Amy's brows once again knitted together as Daniel gave the man the all clear and suggested he come along. This was definitely making things harder, as they would now need even more supplies as well as keeping an eye on this man for anything unwelcome. She leaned forwards in her chair and put her hands together, looking at the floor as she thought about it. She shook her head, "More people makes this harder" she said before looking up at Daniel, "It means more chance of being seen, more supplies needed and it's asking we trust a complete stranger" she said before exhaling a long breath. She technically was still a stranger. "Look, if you truly believe this guy can keep up and be useful then I'll follow your word on it. But if this backfires on us, it's going to be on your head" she said without any sign of harsh tones or threat in her words. She was simply saying that he would have to live with whatever the consequence could be of it. "As for you" she said looking to Enrique. "These are good people. If you do anything which I might consider threatening to them I will personally see to it you don't make it back" she said before she stood up, walking over before holding out her gloved hand to Enrique, "My name is Amelia, former regiment gunner for the Royal Air Force. It's nice to meet you" she said, offering a small smile.

Rob- Haywood - Guards

Rob stayed as still as a statue. Oh great job, Six months in and your probably going to die by tripping on a stick, I mean really Rob? That's the best you could do. You could at least do some awesome....well, at least heroic sacrifice but nope... Just had to fall over and get shot.....maybe. Rob listened as the guards talked. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. A bullet was shot, "Gah..." Rob bit his lip and looked at the sky. "Let's try not to be shot right away" Rob tilted his head as he stood up.
"Don't shoot, I just stumbled and tripped. Not that I woul-....What I mean is don't shoot me. That says enough right?" Rob frowned as he looked upon the guards,

"Really? Now? Fine whatever. I wouldn't know how to "go out" That's just silly. There's a million ways to go out. I could fall over and explode....Don't ask me how but it could happen! I could get mauled by kittens!? I mean, Dying in my sleep peacefully is nice. But so is Saving Orphans from a burning church! There's no way to know how we are going to die. We all know it's going to happen. But...All we can hope is that our last thought is a good one. Or maybe I'm just being one of those guys"

Daniel - Garage - OG Gang

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." He'd heard his Mother say this many times. Would this guy forget about the choice Daniel was about to make?

Daniel nodded. "Alright..." HE walked back to the table and grabbed his rucksack, pulling the tomahawk from the strap and twirled it a few times in his palm. "I'm ready to go; I'll wait for you at the truck outside." He went out the side door towards the truck after grabbing his Keffiyeh from the table and tying it around his neck.

Daniel sat against the back of the truck and contemplated what he was about to do.

Enrique took Shannon's hand and smiled, " Nice to meet you," he said. He heard the British woman speak and dropped Shannon's hand. He turned to face the British woman and listened to her speak. She mentioned more people was clumsier and that they'd need more supplies, she knew the risks and he hoped the group did too. Enrique wasnt okay being a burden, he was relieved when she introduced herself that was a sign of trust. At least in the world that used to be, however nowadays names didn't matter. Regardless she wasnt bad looking, and she certainly wasnt stupid as much as he hated to say it she was his type. He would just have to put it aside and move on.

"A pleasure to put a name to the face that had her rifle trained on me," Enrique said taking her hand and shaking it, "I wont be taking your supplies, I can take care of myself keep my own food and watch my own ass. I assure you in a firefight my guns are great in the hands of an ex army ranger, and I can cut a corpse in two. Now I know earlier you enquired about what I was packing, lemme show you."

Enrique reached into his backpack and pulled out his snub nosed shotgun, he tossed it on the table and it landed with a thud. He pulled out 2 boxes of shells and set them next to the shotgun. He unzipped the front pocket and pulled out his fathers pistol and pulled the slide back, he smiled when it clicked into place. He set it on the table and looked at the group.

Eli - Road to Haywood

"Your wife is happy - Your wife is happy - Your wife is happy - Your wife is happy - Your wife is happy - Your wife is hap......"

Eli stared at the hard sand beneath his feet, which looked like rugged sawdust at the time. But why? He turned to his right to see a large wooden wall being hung up by a large mechanical crane. To his left, a dog, barking at him, rushing towards his legs, playing around them. Eli's eyes became colored in Satan's image. They burned as confusion ran down his spine from the tip of his brain. He once again found himself staring at his feet, his boots suddenly were damped in water. As he returned his gaze to the right, the wall had been buried in the profound lake. The dog that stood next to him had drowned along with it. But as he faced up, he saw his wife. Standing there, shining like an angel sent from heaven. It was a beautiful sight, like the one dream a person wakes and remembers.

