Pallas Skygarden - Light Fairy

Gender: Female
Role: Tank / Support
Class: Paladin / Warlock / Favored Soul Sorcerer (I plan to continue with paladin and sorcerer)
Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2546532

Appearance: Pallas is a tall and lovely light fairy. She has overflowing tresses of blonde hair and a large set of translucent blue fairy wings. She wears jewelry on her ears, neck, and arms. Her usual attire is an embroidered blue dress decked with white lace. Underneath however, is sturdy chainmail. The dreadful mace and kite shield she carries add an edge to her otherwise gentle and inviting appearance. Her eyes are hypnotizing, bright yellow gems that seem to have lights twinkling behind them.

Personality: The fairy has a confident and refined manner. When she has pressing work, she is focused and direct in addressing it. And when she relaxes, she has a curiously aloof sense of humor. Pallas has lived many years in peace with neopets and other fairies, and it has granted her an inherent likeable and friendly nature. She is normally temperate and somewhat reserved, but she's always supportive, and she delights in games. Nevertheless, her noble and disciplined nature may lead one to think her a warrior, and rightly so. Pallas is a proud knight of Faerieland and a defender of the light. She doesn't hesitate to help those in need, or to act in defense of the innocent. When things get complicated, she tries to talk things over for as long as she can before resorting to force.

Backstory: Ms. Skygarden is a light faerie whose mother was an air faerie. The two were always close, and some have said these facts explain why Pallas has some traits that are more typical of her mother's type, such as blue wings. Ms. Skygarden became a squire to one of Fyora's faerie knights. She trained under him for a few years and eventually became a knight herself, under his command. She showed skill with a mace, but her real talent laid in magic - using her natural connection to channel light and healing energies. Pallas would travel all around Neopia on missions from her superior officer. Mostly courier and escort missions. Things seemed so much more peaceful in those days; although, more than a few fights did break out on these outings.

Things changed when Faerieland fell. Pallas' old master died during the events. When she finally got word, she traveled back to Faerieland to investigate what happened, and to try to pick up the pieces. She was very hurt by the loss of her mentor, and she decided to take charge of her own destiny. She no longer serves Fyora in any official capacity, but on her own initiative she has spent the last several years helping rebuild Faerieland and continuing her practice of knighthood.

Ferrin Aren, Warrior of Meridell

Gender: Male
Race: Scorchio
Colour: Red
Class: Fighter (Banneret)
Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2552972

On his own, Ferrin stands at around 5'9" and weighs about 190 lbs. When traveling for work or when he thinks he might go into battle, he is often wearing his armor, but when battle isn't the main goal, he will often travel lighter, preferring more casual attire for ease of travel and comfort, and will often just wear clothing over his chain shirt.

Personality:
+ Cheerful, always attempting to look at the bright side of things
+ Loves to fight in hand to hand/unarmed combat, and actively seeks new brawling partners at every opportunity. He also believes that finding and fighting strong opponents really helps him hone his skills and improve himself!
+ Strives to put his best foot forward and be a role model, like the Knights of Meridell were for him as a child.
+ Bold and willing to stand up to anybody, no matter how strong or terrifying they might be, if it means saving the lives of innocents.
+ Honest and always tries to keep his promises, no matter what they are.
+ Has a secret fondness for plushies and actually looks to start a collection one day, although this is extremely embarrassing for him and he would never admit it.
- Extremely overconfident in his own abilities.
- Riddled with prejudice against the Darigan race and the citadel above, especially soldiers, due to his experiences and knowledge of the War on Meridell.
- Extremely easy to anger and frustrate through insulting his honor or fighting abilities. Especially if you're a noble doing it.
- Ferrin sometimes lashes out violently when his rage or frustration is pushed to his limit. Though he would still never use a weapon against somebody who didn't truly deserve it.

Backstory: Seemingly born on the outskirts of the village surrounding Meridell Castle, Ferrin's heritage is a mystery even to him. He's been on his own for as long as he can remember, unable to recall even the family that he must have had at some point in his life. All he can recall is that he lived on the streets of Meridell, getting by doing mundane tasks around the village for meager payment. He would often receive offers to take care of him more properly, but he would always shake his head and respond that he was fine. He was a tough guy, he could handle himself. That was, of course, unless the local bullies were messing with him. Most of them he could handle on his own; he taught himself how to brawl from an early age, finding it necessary now and again to defend himself.

