Noun 1. a corpse supposed, in European folklore, to leave its grave at night to drink the blood of the living by biting their necks with long pointed canine teeth. Undead.
Vampires have stood the test of time as myths; stories to scare children at night. Hollywood cliches that remain in the limelight due to their mysterious nature and dashing good looks. This holds some truth, only they are not just in your imaginations. Vampires have lived among humans for centuries and to this day, their true identities have never been revealed. To avoid this from happening, a vampire must choose a human 'companion' so to speak. One human to get their blood supply from and to meet whatever other needs they might have. From first bite, a connection forms between the vampire and human. A bond usually develops, displayed mainly in the human at the beginning but slowly the vampire too will become a little affectionate towards their human. After all, the human becomes 'theirs' once they're bitten and vampires tend to be a little possessive of their property. It is important to note, however, that vampires are not expected to fall in love with their human. It is not something that is highly regarded in their society but there are always those willing to push what is expected of them. While it is not necessary a law - there are vampires that will hunt down and act against those that consider their humans to be anything more than a food source.
Every year the newly changed vampires - and those who's humans have gone past there sell by date - attend a dance. One in which they are expected to find a human to last them for the next few years. The unsuspecting humans receive an invitation in the mail, telling them they have been selected above all others to attend the annual masquerade ball. An invitation many would die for.
Dearest ____________,
You have been officially invited to attend the Harrison Masquerade Ball this Friday evening at eight in Mr. D Harrison's estate. This invitation is valid only for the person whose name is stated above. No further guests will be permitted to enter the grounds as this is a private event. Formal wear is essential. There will be a buffet and open bar at the ball and a prize for the most elegantly dressed lady and gentleman.
We look forward to seeing you this Friday evening.
Kind regards~
The Harrington Estate is may be a cage, but think of it more as a nature reserve rather than dinky bars. The mansion is on over 100 acres kept with every amenity a human/vampire needs to survive in luxury. There are over 21 bedrooms each with a walk-in shower/closet area, an indoor and outdoor pool, gym with rock climbing walls and indoor equipment, an indoor theater, a ballroom, three living rooms, gourmet kitchen with all the works, outdoor firepit, grill, and courtyard. There is a botanical garden on the grounds along with hiking trails. There is a outdoor tennis court, basketball court, and multiple areas to further explore.
Courtyard (Extends from the back of the estate):
Ballroom (Where all the events are held):
Outdoor Pool (follow the Courtyard to the East):
Botanical Gardens (Excellent for an evening stroll, follow the Courtyard South):
The hiking Trails extend from the West where the recreational grounds are also located (the basketball court/tennis court/ect). The 100 acres is surrounded by woods. The driveway to the estate is a long road lined with maple trees whose leaves rain down in fall and cover the path in beautiful shades of auburn, gold, orange, and green.
Important Note: These vampires can go out into sunlight, but it weakens them a considerable amount and it's only direct sunlight that weakens them. If they spend too long in it they may die. The older they are the longer they can spend in the sun. They can be killed only by other vampires though humans can hurt them with sharp wood. They can change a human into a vampire by sharing their blood with the human. They don't need to sleep but sometimes do if they've been hurt or they're thirsty. They're stronger, faster and overall, more powerful than humans. Despite common tropes they do not have any powers. A human does not need to die for a vampire to cast them aside and get a new one.
When being bitten and fed from, a human will either feel intense pleasure or pain. They will form a strong bond with the vampire who has bitten them, and this bond will not break unless the vampire feeds from a different human. The vampires will give the humans a drink after they have fed from them called Thyma, based off the medical effects of polycythemia in the body. This will help the humans regain energy and help their blood cells multiply so they don't die from lack of blood, being fed from so often.
Rules: As the GM I expect you to respect both myself and any others who join this rp. No characters will be god-modded without permission. If someone quits replying or is busy for several days then their character can be modded in the sake of keeping someone else from being stuck. We will need to keep the balance between vampires and humans for the sake of how this roleplay works. Due to this I intend to make one vampire and then keep an available spot for the sake of balancing. For matchmaking I am going to use a randomizer and once we have all the character sheets I will send you who your partner will be. If you have issues with this partner down the line we can trade out if needed.
Be mindful if you are a human then you will need to be estranged from your family. They know this prior to sending the invitations. Brief Description of life before the invitation and why you decided to go to the party.