"Iman, Iman......I'm sorry baby. I-I....Those people....they needed to survive. I had no choi-"

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" she yelled, her voice as deep as the growl of a grizzly. Her skin then started to shatter and became contaminated in darkness. Her eyes pitch black and her angel wings burst into flames. She fell to her knees and started to disperse into ash. She shrieked in pain, a bodily pain that cannot be met by any sort of torment. "Baby NO!!!" Eli yelled, running towards her, but only getting further away. This abnormality was the mental vengeance Eli had to suffer every time his wife was mentioned. He lost himself in a trance that could not be broken until he witnesses his wife get submerged into the marine.

Then his vision returns. The dirt again beneath his feet. The walls built like catacombs, racing down the aisles to see cells filled with slaves. He watched the guards quiet and waiting for his departure.

"You know how the deal works from here. If you find the agreement honorable, then meet us at the gates of Haywood anytime at sunrise with the supplies demanded. We will then exchange for the girl" he said as he started down the hall. He didn't bother to stare into the cells, afraid his wife would recognize him is she was there. "I'll kill him" Eli murmured to himself as he saw the light of day dawning away. His men pulled the truck out of the parking slot and began to load their leader. "Are you okay sir?"

"Let's go soldiers, we don't have time for chit chatter" Eli commanded.

"Yes sir! Round it up gents, lets get going!" the commanding officer said, closing the van's sliding door and entering the passenger seat. "Boys, are y'all ready for retaliation?" Eli announced to the soldiers.

"What do you mean sir? Against Tyler?"

"No. Were taking over Haywood"
Floyd - Arena - Raiders/The Bull

With the stench of black walker blood all over his arms, Floyd couldn't get away from the aroma of death. Walkers lay on the sands of the dome, motionless, facing death yet again, this time, for good. He was stained in dirt, facing not only physical fatigue, but mental. He was locked in a situation that he couldn't escape. Usually, he wouldn't run from a fight, but a fight he was forced into was a different thing. What was next? Floyd questioned everything now, but still believed in his logic - there aren't good people out in this new world.

Then the applause started, the thundering clap that echoed through the halls. So many people there to watch him fight walkers, something that nowadays happened everyday without authority. Forced into battle, he was used to entertain the pirates that surrounded the Colosseum. These was not the Roman Empire, yet he felt a gladiator and slave to their oppression.

The golem then started towards him, followed by his gargoyles, armed to the tip of their heads. Their rifles faded black, just like the walker blood that composed seventy percent of Floyd's persona. They seemed to take precaution, facing Floyd as if he were hostile. At this point, Floyd couldn't fight even if he wished, his arms weren't even responding to his nervous system or whatever system helps them move. Floyd isn't a science nerd. Anyhow, once 'The Bull' stood before him, taking the knife from the ground, Floyd started to look around his circumference. He watched all the raiders stare directly at him, some smiling, some pissed that he hadn't died in battle. His eyes were clinching together, hardly opened. Sweat had poured down his medium-length hair. Then the beast broke Floyd's trance of thought. He threw two questions at him, questions Floyd didn't know if he should answer, or if there was a right or wrong one.

"....what kinda of things have you done to be here today?"

"What do you think it takes to survive?"

Floyd stared directly into the man's eyes. The Bull's eyes looked dark, this revealed his past to Floyd, how much of a monster he'd become after the outbreak. Floyd thought of the effects of answering the questions incorrectly. All he could think of was his demise, how he would be shot to death by a bunch of pirates. So the redneck chose to respond instead of remaining silent and still be eliminated.

With his squinting eyes, Floyd took one last direct stare into The Bull's dark pupils.

"You do whatever ya have to, that's what it takes."
Haywood Guards - Gates - Rob

The guards paused their shooting as they heard a voice call out to them. It was most definitely a man's voice, rugged and raspy, or so it seemed. The guards walked towards the words, finally reaching the man who will later be known as Rob. "Who the hell are you? Why the f*ck are you hiding the these woods huh? Are you one of those raiders? Answer dammit!" one of the guards yelled as two others closed in from all sides.

All of them had this man targeted as hostile. One of the three soldiers got a foot from Rob and started to remove the visible weapons. "I'm confiscating them, don't you dare move" that soldier announced quietly as the head guard continued to ask questions.

"Did Tyler send you? Huh?! Is he trying to go against our deal or something? He trying to cross us? Dammit why aren't you speaking?!" he angered. Two other soldiers took the position of those three soldiers at the gate for the time being. Nobody was allowed to leave as far as half-a-mile from Haywood unless Bruce or Eli stated otherwise.

Brad - Catacombs

The second-in-command watched the man leave. Good riddance. He turned to his boss, who was pouring over the contents of the letter. Tyler had donned a look of annoyance after Eli had left, but whatever was in the letter was now making the man smiled. Brad felt a pang of irritation. "How much do they want this time?" he asked.

Tyler barely acknowledged him. "Triple."

"That's too much. After the last one, you said we would-"

"This one is pregnant, Brad, so I need you to shut your mouth." Tyler looked into the shorter man's eyes. It was intimidating and captivating all at once. "Can I trust you, Brad?"

