A New Generation of Hunters-
A Supernatural Adventure

The world had always been a chaotic place. Vampires, werewolves, djinn, wendigo and who knows what else ran free- attacking whoever crossed their path on a bad day. Vampires attacked a small farmhouse on the outskirts of a backwoods town in the middle of November, the smell of cooking dinner gone wrong attracting their need to feed. As the wife and mother of two nursed her slides thumb, they attacked in the dark. Cutting the power, stalking the family, laughing at their screams... That night the Hall family lost Grandma, and Ben to the creature of the night that plague their dreams; and control their nightmares.

At 12 years old, Margret Hall was introduced into the bloodthirsty world of the supernatural, brought into a new lifestyle of hunting, protecting, and learning by her parents who swore that they would never become that vulnerable to something inhuman again. Margret, who prefers to go by Maggie accepted this world, longing to avenge her little brother Ben who was pulled from her grasp too soon. Now she was being taught to shoot a gun, fire a bow and arrow, what to use against a vampire, a werewolf, a hybrid, or anything. Her family wasn’t accepted at first into the community of hunters until they made their first mission a successful trip, bringing back the head of the coven for questioning. That night something in Maggie changed and she realized what she knew she had to grow up to become.

But this world was in the middle of its own storyline besides the one focused on the Hall family. The Winchesters lived in this timeline, and were doing what they did best, kicking down doors and marking down tallies to their books- saving the world again and again from the likes of Chuck and Crowley, even Billie on occasion. But time did what time does best- and it moved on. The world had it’s day, Jack became the new god and Rowena sacrificed herself to rule hell in tandem with the Nephilim.

More time passed, and Samuel Winchester lost his big brother on a hunt, navigating the world without his number one. He got married, he settled down with her and finally created the family that he craved so much. He had children, naming his first after the one who always had his back: Dean. He affectionately called him DJ, or Dean Jr, and DJ grew up in a world with some order thanks to the partnership between Jack and Rowena but helping his father when creatures got out of line or rebelled against the ‘rules’.

As he grew up, Sam stopped hunting more and DJ took up the Winchester mantle of saving people, hunting things. The family business. That was where Maggie met him on a hunt and before they knew it- the next generation of Winchesters was born not the world, rightfully so named Bobby and Mary. Now Maggie was taking on the mantle and becoming the matriarch of her family and collecting a group of hunters to travel with her, individuals who were capable of empathy and understanding, either before or after taking out a nest of something that goes bump in the night.

A new generation of hunters was about to be gathered and the world was not ready for her new defenders.

Maggie Winchester

"You have got to be kidding me...." She sighed, shaking her head as she stood in the kitchen, trying not to lose her cool as she remembered that we were all human, and we all made mistakes in this bunker. But whoever emptied the last of the coffee never made a new batch and that was the last straw! The twins both had nightmares the previous evening, DJ handled Mary while Maggie dealt with Robert and he was practically inconsolable about it! Cost her a good two and a half hours of sleep on top of already getting to bed late planning the next mission.

"I just needed a little bit of coffee to feel human again!" She groaned and slumped herself over the counter, slamming her hand down on the butchers block before letting out an exhausted sigh and picking her head up to examine what to do next with her sleep deprived brain. She was thankful for her kids, but more thankful to have the bunker and the current crew running about to keep her motivated and focused. Better than when it was just Dean and herself, working with Rowena whenever she decided to show her face and attempting to secure any deals with Jack but the kid never answered. That was starting to become a problem- Jack just ignoring them. She understood that he said he would be a bit hands off but no one expected him to be THIS hands off. It was like he didn't exist! If Sam never had proof of what he was like on earth with pictures and endless stories Maggie would swear up, down, and sideways that he wasn't real.

Rosalie had woken early that morning, not being able to sleep due to nightmares plaguing her dreams that morning. If she hadn’t chosen a room away from Dean and Maggie, there was no way she would have gotten as much sleep as she did but she still felt rather tired from getting to bed late from pouring herself over books. She had once again found herself in the library of the bunker, pouring herself over the many books that it held. Since meeting Dean and Maggie, and being invited to stay in the bunker, she was determined to read every book it held at least once. And of course, she had to go through and look at every item that had been collected and cataloged. For someone that had grown up without the knowledge of the Supernatural until later in life, and to hear about the Winchesters and what they did. This place was a treasure trove of knowledge and a way to somewhat step into the shoes of the Winchester’s. Rose still craved for more information about the Winchester’s, most of all Dean after hearing some of what her father told her about him.

She also wished she could have met the man and picked his brain and learned from him. Though she did learn that she had some things in common with him, like her love for rock music, burgers, the way she felt about her car, the need to save the innocent, and putting family and friends before herself. She saw him as a family member she never had the chance to meet because of certain circumstances that got in the way. Rose understood why Dean would have himself erased from her father’s and grandmother's memory but at the same time wished he hadn’t had it done. She often thought about talking to Jack about him but with him being so hands-off and not answering them, it just wasn’t possible.