If you choose Vampire then you can do a brief description of how you came to be, your goals with living this way, ect.

I am here. I would like to lay claim to a human character for the time being. I am willing, if we need to balance later, to also make a Vampire character but I just want a human for now.
I think she is done. For the most part. I might add a bit more but for the most part this is her.
Deanne Holly Delmonte
Dean or DD, Holly is also expectable though not prefered, Anne if you want to get kicked
Dean is an, admittedly short individual, only standing at a nice even 5 feet tall. Despite her short stature she is rather muscular though still lean. This is due, in part, to the fact that Kick boxing is her workout of choice. Her skin is on the lighter side, lightly tanned but still in the pale territory, and her eyes are an intensely dark blue. Her face has a light dusting of freckles across her nose and she has a “beauty mark” under her left eye. Dean usually keeps her naturally black bangs a light blue/teal color and her hair rarely passes her shoulders. The exception to this being the longer stands on either side of her bangs.
Deanne is an extremely headstrong individual to the point where, once she has decided to do something, not much can talk her out of doing it. Something most people would say is a good quality to have, and it is, in some cases. Most however it makes her pretty hard to get along with. She also tends to be rather sarcastic and or blunt. She lacks any real filter between her brain and her lips so people know exactly where they stand where she is concerned. If she doesn’t like someone or something she is quick to let the irritant know she is displeased.
Over the years she has slowly become more outwardly stanoff-ish adopting an unintentional “resting bitch face”, and general rough exterior. But once someone gets through the rough shell she has put herself in they will find a very caring and, mostly kind, individual. Because she knows she can be hard to get along with, the people who stick around despite this earn her undying loyalty. She would go to the ends of the Universe for the people she cares about. Oftentimes she will sacrifice her own comfort and happiness for friends in need.
Dean cannot stand when people point out how short she is as if she could control how tall she got. She also absolutely hates when people put their hands in her face, the exception being if she is in an intimate relationship with the individual, not that she is in a relationship often.
History
Dean’s homelife was never great. Her father left her mother when she was young and her mother was extremely narcissistic. This resulted in Dean leaving home at 16. Due to her mother’s behaviors she didn’t know anyone from her extended family, and she had a hard time keeping any friends she may have had from school. She had one friend she stayed with for a while after she left home and finished school but that friendship ended after graduation, as the friend went off to college and Dean dove into work. She maintained a job at a restaurant as a waitress for quite a while. She made enough money to keep herself afloat by doing this but her life pretty much consisted of work, sleep, and working out. Her lack of a social life is exactly why she decided to attend the party. She needed some excitement in her life.

Dean has been kickboxing since about seventeen, she found it a cheaper way to work out her issues then therapy, which she admittedly probably needs but will likely never get.
Okay, here it is. Let me know if anything needs to be edited.
Willow, Willa, Wills, Mina Call her Wilhelmina and see what happens…hint, nothing good.
|24|Human|Female|
Willow’s more delicate features give her an innocent and gentle appearance which is only enhanced by her petite height of roughly five foot two inches. However, though she might appear weak at first glance, she actually has a bit of lean muscles. Most of that strength is focused in her arms rather than in her legs due to some of the sports in her younger years that required more upper body motion. She has large doe like eyes, a shade of olive green in color with a button shaped nose and full rosy lips. Her skin has a sun kissed tone, not quite tan but really not considered pale either. The chocolate brown tresses of her hair fall to about her mid back in a slight wave and have been layered up to her jaw. She has fairly long legs which make up a lot of her height, soft curves from wide hips that give her a tinkerbell/pear shape.
Willow is a [sweet], warm-hearted, and [optimistic] woman that marches to the beat of her own drum and isn't afraid to do so. She believes in being herself even if people's opinion of her might not be a good one because of it. She wants people who like her for the way she is and doesn't feel like anyone should make you change who you are meant to be. The ones that know her are very aware of how [stubborn] she can be when her mind is set on something and she won't let anyone get in her if she believes it is right or will help someone in need. She always tries to find the good in everyone which sometimes can get her into trouble. This isn't to say she is naive and will give her trust to anyone but she wants to understand what they think and why they do what they do. If you do earn her trust and friendship then you will never meet anyone more caring and open. She will stand by your side through thick and thin, a real [loyal] until the end type. She would take the shirt off her back if it meant helping someone else she cared about out.