Brad nodded profusely. He hated all of this, having to gather women for Tyler. What did Tyler need with women? They had everything they would ever need, right there in the hideout. All Tyler needed was his second-in-command, and his force of loyal men. Together, they could take the world by storm, none of this other bullshit required.

Still, Brad would do just about anything for this man.

Tyler smiled at him, a smile that warmed Brad. "Then take these papers and gather what they're asking for," Tyler said.

As if taking sacred documents, Brad grabbed the papers and hurried deeper into the catacombs.

Katie - Underground - Time to Play

The little girl skipped along the hall. "Daddy!" she called out. "Daddy!"
She ended up turning a corner and smacking into one of her daddy's men. He helped her up. "Katie, you shouldn't be wandering around like this. You might get in trouble."
Katie sighed the sigh of a bored little girl. "I don't want to stay in my room anymore. I want to play."
"You can paly by yourself. Everyone is busy."
Katie pouted. "I want my daddy to play with me."
"He's ah... busy."
"He's always busy," Katie complained sadly and folded her arms, frowning.

It was true. Whenever she wanted her daddy she was told the same thing : he was busy. Everyone was always busy. She didn't want to ever be a grownup. They had no fun.
"Come on, let's get you back to where you belong," the man said and reached for her hand. Katie dodged and took off, giggling.
"Come back here!" he shouted at her and chased her. Katie giggled. She was faster then him. He was fat and slow.
She scrambled up into a dry drainage pipe and laughed as the man tried to reach her but couldn't. She stuck her tongue out at him and crawled off into the pipe. If he wouldn't take her to her daddy, she'd find him by herself.

Katie crawled around for a little bit before she got down into an empty corridor. She heard men talking and moved quietly along the wall. Then she heard her daddy's name mentioned. He had to be around here somewhere.
Her hand was on a doorknob when she heard the distant echo of a scream.
Katie's smile faded. She froze and stared off down the hallway. The scream echoed again, making her scared. Was someone hurt? Was someone getting sick like the people above? She remembered the night she heard screaming... the night her brother had gone away...

"It's the kid!" someone shouted.
Katie scrambled as someone picked her up. She kicked and beat at them with her fists. "Put me down! I want my daddy!"
"What a damn brat," he muttered as he carried her off down the hall.
"You said a bad word! I'm gonna tell!" Katie shouted. "Daddy!"

Tyler - Catacombs - Katie

Voices traveled far in the tunnels and it wasn't long before Tyler caught wind of a small girl calling for her daddy. Putting Eli and the incoming deal out of his mind, Tyler hurried deeper into the catacombs.

When he found the man holding his daughter, Tyler glared at the man. "Come here, Katie." The man put Katie down and Tyler grabbed her hand.

"I was just-"

Tyler turned on the man, interrupting him. "You were just...?" After an uncomfortable moment of silence, Tyler shook his head. "Whatever you were doing, you're now on armory duty." The man left without protest.

They were near the dining hall, and the sound of Tyler's raised voice drew some of the men into the hall. Tyler ignored them and walked Katie away. "What were you doing outside your room?" he asked, only a little sternly.
The Bull & Lauren - Catacombs - Floyd

Bull gave Floyd's shoulder a squeeze. "Now that's what I like to hear." He turned around to the other raiders. "You two! Escort our new friend, will ya?"

Floyd was then taken back to his cell, pointedly put far away from the women. There he was to wait until a woman with bright red hair and a wiry body frame entered Floyd's cell. She carried a tray with a bowl of plain porridge and bread on it. She was one of the raiders, indicated by the rifle slung on to her back and the collection of knives she was sporting on her belt. "Here you go," she said, placing the tray on the ground. "It's not much, but we can't spare much for the..." She looked off to the side momentarily. "... prisoners."

The woman then went to leave, but she stopped at the cell door. "You know, Bull said you did really good in there. They were impressed." She then lingered, perhaps waiting on Floyd's response. It seemed she wanted to converse, at least.

Katie - Underground - Tyler

Katie lowered her head, sad at her daddy's tone. "I'm sorry daddy," she said in a small hurt puppy kind of voice. "I wanted you and they said you were busy," she hugged his leg. "You're always busy. I want you to play with me."
Ever since her brother had gone away Daddy always wanted her to stay in her room. But she got bored and lonely in there all by herself. She wanted someone to play with. But more then that, she wanted her daddy.
"Those men are loud and smelly. I want you daddy," she said, clinging to him.

Remembering what she had heard, Katie peered up at him. "Daddy? I heard someone scream. Are they sick? Are they going to go away too, like-" she almost said her brother's name but stopped. She didn't like how daddy got when someone mentioned her brother. He acted funny.