However, one in particular got to him above all others: a Darigan Draik named Corrin Ritter. The Draik was evidently born from a family that had seemingly supported Meridell financially during the War and thus granted noble status as a token of good faith upon the peace treaty between the two kingdoms. Corrin, as was the case with most noble children, was receiving a formal education...and formal training for knighthood into the order of Knights that defended Meridell. Due to this formal training, Ferrin could never match Corrin. Every time he and Corrin crossed paths, it would inevitably end up in an argument, Ferrin would throw a punch, only to get beaten in response. He would easily get away with it by saying he was simply defending himself, despite the fact that he was always manipulating Ferrin's anger and instigating the fight himself. This ultimately led to Ferrin distrusting the Knights, hating that they were going to let just any noble brat into their ranks.

One day, however, as Corrin was giving him a beatdown just like any other, who should step in to put a stop to it but a Knight, who happened to be in the area on some mission. Expecting to be told off for attacking a noble, the Scorchio was about to shout back. However, the Knight surprised him by reprimanding Corrin instead, and telling him that that wasn't how a noble and future knight should carry himself. This moment changed everything for the young Scorchio. From that day forward, Corrin never again set foot in the area and his bouts with Ferrin stopped completely. Ferrin knew then that he had been mistaken about everything. Perhaps the Knights, and maybe even the nobility itself wasn't so bad after all! In fact, Ferrin even began to idolize the Knights for their actions, and would go out of his way to visit or observe the way the knights acted, or sometimes, even watched them fight as they took down a criminal here and there.

Ferrin had decided: He was going to prove himself. He was going to become a Knight of Meridell, noble blood or no!

And thus, years of training began. Starting with a wooden sword and eventually saving up enough money to have a blade made for him. He was largely self-taught, but on occasion, a passing knight would chuckle at him and offer some pointers. And then, one day, it happened. There was an incident in the marketplace, and Ferrin was able to stop a thief and retrieve the stolen goods. A knight, who had apparently been tracking that thief, was impressed with Ferrin's work and offered to allow him a chance to join them. Thus, he visited the Castle for the first time in his life, on an invitation from one of the Knights he so idolized! When he showed up, they had him spar with one of the newly recruited knights for the year, and if they could impress the superiors enough in the match, then he would be granted honorary knighthood. He agreed without a moment's hesitation. But when he finally stepped into the sparring circle, he laid eyes upon his opponent.

A Darigan Draik.

Ferrin, now more determined than ever, fought with his rival from years ago, Corrin. And while he ultimately lost the contest, he had made it a close fight. The higher ranked knights that watched were impressed how close it had been, despite his lack of formal training. And thus, they inducted him, and Ferrin began his training as a Knight of Meridell. And over the year he worked, he was even beginning to befriend Corrin, who had begun to admit that there was a slight chance that he had some level of talent. The two trained together and even occasionally would be partnered for missions together. Ferrin even became particularly close to one other rookie Knight in particular.

However, this all began to fly when Ferrin uncovered something big.

Since that day, Ferrin has travelled around the lands owned by Meridell and Brightvale both, still brandishing the colors of his homeland. He may not be a knight, and he may despise the nobility for what he viewed as cowardice, but that didn't mean the Knights didn't have value or virtue. And that didn't mean he was wrong to idolize them. He still fancies himself a Knight to this day, even if it's not in formal title. So, when he heard the call for adventurers for some important task from none other than King Hagan himself, Ferrin had to admit, he was tempted to see what the fuss was about. He had his distrust of nobility, but he'd heard nothing but good about Hagan, and maybe this was worth a try. Besides, if the King himself was looking for recruits, it had to be important. The noble Knight in him couldn't resist the draw to this new task....

Eloween Pengelly & Wyler

Name: Eloween Pengelly
Gender: Female
Race: Ixi
Colour: Purple
Class: Ranger (Beast Master) [planning to later multiclass with Nature Cleric]
Sheet: myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2546527

Appearance: Eloween stands at about 5'1", and while her fur in mainly purple, her hair is a bright orange, with orange spots also on her face, arms and back. She has large magenta eyes, though her left eye is partially obscured by her bangs. Her hair is short but is also combed in a way where it can be hard to spot her small, stubby horns. She tends to dress in practical, outdoor clothes, often made of thick, protective material like leather or hide to offer some help against the elements and any dangerous flora or fauna she may encounter. These clothes tend to be in earthy colours so she can blend in to her environment, and often have some sort of hood to help hide her brightly-coloured hair and fur.