Willow will always tell you what she thinks and not exactly what you would like to hear. She doesn't do this to be mean or cruel but because she knows nothing good ever comes from a lie which is why she gives her opinions very [blunt] and clearly. In some ways, Willow can be very mature and in others she acts kind of childish but she knows how and when to be serious even though she would rather not be. It is more fun to be laughing and smiling than having to be serious or straight faced. She isn’t always sugar and rainbows though. She has a very fiery side to her, at times even [hot-headed] if you get on her bad side or make her angry. Willow prefers to call it passion but no one else would say so when her silver tongue is harshly snarling in your direction. She isn’t just some soft pushover that will stand down.
History
Since the moment Willow was born, her whole existence was to work on impressing her great grandmother and give extra opportunity to be chosen as a successor which would mean gaining the fortune that would one day be left behind. Heck, she was even named after the woman and her brothers were just a variation of that same name. Problem is, her great grandmother is a snide grumpy snippy manipulative hag with the highest standards imaginable. Nothing and no one was ever going to be good enough for her. If she had ever had a chance to meet her great grandfather, she would have pitied the old fool for having to be arranged with such a woman to grow their vast empire. It wouldn’t surprise her if that was why he ended up in an early grave. Willow certainly felt like she would prefer an early grave when she was forced to stay there every summer and endure the woman’s presence. Not to mention all the pointless lessons and sports to be a “well rounded young lady”.
It wasn’t to say she didn’t enjoy the easy and rich lifestyle but she much preferred being around her grandpa, one of the only other people in her family that wasn’t trying to money grab or grovel at the old woman’s feet. He had actually turned down taking over the family business, deciding to pursue his own dreams of being a violin marker instead of being locked to a lifestyle he would have hated. They had threatened to cut him off at that point but had only done so when he “married below his station” as it were. His brother also has been cut off, blowing all his earnings on gambling and burying himself in debt. It was why her great grandmother decided that neither of their children would get the inheritance, stating “two sets of disappointments would not raise suitable children” and why each year, every great grandchild was forced to her manor so she could “make sure they didn’t become rotten”. It seems money really does bring out the worst in people because Willow wasn’t sure how her grandpa made someone like her mother. Maybe it was because she had never met her own mom and was closer to her great grandma to make up for it? Either way, her obsession with impressing their great grandmother and her father’s hope for riches was not a great combo for her or her siblings.
The worst part was when her grandpa passed away, leaving her feeling like a lone black sheep. No longer did she have a buffer or an excuse if she wanted to keep away from her great grandmother. It was from that moment on that Willow counted the days to graduation, working hard so she could save up enough money to get a place of her own and cut any and all ties. It had been a struggle and she had to scrape by for a while but she had managed. It made her see the value of hard work, how to treat people with kindness and help whenever you were better off, and more importantly proved that money was not everything just as her grandpa had always taught her. Willow went onto college, working towards becoming a part of a professional orchestra and having a few opportunities while getting her music degree but nothing too serious. She won a few competitions but she knew it would take a lot to be accepted as a professional. When she received the invitation, at first she thought it had been some kind of joke or that she had accidentally received a guest invitation instead of an entertainer invite. Either way, masquerade balls were quite a unique sight and she hoped to see more music enthusiasts, maybe even have a few moments with the conductor if there was one and not some DJ. After all, Willow wasn’t sure how authentic their host was going to be with this event.
Outfit for the Party
Other:
• Her grandfather taught her how to play the violin at a very young age. She could practically play before she could walk. She isn’t as skilled at making them but she can in some cases at least repair them. • While she can speak French, it isn’t something she tends to use. • Out of the sports she was forced to take, she hates tennis and fencing the most. She actually didn’t mind archery but music is more her passion. • Willow does not hate her family and they provided a pretty good normal life growing up but she was tired of them controlling her life. She had no interest to be around her dreadful cousins or her horrible great grandmother.
Dextar is a friendly towards their friends and their colleagues, always be the one with the answers to everyone problems, and just love learning new things overall.....But underneath that calm persona, is a twisted vampire that will do anything to learn about the secrets of the world, if even they have to do some questionable things to achieve it.