"There you are you little-!" a voice started then stopped. "Sir!" it was the man who had chased her before. "I tried to get her back to her room, but she climbed up into the pipes and I lost her."
Katie frowned and stuck her tongue out at the man. "Cuz I'm not a big dummy," she said, holding on tightly to her daddy's pant leg. She had all the courage in the world when her daddy was standing there. He would never let anything happen to her.

She tugged on his pant leg. "Can we go and play Daddy? Please? Just for a little bit?"
She had bits and pieces of broken crayons in her room waiting to be used. Even if all he did was sit in the same room with her while she drew a picture for him she'd be happy. Even though Katie was more then a little spoiled, it really didn't take much to make her happy.

Tyler looked down at his little girl. "... Katie." He crouched down next to her and hugged her. "I'm always busy because I'm busy protecting you." He began to stroke her hair. It was something he did often, something that reminded him that she was alive and that she was with him. Even sitting there and holding her, stroking her hair was what brought him back to familiar days, of a life far simpler. "I know it's hard," he said. "But I'm trying my best, Katie. With your mommy and..." Tyler couldn't bring himself to say it. "They left us, so I have my hands full."

When Katie asked about the screams, Tyler paused. He pulled away from Katie and peered into her eyes. "No one's sick. It was probably just one of the men getting excited. Voices travel really far down hear, you know."

One of the said smelly men walked up to the father and his daughter. Tyler stood up to listen to his excuses. "You're not supposed to lose her," he said, grabbing the man by the shoulder. "If I give you a job, you're supposed to do that job." Tyler looked briefly down at his daughter. "I'll speak with you later." He gave the man's shoulder a threatening squeeze before taking his daughter by the hand again. "Let's go play then, but not for too long." It was very hard to say no to Katie sometimes.

Floyd - Cell - Lauren

The stench returned as Floyd re-entered the fastened cell. The quiet also sprouted as he took a seat of helplessness. After facing off undead fiends he was forced back into captivity so the next day he could fight again. As stated before, he felt like a gladiator during the roman empire. There was no way out, the halls were empty, only guards stood post. His sight was pointless at this moment because everything seemed black. He wasn't in search of entertainment, he wasn't looking for something to take his anger up on, but freedom. All he wanted was to once again feel the fresh and peaceful air.

Floyd had never been an inside kind of guy. He's lived all his life in the fields, cruising through sunrise till dawn through the peaceful hollows. But when one's freedom is stripped of them, like that of the slaves back in the 1800's - one does not conform to such a change, instead, one revolts. If he could upraise a rebellion on his own, against the force that locks him in such environment, then he'd do it without a second thought. But the situation didn't allow such actions to be taken. He was helpless.

As he stared into the ground, laying against the cell's rusted wall, a tray of food landed before him. He noticed a hand had placed it there, so turned up to put a face to it. As his eyes adjusted to his motion, he finally noticed the figure that stood before him. Unlike most or all of the raiders, this one was a woman, an exception to the organization or something. Hesitating a little, Floyd chose not to eat in a hurry, he decided to leave the tray there while the woman spoke. He didn't want to seem as if he depended on these people, though in reality, he didn't have a choice. If he didn't eat this food that was provided, he'd eventually die of starvation, disease, or in that damn arena.

Before the woman left, she decided to tell Floyd how much that golem had enjoyed his 'performance'. She seemed bored for a reason, because she was hesitant to leave, as if she had nothing else to do but speak with a 'prisoner' as she called him.

"I don't care what you people think of me" Floyd responded in a rasped tone. His throat was dry, so he was having difficulty speaking, but was sure she could hear him. The wound on his leg had also started to bleed once again. This was due to the interaction and excess moving he'd done in the fight with the walkers. "I know what y'all are doin down here - with the women. And I get it. The whole thing is stupid, but I get it. Whoever ya take orders from, I understand what they're tryin to do here, but listen - this whole thing is a delusion. It's impossible to breed an entire world back to life and you now that. So as a woman, why the hell do you let these girls get treated like this?! As ragdolls! As slaves! Soon enough they'll run out of women and they'll f*ck you over next! There aren't good men out here and you know it. There never was. You don't hold that gun around your shoulder because ya wanna distinguish yourself as one of these pirates, you do it cuz ya scared. You think ya protected because you've got a gun don'tcha? Well newsflash lady, they outnumber you twenty to one. You protection ain't worth shit. Look here, if ya think ima beg ya to get me out these cuffs, then you're hella' wrong. I ain't beggin you for shit. All I'm sayin is that you should figure out what side you're really on, because you know damn well this ain't no place for you."

Katie - Underground - playing with Daddy
Katie stuck her tongue out at the man as they passed him. He was in trouble now.
She skipped happily to her room, her daddy in tow. She didn't let go of his hand until they were in her room, just in case he changed his mind and left.
She sat cross-legged on the floor and held out a few pieces of crayon to him. "I'll color for you Daddy," she announced and started a picture of a man and a little girl standing in the sunshine in a field of flowers. It was crude, she was only seven after all, but you could tell what it was.