Personality:
- Kind and gentle, with not a mean bone in her body
- Patient and forgiving of the flaws and mistakes of others, while simultaneously being very critical of her own
- Sensitive towards the emotions of others, particularly animals
- Dislikes conflict, often trying to defuse it as quickly as possible
- Hardworking, putting a lot of pressure on herself to do a job as well as possible
- Has a hard time saying 'no' to people
- Plagued by anxiety and self-doubt
- Strives to be someone others can look up to, and becomes extremely upset if she feels she's let someone down

Backstory: Born and raised in the small, marshland village of Bogshot, Eloween is the oldest children born to Gustan and Syve Pengelly, and as such, as always strived to be someone her family, as well as the other villagers, can depend on. Very early on, her parents taught her how best to navigate the swamps, and in her teens, taught her basic combat and archery just in case she ran into anything particuarly dangerous. Her mother especially, who was the village's local herbalist and druid, taught her many things about what plants had useful medicinal properties, which were safe to eat and which were dangerous, and even taught her a few spells to aid her. Eloween was an obedient child and fast learner, so she quickly picked up these skills, and when her two younger siblings, Zennora and Austell, came along, she passed on these lessons and would often accompany them whenever they went out to play in the swamps. This protectiveness and responsibility soon extended to the other village kids too, and Eloween became quickly known as big sister figure to all of them, and other villagers would often congratulate her parents for raising such a responsible daughter. One day, however, one of the kids in her care went missing, and while they were eventually found alive and well, with only a couple of minor scrapes, the child's parents were very unhappy with her and both them and some of the other villagers were hesitant to put their children in her care for some time afterwards. This was the starting point of Eloween's anxiety, and while the village didn't hold this against her for too long, she started being much more protective, especially of her own siblings.

As the Pengelly children got older, attention shifted away from Eloween and over to her sister Zennora, who proved to be something of a prodigy in academics and magic, and even got a scholarship to a posh school in Brightvale. Eloween was happy for her sister, of course, but secretly felt resentment, not just because her sister was getting more attention than her, but because she feared that her little sister no longer needed, that she'd 'outgrown' her and one day all of Eloween's friends and family would do so too. Eloween fell into a bit of a depression after her little sister left, spending a lot more time at home and just altogether unhappy. Her parents grew worried about her and deliberated much on how they might best help her. Gustan, who had been a travelling musician back in his youth, suggested that perhaps Eloween should get out of Bogshot for a bit, that a change of scenery and new experiences would help her mood. Syve was hesitant; she'd spent pretty much all her life in Bogshot, and was afraid that seperating Eloween from her home and support would only worsen her mood. Eventually, they came to a compromise of sorts, and broached the subject with Eloween that perhaps she would like to go spend some time in Meridell with distant relatives. That way, she still had people she could rely on. Eloween was reluctant at first, even worried that her parents wanted rid of her. She did agree, however, and spent the next couple of years in Meridell.

Her extended family lived on a small ranch, raising and selling petpets for a living. It was hard work, but Eloween grew to enjoy it quickly, as her nurturing nature meant petpets were very receptive to her, and it grately improved her mood. During her time working there, one of the ranch's gallions had recently given birth to large litter, and the smallest and youngest of the litter was being bullied by its siblings, meaning it was getting a lot less food and attention from its mother. Feeling bad for it, Eloween started keeping an eye on the petpet, bottle-feeding it whenever it didn't get enough food, giving it attention and breaking up any fights between it and the others. Eventually, this little Gallion stopped caring too much about its own mother and started following Eloween around, constantly seeking her attention and sometimes trying to 'help' Eloween with her various chores, to mixed results. Eloween's family eventually decided to let her keep the Gallion, partly because no one else could even get near the creature without getting bitten or scratched. Eloween named the Gallion 'Wyler', and began training her as a sort of 'guard dog' for the ranch. There were a lot of beasts, monsters and rustlers around Meridell, after all, and there had been a few close calls with petpets almost being snatched up during Eloween's time there, and the ranger was determined to make sure they didn't lose any of their livestock. Using her own survival training, she set up traps, trained Wyler how best to detect and handle threats, and even stood vigil herself some nights, her bow at the ready. She and Wyler even gained a small bit of renown among the local farms after taking care a particularly troublesome creature that had been stalking around the area.

However, Eloween did eventually grow to miss her home and family, and was considering returning to Bogshot for a bit when she recieved a letter from Zennora, inviting her to come spend some time with her in Brightvale. Excited to see her sister, she made arrangements to leave the ranch for a bit. She DID initially try to leave Wyler there, telling the Gallion that she had to stay and protect the ranch, but a little ways into her journey, she quickly noticed that Gallion trotting behind her. After some failed attempts to get Wyler to return, she caved and let her stay.