History
[center]In the 1940s, Back when the United States and the Soviet Union had fear and paranoia in everyone's minds, there was one person who was too busy, filling their minds with curiosity and taste of more knowledge, and that person was Dexter Gilbert. Dexter was a smart kid at a young age, a little too smart people say. At college while everyone was out there socializing, Dex has their face buried in many books that they can read, trying to eat every knowledge that the world has. But just because Dex was a shut-in, doesn't mean that they didn't have any friends, his name was Professor Miller, a family friend and a mentor to young Dex. With him on Dex's side, their search for never ending knowledge would never end....But then, Dex heard the news that shattered their mind....They were dying from a deadly disease.
Dex didn't want their quest to end here! They want to live! They want to get to know everything before they die!.....Professor Miller suggests something that could save Dex's life, and all they have to do is go to a party, Dex agrees to go.....And after that night, Dex is never the same again.....They turn into a vampire.
This was a dream come true towards Dex! They can finally stay alive! They'll never die! Since that night, Dex has been learning everything, never slowing down. Dex wants to learn world knowledge and secrets!....Even though that path they are taking is going to make them mad.
@sassy1085 Two quick things. I want you to expand on your personality of the character a bit more. I don't mind a little mystery but flesh them out some more for me. Secondly, if they are in the U.S in the 1940s be aware more of the concern was the tail end of WWII than the red scare. Red scare was more after WWI kinda in that 1920s period. I'm all for the mad with knowledge but again its a bit vague. If Dex was invited to the party they would have been a human sacrifice, not something that would have occurred with an ill human. You can still have them turned but it would be prior and then brought to the estate to work out the kinks of a newborn vampire. Fix these two things and tag me when you are ready for me to re-review your character. Other than that I do like the image and the outfit.
Okay, after drowning in a sea of Pinterest images, I think I've finally found ones that capture Jacques' image in my head!
Jacques Demont
Lord Demont
|26|Vampire|Male|
Jacques stands at 193 cm (6 feet, 3 inches) and is athletic in build with a light olive complexion and deep set grey eyes that usually hold a soft and warm gaze. He has dark hair with a light wave he likes to style in a way that makes it look effortlessly toussled. Do not let that fool you; he spends a lot of time getting it perfect. Jacques takes great care in his appearance, preferring darker clothing in wine tones because he knows they complement his skin. Taking great pleasure in the human form, there is only one part of his own body he is self-conscious about: on his chest, there is deep scar tissue over his left pectoral that indicates some sort of gouging injury. Because of this, he rarely shows anyone his bare chest, lest he be questioned about the never-healing injury.
Jacques is a vampire who radiates warmth with his gentle smile and careful way of speaking. He is known in his community as a bit of a philanthropist who is charitable with his money toward causes such as funding social programs or public works projects. Jacques does not flaunt his wealth, but he doesn't dislike being seen as a generous person or when people notice just how expensive his clothing and possessions are. Jacques greatly enjoys the beauty and sensuality of unlife with his heightened senses, surrounding himself with beautiful furniture, ornate fabrics, and interesting conversation. Though he views humans as a food source (as all vampires ultimately do, whether they admit it or not) he also sees them as endearing creatures, preferring to be gentle with them, like one would with a beloved pet. He enjoys making the act of feeding a pleasurable and indulgent experience for everyone involved; he doesn’t take pleasure in treating humans cruelly and views those vampires that do as barbaric beings incapable of truly savoring humanity.
History
Jacques was born into the French aristocracy in 1073. From a young age, he endured the training to become a knight as many noblemen before him had done. Tall and strong as a boy, he excelled in simulated combat as well as the real thing alongside his mentor. Turning 21 granted him the coveted title of knighthood just as religious tension around the Muslim occupancy in Jerusalem was reaching its peak. Under the higher nobility, he joined the First Crusade and took part in the successful siege of Jerusalem in 1099 at the age of 26.
The ensuing slaughter was horrid. Hundreds of men, women, and children perished at the hands of the Crusaders, including Jacques. It was in the heat of battle that he was separated from the rest of his men and found himself tackled to the ground by a surprisingly agile and mighty woman. She hissed in his ear that he would suffer for the suffering he and his men had wrought against her people. Then, mercilessly, she tore the armor from Jacques' shoulder and bit down, making quick work of draining his blood while his screams intermingled with those of the citizens.
Jacques awoke cold, alone, and thirsty the next night in a pile of rubble. The woman had turned him into a vampire as punishment for his participation in the Crusade. He spent the next year learning of his bloodthirsty condition on his own while he stalked the shadows, too terrified of the carnage he had seen to feed on anything but rats or wander too close to the light. It wasn't until he made his way to a completely different country, England, that he was able to pull himself together and find others of his own kind. They taught him how to be a nobleman again and how he could feed from humans without guilt, even with great pleasure.