Before everyone got sick they used to go to the park and play. Then afterward daddy would get Katie and her brother ice cream while mommy fussed at daddy for giving her too much sugar. But it was no mean fussing, cuz mommy always laughed while she did it.
Katie really missed that park. She missed how things used to be.
Her mommy and her big brother had gone away. If daddy went away too, she'd be all alone.

Finishing her picture, she got up with the picture in her hand and climbed into her daddy's lap, wanting to cuddle.
"Daddy?" she asked, her voice soft and fearful. "You're not going to go away too... right? I don't want you to go away."
She laid her little head against his chest, listening to him breathe. She had nightmares sometimes, about the sick people. She hated the sickness. It made so many people go away. She wanted daddy to make everyone better, but he couldn't. And that made her sad sometimes.

After a little while she looked up curiously. "Daddy? What does 'fuck' mean? I heard Barney say that he couldn't wait to fuck the new girl. Does that mean play? Is there a new girl for me to play with? Is she my age?"

Tyler? Deals? Crossings!? WHY AREN'T I SPEAKING! ..The hell were they talking about was the only thought that went through his head. He couldn't seem to get any words out, why couldn't he get any words out! Words were a tricking thing some times. This was a really bad time for them to be tricky.
"I have no idea what your talking about, I don't know any Tyler or deal or Raiders? I was just wandering around Okay! I don't know if you notice but you can't stay in one place without supplies!" Rob blundered out. Well, He still had supplies but, he didn't want to go back on his words.
Rob clenched his fists as they took his weapons, He liked that baseball bat. Well, Anything that keeps saving your life you grow to like. Times like these he wished he a super secret dagger in his boot or some thing.

Amelia nodded, "Not bad" she replied honestly, noting the reasonable condition of the shotgun. "Now hurry and get your stuff back together, we're moving out" she said before giving a clear nod towards Shannon. She headed for the door, pushing it open as she walked out into the cold crisp air of New Orleans. She gave a look to the sky to check on the weather before walking towards Daniel, giving him a 'you sure?' as she passed him, climbing onto the back of the truck. She took her M4 carbine from her back, placing the stock down between her legs as she sat facing away opposite of the drivers seat. Amelia would wait for everyone to be ready in the truck before tapping the side of it twice to let whoever was driving know they were ready to move out.

Tyler - Katie's Room - Katie

Tyler sat across from Katie, on the other side of little red carpet he'd found for her room. The room wasn't much to look at, even if it was the nicest room in the hideout. It had been impossible to get a bed frame down there, so all Katie had was two mattresses stacked on top of each other. Tyler had given her the softest sheets he could find; Quilt blankets covered in hearts, flowers, or whatever girly pattern he could find. He had men come down and change Katie's sheets most ever day. It was a pain to do, as the men had to carry the sheets aboveground just to wash them. Lauren in particular did this job the most, as she seemed to be one of the few to even enjoy Katie's presence. The rest of them simply tolerated the child of their intimidating boss. Tyler was glad to have Lauren for this reason, at least.

He stared at Katie now, his eyes on her innocent face and the cute little picture. It felt almost unreal, that his innocent little girl could still exist in this crazy world. Everyone here was sick, and not just with the virus. They were all sick and corrupted; a mere shadow of their former selves. Tyler could not afford his little girl to become like the rest of them, even if he was forced to keep her in this dank dungeon. When Katie climbed into his lap, Tyler held her and whispered softly into her ear. He assured her that he would never leave her, no matter what happened. Never ever ever-

"Daddy? What does 'fuck' mean?"

It took Tyler a moment to respond.

"That's a bad word, Katie. It means to... mess with someone. Barney probably just wants to play a prank on the new girl." He closed his eyes. "And she's not your age, dear. She's Lauren's age. She's not going to be around long... she's just visiting."

Eli/Bruce - Haywood Annexation

As the gates to Haywood remained locked and guarded, a black van started to reach the complex's perimeter. The two guards speaking to the stranger (Rob), pulled away from the survivor and headed to the van. The color already gave away whom was inside, but it was protocol to check anyway. As they approached the vehicle, the guards by the gates pointed their weapons at the van. The stranger was completely ignored at this time, they had more important matters at hand.

The van's window opened slowly as instructed and since the guard noticed who the driver was, he turned to the gate guards and nodded. "All clear!" the guard yelled, allowing the gates to be pulled open by shear force of man. The squeak echoed through Haywood, allowing all the citizens know the gates had been opened and somebody was entering. When this happened, nosy tenants would peek out their windows and watch whomever entered their home. It was usually just in-and-out between the guards, Bruce Levi, or Eli. Hardly ever did they allow new survivors to enter their facility, unless they were women, but they usually left within a week or two. The tenants believed the women were moved to a more secure location outside of Haywood and into another complex known as Nirvana. This was obviously a lie distributed to everyone by their Mayor and his assistant.