She arrived in Brightvale and stayed with Zennora for a couple of months. While the two sisters were happy to see and spend time with each other, it was a little awkward as they hadn't seen each other in some time. Zennora had grown from the shy, quiet girl who loved reading into a confident and smart young woman. During their outings, they'd often be intruded upon by various school friends of Zennora's, who were always talking about how clever and talented she was. Eloween could also detect that they seemed surprised whenever Zennora revealed that they were sisters, and she could feel her old feelings of resentment and envy returning, much to her horror. She tried her best to keep this concealed, but musn't done a good job as one evening, after a particularly harrowing outing, Zennora called her out, claimed she had been 'weird' during dinner, and that her friends had told her she'd been 'rude' to them. This quickly turned into a full-blown argument, which ended when Zennora called Eloween a "sad farm girl who'd never done anything important in her life" and Wyler bit her arm. Half upset, half in panic, Eloween quickly ran out of there, heading to a local tavern and renting a room for a few days while she figured out what to do. She didn't think Zennora would want her back after that, she didn't want to return to Bogshot in case her parents asked about what happened, and she didn't feel up to going back to the ranch in her current state.

During this time, news about King Hagan searching for adventurers for a unknown mission started spreading, and, both unable to turn away from someone in need and out of a need to prove herself to her sister, Eloween signed up as part of Hagan's test to see if she was worthy to help out on this mysterious mission.

Name: Wyler
Gender: Female
Species: Gallion

Personality:
- Acts as both as Eloween's emotional support and a bodyguard, being sensitive towards her emotions and protecting her from those who might take advantage of her kindness
- Wary of and slow to trust strangers
- Has been known to bite under very little provocation
- Stubborn and independent; doesn't listen to anyone except Eloween, and even then, she has been known to go against her ranger's wishes if she thinks she knows better
- Proud of her power and skill, tending to show off from time to time and loving compliments, even from those she mistrusts or dislikes

Arma Rockspy

Gender: Male
Race: Bori
Color: Brown
Class: Monk - Way of the Astral Self (from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything)
Character Sheet

Appearance: Standing at 5'9" and 155lbs, Arma is rather lithe for a Bori. His dark brown fur and gray carapace meshes well with the walls and rocks of the dojo where he stays. Although it looks rough, the fur covering his body is actually quite soft and pleasing to the touch. The thick and dense strands help keep dust and dirt away but is useless in the face of water. Once wet, he will spend hours or maybe even days trying to dry it out. As Arma is adept at maneuvering his body, the carapace is vital for his defense since he can just redirect incoming blows onto it. His large yellow eyes are useful for seeing in the dark. Arma also sports a headband to keep excess fur from falling into his eyes.

Personality: Like most Boris, Arma is rather timid. He dislikes conflict and prefers to try and talk things through even though he isn't that good at it. Despite this, once he sees that there is no room for negotiation Arma turns into a skilled fighter that utilizes hand to hand combat and his spear. Outside of hostile encounters, Arma likes rocks... a lot. And digging. Since digging brings him closer to rocks that he can see and collect. He doesn't like swimming a lot, or flying for that matter since they take him so far away from the ground which was solid and had rocks.

Background: Arma grew up under the tutelage of Master Pebble in the Dojo of Flowing Stone. Since a young age, it was all he's ever known. Although he was a timid child, Master Pebble saw the innate ability in the young Bori and encouraged him to hone his skills. The fruits of his labor was finally shown when during a spar Arma managed to hit his opponent who was several feet in front of him with what seemed like a flickering spiritual fist which disappeared soon after. Since that day, his training has increased tenfold in an effort to replicate and master the ability. Even though he was clearly the Master's favourite no one envied him as the training regiment that he was going through was enough to make even the most senior members puke their meal. In fact they even encouraged him to improve since he was the first of their kin to learn such a skill. He has never left the dojo and has never had the urge to. He enjoyed his happy, albeit tiring life with his brothers and sisters and Master Pebble.

When Faerieland started to fall, the Dojo of Flowing Stone was one of the first to respond to the external threat. Master Pebble and the most senior warriors set forth in an effort to find the source of the problem and eradicate it leaving Arma and a couple others in charge. Alas, months passed and there was still no news from them. After catching wind that Lord Hagan was recruiting a few adventurers to help solve the crisis, Arma consulted with the others and decided that he was to go. In order to find out what exactly happened to Master Pebble and the other members, for the first time in his life, Arma was on the opposite side of the dojo gates.