Jacques enjoyed traveling as the centuries passed, either with others or on his own, but he never stayed in one place for very long. He had passing acquaintances and explosive nights of passion with vampires and humans alike, but no real connections were allowed to form. The idea of true intimacy with another soul was, quite frankly, terrifying for him. It was at the Harrington Estate, however, that Jacques felt a sense of belonging for the first time since his knighthood. It was an intriguing proposal: be partnered with a single human for an extended period of time and form a symbiotic relationship with them...to an extent. There was something about the romance of the idea that attracted Jacques, despite his fears of allowing himself to open up to another. He had run from it long enough; Jacques was finally ready to try "settling down," so to speak.
Besides, if he didn't enjoy this way of living, he could always just leave, couldn't he?

Lucifer is a tall vampire male standing at six feet-eight inches with broad shoulders, golden eyes that turn red when pissed off and long, dark hair with streaks of brown, blonde, black, and reddish blonde. He’s built like an assassin, has dark facial hair and angular features, and always wears a stud in his right ear along with a chain around his neck.
|589|Vampire|Male|
Personality
|Kind| |Can be Cold/Cruel| |Very protective| |Ruthless| |Charming| |Aggressively Violent|
Lucifer is very charming and can be quite persuasive, so much so that his name and charm have earned him the nickname of being The Devil. He plays by his own rules, and only follows those he deems worth following, and as such he’s been labeled a villain more than once, even when his actions were in the protection of what he sees as his. Lucifer is a male who views what’s his as his to protect, to cherish, to punish for misbehaving if needed. Lucifer is dominant, as dominant as he was as a human, he is even more so as a vampire. He expects obedience from his servants and his submissives, but enjoys it when they challenge him every so often. Challenge him too often and it is seen as disrespect, something he doesn’t tolerate well.

Interested, but only if I can be a human. Any gender is fine - is there a particular gender of human that is more needed right now? I may work on CS later.
Josh enjoys flashy gothic and Victorian style dress. He will take any opportunity he can to “dress like a vampire,” despite the fact that he is in fact a human. Other than his style, Josh is a pretty nondescript human. Long dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, pale nerd skin, a bit scrawny.
Josh’s life and interests can be mostly summed up in one word: vampires. He is absolutely obsessed with anything related to vampires! Scary ones, sexy ones, creepy ones, sparkly ones, sexy ones, dangerous ones, sexy ones, all of them! In ordinary life he tries to convey the mysterious, wise, dangerous air of a Victorian vampire with mild success. Other vamp-lovers admire him as an enthusiastic, never-ending wellspring of vampire knowledge. Pretty much everyone else sees him as a nerdy loser who can barely hold down a grocery stocker job and can’t talk about anything except his True Blood action figures.
History
Josh grew up with a twin brother (Brady) and a single father – his mother died in childbirth. Brady quickly proved to be the most sporty/masculine, and therefore most loved, brother. There was never one dramatic moment that split Josh from his family forever, as much as a war of attrition with too many rude words and looks going all directions for many years. They just… grew apart over the years as Josh’s interests and lifestyle veered farther from the others. Josh hasn’t contacted his family in about two years.
Josh accepted the invitation to a masquerade in a gothic-type castle because… duh! It’s a vamp-nerd’s dream come true!
Outfit for the Party
Once again, a reminder that Josh is a human, though he likes to imagine otherwise. His mask is porcelain white with an intimidating, devilish expression and a slight trickle of red down from the lower lip.
Other:
Josh tends to prefer men but could also go for the right Victorian lady.
He smiles, but his eyes look sad. Simone seems to the type of person to cling onto his past sometimes, still choosing to clothes that imitate his vestments of the past. Of course there are embellishments, you wouldn't get Simone without embellishments the cuffs of his shapeless robe thing he wears has lace wrist cuffs, and the robe clearly sits at his shoulders exposing his white turtle neck embroidered with a flower design in white string so its barely seen. Simone has a habit of probably wearing more rings than one person is allowed, often have a ring on mostly every single finger. Which probably is a distraction from his dead fingers, that are blackened at the nail bed and the tips of his fingers. His hair is actually a silvery, powdery platinum blonde, which is evident when you notice the blonde highlights in his hair. But there is a total lack of melanin in his eyes by their ruby red color. He's also not the tallest of guys, standing at 5'5" pretty some girls tower over him, he's also exceptionally thin, and frail looking. The only true piece of jewelry on him from his past, is his cross, made of silver, black quartz, and amethyst.