"Before you enter, what do you want us to do with the survivor?" the guard asked the driver. The driver of course turned to Eli who was sitting in the back, and repeated the guard's question. "We are about to begin the operation. Follow procedures as planned. Today Haywood belongs to the people. Today we overthrow the throne" Eli instructed. The van then started froth, entering the complex, the guards outside locking the gates behind them.

The tow guards that were once with the survivor returned to him. "You will have to wait until further notice. We won't allow you to enter the city until we are allowed to. If you attempt anything, we have orders to put you down" the guard informed Rob. Unfortunately, Rob tried to join them at the wrong time.

As the van parked, Eli was the first to get out, followed by the men sitting in the back with him, then the driver and front passenger. All of them headed towards the confined zone of Haywood, prepared to enter the administration office, or as Eli calls it, the throne. Soldiers standing guard around the complex interior noticed the formation and joined it. Without having to be told, they knew exactly what was going on. So now, every guard that was inside the city and not guarding the gates were huddled behind Eli and heading towards the man of the hour, Bruce Levi.

As they reached the steps, everyone waited with their rifles ready and behind their new leader, Elijah Haywood. The man was basically a democrat, doing everything by the will of the people, focused on their success rather than his own. Some may say Bruce Levi was the same way, but unlike Bruce, Eli decided that everything, including laws, rations, medicine, scheduling, etc., should be decided by the majority, not by one man. Bruce Levi was a monarch, he did everything by his personal agenda. Even though the people were happy living in Haywood under Bruce's jurisdiction, none of them knew exactly what went on underneath their noses. Nobody knew of this underground trade, nobody other than the guards and Eli, his right hand man.

"BRUCE LEVI! Come on out you monster!" Eli yelled, the men behind him holding conversations in the meantime. "We've been caged by your terror for long enough! You've taken our women, our wives! For some, our daughters!" he continued, turning to meet the eyes of some of his companions. Most of the women that were traded were mothers and wives. About ten percent were young girls, daughters of the men that held their weapons high. The citizens exited their rooms and watched from afar, knowing they were not allowed in confidential territory without a pass. "Come out Bruce, tell these people your secrets, because if you don't, I shall!" Eli yelled on last time, making sure Bruce could hear him from wherever he was.

During this rant, Bruce sat in his leather chair drinking from his glass. He ticked his finger on the wooden desk nervously. "Damn traitor. What led him to such choice?" he questioned, walking up the entrance of the entire building. He looked out the blinds and saw all the soldiers were with him. "So this wasn't a last minute thing. He must have been planning this for a while. Fuck!" Bruce cursed, throwing his glass on the ground, the entire thing shattering. Bruce walked side to side for a couple seconds, thinking of a game plan to battle this raid, but nothing came to mind. There was no other exit, the building was made that way. He felt the sensation that he would be killed by men he'd kept protected for almost a year. He'd been giving them everything they needed to survive, but in the process, stripped them of their women. The only thing is, if he hadn't done what he did, they wouldn't be in such a great position in this hellhole.

The doors then opened quickly, clashing against the side of the building. Bruce Levi stood at the entrance, his hands by his side. He didn't speak at all, just stared into the eyes of his ex-assistant. "As instructed I headed to the raider camp...." Eli started. "....As always I handed him the module of trade. For all that do not know, we obtain all our resources from a pack of raiders!" Eli yelled, letting all the people of Haywood listen to this rant.

"Shut your damn mouth!" Bruce called out to Eli. His eyes dilated from all the fear that ran through his bones. The truth was about to be revealed and there was nothing he could do about it.....or was there?

"We do not take women to.....to this 'Nirvana'! Instead, this man right here...." Eli pointed at Bruce. ".......This man has us trade our women into slavery. In return, we get food, medicine, water, weapons, and everything else we deem necessary! For so long have we been going through this process. Many of these men behind me have lost their wives. I have lost my wife! I have also fell a victim to this 'king'!...." again he pointed. "....But no more! Haywood, named after me, must become a democracy! The people are the will, not you! Never you! You will no longer hold us captive to your reign! WE DO NOT FEAR!"

Eli then started to walk towards Bruce. The men behind him remained still, just watched their new leader face off against the fallen king. "This is annexation. We as people, as equals, take over Haywood as our own. You no longer rule here Bruce, you are here by banis-"

The last word of his speech was cut off as a shot rang out. The guards raised their weapons and pointed them at the 'king'. Eli fell to his knees as blood poured from his appendix, flooding the ground with red. The pistol used to fire the gun then landed alongside the red, getting tinted in the color. The entire event went down so fast that all the guards did was react. As Bruce placed his hands behind his head, the guards merely apprehended him. Most of them were more worried about their future leader. They rushed to his side for aid.

