs' development. If they can develop a more nuanced judgment of the world, the experience gained will help them unite the world peacefully, which the Witch was unable to do.

@ThinslayerThat's a pretty sweet vision. And you have some great budding characters for the task. Yeah, that's fair. I think killing the witch was my idea, I'm an idiot lol. My apologies for causing a fuss. I'll keep reading along, just to enjoy it and see how it all plays out. And I can write myself out, or leave that in your capable hands.

Thanks, she was a fun character to make, I think I'll use her basic template again for something else. Her archetype has potential and I really like her name.

Not an option. I'm definitely not cut out for a Nation RP. And well, I said the other stuff already. All that aside, I'm a really simplistic writer, MacKensie was designed for a really basic MMO-RPG hero arc, I don't think I'd do well, where this is going, anyway. Maybe I'll find something a little more bland to play her out in.

I'm not terribly cut out for a nation RP either, which is why I'm trying to steer away from it. I'm still hammering out the plot. And there's definitely room for MMORPG-style hero business; if Conejitoooo ever comes back, I was thinking Rei could be The Villain All Along, since she's definitely got the right foundation for that. And the way the Voidspawn are shaping up, they might have some Big Bads among them. Each nation has its own miserable pile of secrets they don't want uncovered, so there are bound to be sub-bosses for the heroes to fight along the way. I think MacKenzie still has a place here.

I can stick around to write my character out - set something/anything up for you, if you want - over the next 1 or 2 posts. I'm gonna keep reading as I'm emotionally invested in the characters now, (so you have a fan lol.)

I know this is a really strange exit, I'm an odd-ball and I apologise. Had I been mature enough to address you in PM, this may have been salvageable but the toothpaste is out of the tube now. I'm out, good sir. You have my reasons and my best wishes. And another apology for making such a fuss.

How do you want to play this? It's early in the story and nothing hinges on MacKensie's existence, so the IC can go smoothly. Should I do the exit or do you want to take care of it?

Drama, misunderstandings, and arguments are part and parcel with collaborative efforts. As psychologists and therapists have pointed out, conflict is important to developing healthy relationships - they're integral to the "relating" part. People are different, so they're naturally going to spar as they figure out how to live with each other. The outcome is relationship. There's no need to leave over that. You had a concern, and we hammered it out.

Alright, a little late to this because of being the only person who lives in the right Timezone, but yeah, I’m glad you’re still sticking around Zool. So far I’ve felt like all the characters have been pretty likeable and well written, even if most of their players seem to not think so.