"I will never really know what I judged for or why I wasn't granted either permission to enter Hell or Heaven. I feel unworthy of both places. Instead I have been exiled. I no longer hear His words. Yet, I long for something or perhaps someone with the devotion that I placed in Him. Now I am trying to figure out the meaning of my own life."
Simone seem almost afraid to make friends with others, he diffuses the situation often times with a well placed joke or some other form of witticism. Though he can sometimes go too far with his playful teasing of others and it can start to come off mean, when Simone is merely trying to awkwardly fit himself into a group that he feels uniquely disconnected from. Probably has something to do with living in a cave for a long period of time. When he is being generally kind, which is his usual disposition, Simone can be caring for others who get to know him and put up with his defenses. He is almost devoted to the few friends he makes, to the point it comes off as subservient people pleasing. But the truth is whether it is friend or partner, Simone shows he cares through acts of service. He can be genuinely creative, making hand made gifts for the few people who put the time into him, he usually hand sews clothes. But if you're not asking for an outfit, he'll bake cookies. On his bad days, Simone can be cranky, and a bit cold. He is distant with his emotions with others and also doesn't always feel he needs help from other or he will reject help from others entirely. He can be downright moody sometimes, often sniping at people and lashing out. And is often self destructive when he meets failure or feels he has failed a task or someone. As a perfectionist he holds himself to high standards, probably too high. Standards set on a jenga tower, that when he doesn't meet these impossible feats he can meltdown quickly. With that said Simone tries his best to handle himself, so that way he doesn't burn bridges with others. He just burns himself instead.
History
Born into Catholicism, in the 1500’s in England. Baptized and taught at a young age, it was expected of Simone to take his Father’s position as priest when his Father passed. Which Simone did in 1556 at a relatively young age, which did cause some uproar within the village he was born. How could someone so young, still learning, still being educated himself, have found the voice of God? His Father had been roughly working as the Church’s Priest for nearly 39 years, who suddenly passed.
Growing up Simone’s family life was relatively devout and served God with the utmost care. His parents were relatively strict and firm. While they may have not been physically abusive, they put an immense amount of pressure on him to be responsible, disciplined. There were expectations of him to meet even at a young age.
When Priesthood was turned over to him, still an adolescent at the time, his Mother’s expectations of him increased. She became even more firm with him. In fact a lot of the time, Simone was expectant of following exactly in his Father’s footsteps. The villagers of the town he grew up in were unkind to any sort of change, despite Simone’s own growing self.
Simone was known over time as someone who may be more sympathetic for someone at his time. He saw the Church as a way to forgive and heal those who may have committed wrongdoing in the eyes of God. And there were rumors among the Church. And the people of the village that Simone may have had a hidden secret. Rumors that he may be a man-woman.
Losing his Mother in his mid twenties, he inherited her cross. Or really she gave it to him on her death bed as a memento. And while Simone wished she wouldn’t have been so strict, and pushy with him, he accepted it because she was the only Mother he knew.
Without his Mother and Father around Simone grew more into himself. His own beliefs and how he interpreted his own doctrine. This displeased some. As he argued against punishing those others deemed as heretics. He argued that God would and could redeem them. Which angered many. They complained he had too kind of a heart. They complained that he would be the death of them. Simone ignored it, free for the first time of his parent’s control and whispers in his ear, Simone began to grow more independent and how he embraced the doctrine he had devoutly followed.
It was not ideal to be a free thinker in the Church at the time. While still conservated, and traditional, he was still too progressive at the time.
After a while, the criticism died down, there were some folk who didn’t like him, but they accepted him nonetheless. They hadn’t much choice. He was educated, well read, and he might be a little innovative for them. Unfortunately things wouldn’t last, as he fell ill at 27. It started with a fever and a dry cough. It would be soon realized that he had caught the white plague.
He continued on his work either way. With no children of his own and no future plans of who was to take over when he met his end, he wanted to leave the people behind with as much information as he could. And to continue to spread the word of forgiveness and healing.