In the meantime, Bruce was taken captive and escorted to the one place prisoners were meant to be held, the cell. The cell guards opened the door to the building, inside, the pregnant girl, still strapped to the chair as if a slave. Once the uninformed guards were informed that the operation had already taken progress, they let the girl free of the chains. As a guard helped her stand and balance, Bruce was quickly brought in to take her place. On the way there, the man had been beaten half to death for what he had done. They placed him on the chair and strapped him in. "Guess......I'm here to......relieve you" Bruce told the girl with a smile, which in effect, was punched directly across the face. He spat out blood onto the side as one of the guards turned to the girl. "Here" he said, handing her a crowbar. "I apologize for everything you and your child have been put through, but it was he who did this. He forced fear into all our beings, punish him as you see fit. It was Eli's last wish." The guards then left the room, leaving only the girl and her child's father.

"What.....are you waiting on? HUH?! Isn't......isn't this what.....you wanted? Yeah......I remember. I always remembered you. I left you with that other......other girl. The soldier-like one. Did....she die?................Never mind, it doesn't matter. So? Are you....gonna kill me? What are you waiting on? DO IT! SHOW THEM! SHOW ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT NOBODY IS DIFFERENT! SHOW THEM THAT IN THE END, WE ARE ALL KILLERS!!" Bruce yelled, finally showing his true colors. He'd always been so collective and calm, but now, in a time of despair, he'd become weak. As of now, everyone in Haywood was confused. Eli, the supposed new leader had been killed by the old one, and everyone was in panic. "They all say that they'll no longer deal with the raiders, with Tyler, but that's not true. Even.....even if you kill me.......They'll be coming to get you. How do you think they'll get food and medicine? Hunting? Gathering? No! They're just having you......kill me so that my blood isn't on their hands. So that if it all fails, you're the one to blame. They'll say that Elijah and you were working together to overthrow me. That's what they'll do. Think about it. Why didn't they just kill me in town? Oh yeah, you don't know what happened do you? All of them, the guards, Eli..........they all came to my office and started ranting about my ideals to the public. Eli tried to kill me, but I shot first. Now i'm here. With you! So if you're not going to kill me, then leave! I don't want you to be the last thing I see, because you're pitiful! That child will burn in hell just like I will! It may be mine, but it means nothing to me. You're just another whore I fucked, that's it. Don't think yourself special because you had sex with an important figure. Nowadays, it doesn't matter. Nobody is gonna care for someone like you because you're a liability. How do you plan to have that child huh? In this world? No! It'll die before it is born and so will you! SO NOW KILL ME DAMMIT! I've got nothing else to live for. I've lost my world, my kingdom. There's nothing else I desire but death."

Jess - Haywood - Decisions
Jess was jerked from her sleep by the sound of the door opening. As the man talked she tried to make sense of what was happening.
She gasped when she realized that not only was she free, but Bruce was the one tied now. He was the prisoner.
Before she could even process this a crowbar was placed in her hand and the men left. She stared at the weapon, trying to make sense of their words.

Eli was dead?
Bruce was overthrown?
They wanted her to kill Bruce?

Before she could fully think about doing anything Bruce started to talk, doing what he did best : yelling at her and tearing her down with his words. All he ended up doing was confusing her. Did he want her to kill him or not? He kept changing his mind. One thing didn't change though. His words still hurt.
Jess only stared during his rant that was sounding more crazed by the second. She felt that she saw him, truly saw him for the first time.
He was a bully. He was a tyrant. But he was also a man who was scared. Scared that everything he had built was crumbling beneath him. Actually it was.

But instead of making her happy, it made her feel sorry for him.

She lifted the crowbar... and tossed it aside.
Kneeling before him, she took his face in her hands. "If you are going to die, it will not be by my hands. There has been too much death... too much hatred... I will not kill you so that you can escape from this. You have run from everything. Now you are going to have to live with your cowardice."
She stood upright. "And yes, you are a coward. To say such things to me, such horrible awful things, you are a coward. You feel like you have to use words and violence to make people obey you. A leader isn't made from violence, he is made by the people who follow him. Look around you. If you were a better leader they wouldn't have been able to do this to you. Your people would have fought for you. But that is your own fault. Do not take it out on me."

She stroked her stomach with her hands. "You do not want me here, so I will leave. Should you change your mind some day, I will not keep your child from you, should you want to see him... or her..." she lifted her head, a new look in her eyes. "But do not believe that because you don't want me that no one will. I want to be wanted by a real man, not a coward who needs to hurt people in order to feel important. Because in the end, that kind of importance is an illusion."
A smile actually lit up her face, bringing a warmth to her eyes. "I think I may have already met someone. I think... he already cares about me, so maybe... just maybe, he could grow to feel something for me. He is the kind of man you could only hope to become."

Jess took a deep breath, ready to endure whatever venom he was going to spit at her. She just kept Floyd in her mind's eye. Thinking of him and his bravery would make her strong enough to endure this.
"Despite everything, I do hope that you get everything you want Bruce. I am truly sorry for whatever happened to you to make you this way, but I will not let you make me like you. I... I forgive you, Bruce. I forgive you because I do not want hatred within me anymore."

Daniel glanced momentarily back at James and Polyester, and the leaned against the truck, waiting for Shannon and Enrique. "You'd be surprised....."

“Riverwalk”

The old man's travels have lead him to a place of interest along the waterside of the muddy waters of the mississippi river, a docked remodeled old steam river boat that was used during the 1800s. His faithful four legged companion was at his side and was already sniffing the air. She was a chihuahua with short legs, small body and barked alot when a stranger would come near. She had her good and bad points but depending on the way that the dog helped you stay alive was a good thing to the old man.

The make shift raft that was fashioned by wires, cables and telephone logs had lasted the old man for these several weeks on the intracoastal waterway of the mighty mississippi. The fishing was good and plentiful as the two traveled along the waterway. difficult at time but not so bad that one would want to travel the roads or streets with the dead milling about. The dead moved sometimes as a group, alone or a heard as he has heard from time to time with other survivors.

Minutes before the old man was going to dock the makeshift raft that he made, he threw out three cinder blocks that were tired to the corners of the raft. After floating closer to the cement decking the old man picked up his furry companion, looked before picking up one of three prepositioned poles and then used it to gentle vault to shore with ease thanks to the muddy waters of the mighty Mississippi.

landing with ease the old man began to survey this unknown area with disdain. The streets were dingy, marred with trash and marks of fires burned long ago. He looked at his self winding pocket railroad watch. 0712 hours it read as he then clicked the cover back into place.

Removing his friend from it’s holding place on his three day butt pack, the old man dismounted the dog to walk or run freely. “ Which way to go girl?” he ask his friend as the dog sniffed the air and began to trot down canal st. “ That way it is then “ the old man chuckled to himself as he began to follow the dog from a distance.

Bruce - Truth/Lie - Jess

Bruce's face was face palmed with desperation. One couldn't decipher if the water that ran his cheeks were from tears or sweat. His black blood continue to dissipate across the concrete below him. It created small puddles here and there. The guards remained outside, waiting on Jessalyn to due her bidding. They all wanted to honor Eli's last wish to rid of Bruce by the hand of his greatest treasure.

After a reluctant silence, Bruce raised his head, enduring the muscular pain. One of his eyes was completely shut from the swelling. His other eye though, remained intact and completely functional. He stared at her intensely, forcing her to stare back. Then the man started to shake his head left and right, east and west. "I didn't mean to do it. I didn't mean to force these men to lose their women" he said, suddenly breaking out into a sob. Each breath he took was different than the last. His anxiety was causing him to have dilated gasping patterns. Nobody had ever seen Bruce this low before, this was a first. "I.......I never meant to hurt you either Jessalyn. That day - the day I wronged you - I did it because I was afraid. I promised you safety yet I failed to provide it, instead, I ran away and hid from what I did. And even know, just before you forgave me, I wronged you again. I just can't commit to this, to our child. How can I bring our kid into a world like this? Tell me? How can you believe everything will be alright? HOW?!! When I lead Haywood, I had to make decisions that no other human being would have ever made. I had to take away my friends' wives, for some their daughters, do you think I don't regret it? I DO! ALWAYS! It haunts me daily. At first I didn't know what would happen to them, but then realized what Tyler was doing. I know, believe me, I know that I'm no perfect being. I've sinned too many times that not even God can give me pardon. But even though I've faced many sorrowful difficulties I have indeed accomplished things. I've provided survivors with a safe haven for nearly a year. I've given them a house, food, water, medicine, a job - I've given them a purpose. I've not only saved people, I've started a revolution. Tyler informed me once that he'd wish to create such an organization as Haywood. He envied my creation. I met a man who traveled from Alabama who said him and his people had also set up a small complex such as Haywood. He said their location was walker free, not an undead bastard in sight. But most importantly, fate reunited us. Though I've showed no remorse, the truth is, I never stopped loving you. From the day we crossed paths right after the outbreak, I have never stopped loving you. I know I left, but that was because I feared having to lose you in the future. I know you still feel for me too, I can see it. You bare our child, please don't let those men out there take its father away. I want to help you, but I need you to help me first. You need to stop them from killing me, because you know they will. Please, if not for me, then for the child. I'm begging you to help me so that I can provide our child a healthy life. We have everything we need in Haywood. I need you."