While being turned into a vampire was not the trauma of violence. He might have accepted the offer differently if he were in a different state of mind. One day a stranger came into town. Simone had always been friendly and open to visitors and travelers. This traveler claimed he was a Doctor, a Doctor who could hear the word of God. And that God told him to travel and cure people of their illnesses. That his medicines were more advanced than what was currently out there.
The truth about the Healer Phillip was that he was a vampire. A vampire Simone was unaware of. Phillip was the type of vampire, who watched his victims for a while before contacting them. Learn about them and know exactly what to say. He was a master manipulator, who used his medicines to convert humans of interest into vampires.
He claimed to Simone that God told him to seek him out, to reward him for his efforts. That God wanted to give him a second chance at life. So he may plan for the future accordingly. This did not mean Simone took the offer right away. He was hesitant and unsure. Truth is Simone probably subconsciously felt it was a trap, Phillip who saw Simone’s hesitancy backed off.
But he came back. A second time. Then a third time. Simone’s health in the meantime declined, as he was ravaged by the white plague. All Phillip had to do was wait. To take advantage of the lethargy and the fatigue, Simone too succumbed to decline his offer. The third time, Phillip came, Simone agreed. Reluctantly. Perhaps, he was being too cautious if this were the word of God. Maybe the further decline was God’s way of telling him to accept the offer.
Taking Phillip’s medicine, bottled in a vial. He gave no information to Simone about what it was. Instead he was told to trust in God. The medicine, bitter, and tasted of iron. It was then that Simone realized what he had accepted.
He begged Phillip to give him the truth. Though Phillip never truly did. And soon the morning after Simone's health had improved. Though it soon began to come clear to him that it came at the cost. Was this the will of God? Vampirism? Was this a test?
Soon when the sensitivity to sun came. And the hunger for blood. He wasn’t sure what was worse, the gasping for air, the coughing, the fever, and night sweats. Or the craving of blood. Why had God condemned him? If the medicine was the will of God to cure Simone of his disease. Then why had he converted him into a demon? Was this just another test?
Simone was well educated, and knew of different practices. Decided to journey, assigning the second in command to him as the Priest, while he sought to pilgrimage and lock himself away in hopes to spiritually be closer to God. Perhaps, what God wanted from him was to hear him. Perhaps, he needed to meditate, and God would end his punishment.
What sin had Simone created? Should he have turned down the stranger? Or was it because his own spirit flowed masculine and feminine? What had God deemed he had done wrong to punish him?
In 1568 on a religious pursuit to be redeemed by God, Simone wandered, fighting the urge to feed, or really he locked himself into a vault, where he waited to hear the word of God. He stayed there meditating, waiting to hear the word of God in order to ask him for his forgiveness. Over the course of three hundred and eighty seven years, of which he was unaware of that much time passing, Simone subsisted on small animal blood. Like rodents, and snakes. It’s what kept him alive.
What woke him from his meditating was the sound of the vault opening. When Simone awoke, it was in the 1950s. Specifically 1955. The world had changed. There were strangers investigating the vault, he fled as to not be discovered by them. But years of isolation, and subsisted living left Simone weakened.
He felt truly abandoned by God. Once he realized how much the world had changed without him. How long he had been in that vault. With no word. It is probably then that Simone felt abandoned. He felt like God had turned his back on him. Simone realized then that he was merely conned into this life. That there was likely no word of God.
It’s then he decided to embrace his change. In 1955, it was the first time Simone fed on human blood. Draining his victim dry due to the intense hunger he felt.
Now Simone just wants to make sense of who he is. He’s been aimlessly wandering with no purpose after he woke. He wants to find a purpose. People who love him. Friends perhaps. If he has been given another chance at life, then, what is that chance?
Outfit for the Party
Instead of a beautifully decorated masks Simone chooses to wear a tragedy mask, that completely covers his face. And after a complaint from some of the others, that he cannot wear his normal clothes that look like vestments in the party. He chooses to wear a dress of his own design:

It is probably well known that Simone makes his own clothes, and is willing to offer his services to those who ask. If you need a dress or something fixed, most go to him, he is more than willing to help. If it wasn't obvious he no longer is a follower of the Catholic faith. Despite him clinging to a sense of his old identity, it was a large part of who he was. Simone probably leans agnostic, though he doesn't believe in God. He does believe there is a greater magic to the world. He's probably more spiritual now than he is religious.