Rose finally pulled herself from the books she was elbow deep in for hours and went to the garage to work on her car, something she did when she needed to get her mind on other things and clear it. Working under the hood of her car with music going had an odd calming effect on her as well. After taking a good amount of time to fix most of the damages from the last case, Rose pulled herself from under the hood when her stomach announced it needed to be fed. She then put her tools away and wiped her hands on an old rag that sat nearby, before closing the hood and making her way up the stairs that led back to the main part of the bunker. As she neared the kitchen, Rose could hear Maggie’s voice coming from within it, a small smirk slowly came to her lips. Stopping in the doorway, she folded her arms across her chest and leaned against the frame of the doorway, her gaze focused on Maggie and her small smirk still resting on her lips as she watched and listened to her.

“Having a bit of a rough morning, are we?” Rose teased Maggie. Uncrossing her arms as she pushed off the doorway and walked over to the sink to wash her hands. “And this is one reason why I’m glad I don’t rely on coffee to wake me up and get me going in the mornings.” she laughed softly as she dried off her hands. After folding the towel and placing it back near the sink, she then walked over to Maggie, took her gently by the shoulders, and led her to the table. “Have a seat and I’ll start a new pot for you.” She smiled softly as she gently pushed Maggie to sit in a chair, then walked back over to the coffee pot to make some more coffee for the sleep-deprived woman. Once the coffee was going, she grabbed a cup and sat it on the counter in front of the coffee pot before turning and facing Maggie, crossed her arms over her chest, and leaned against the counter. “Have you caught wind of anything this morning?” Once the coffee was done, she poured a cup for Maggie and took it to her with a warm smile resting on her lips before turning and going and making herself a bowl of cereal and sitting down at the table across from Maggie.

"Gah!" Maggie jumped out of her skin and spun around hearing Rose behind her in the doorway to the kitchen. Did people knock? Or at least walk heavy enough so she could anticipate a voice just coming out of nowhere? "Rose, oh my god you walk so quietly..." She half exclaimed, half sighed as she looked at the young woman before her with tired eyes. In this state, she wasn't surprised that she could just read her like a book considering how her night has done. Both kids had nightmares, which was rare. But poor Bobby, DJ shouldn't have been telling them scary stories before bed he had such an active imagination at his age. His poor mind didn't need to be fixating on vampires before going to bed! He was so scared that he was going to be bitten and then have to be beheaded... Oh DJ got an earful from her when they settled back into bed.

"I know I look, well, like a tired mom. The twins had nightmares and Bobby was a bit hysterical so it took quite a while to calm his little mind down. He has an overactive imagination- like his mother." She joked a little, not minding the slight dig at herself as Rosalie gently led her away from the counter and sat her in the chair to make a pot of coffee. She was quiet, listening to her speak here and there until a steaming mug of freshly brewed life source was place in front of her and she smiled, giving a nod of gratitude before bringing it to her lips and sighing as it filled her mouth. A stiff mug of black coffee was all she needed to wake right up no matter what had happened the night before.

"Speaking of that," she finally quipped when she mug was lowered back onto the table. "DJ said he heard about a few things but they're a bit far. New Mexico had small cases- nothing the local hunters can't figure out. But there looked to be a djinn in Maine, and some vampires in Washington. Unfortunately nothing central." She listed off what her husband had looked up last night before going to bed. He weirdly enough enjoyed looking up cases for us, reminding Maggie of his father every so often.

Rosalie couldn’t stop the smile that came to her lips and the small laugh when she announced her presence to Maggie, her reaction and words had forced the smile to her lips. It wasn’t the first time she had heard the words, her father, mother, and grandmother had all told her the same thing when she was younger. She could think back on times when she had scared all three by coming upon them quietly and startled them and they would laugh about it. It also proved to be a great skill for when she was in school and was bullied, she had used her quietness and small size to her advantage and put a stop to it in a hurry.

When Rose led Maggie to the table, she nodded to Maggie's words with a small laugh at the joke she made. She did look like a tired mom but that was to be expected after losing sleep when it came to trying to calm down your child from a horrible nightmare. Both her parents had done the same with her on many occasions. What was it with men telling their children scary stories before bed? Was it some sort of test to see how much they could tell them before they were beyond terrified? After taking a seat at the table, she watched Maggie for a moment before looking down at her bowl, taking her spoon, and bringing a bite to her mouth. When Maggie answered her question, she looked up from her bowl and nodded as she spoke. New Mexico, Maine, and Washington. That is a bit far. she thought to herself. Setting her spoon back in her bowl, she chewed the bite she was working on and swallowed. “Then I guess it looks like we’re going on a road trip.” she said in an upbeat tone, trying to make light of the news.

“Or were you thinking of flying?” she added. As much as she disliked flying, she’d do it just to make sure a monster was dealt with so it couldn’t kill or harm any more innocent people. “I’m up for either way as long as it means some monsters are dealt with…. That is if you plan on going that far. I know it’ll be a bit difficult with the twins.” Rose then fell silent to hear what Maggie had to say about the trip. As she waited for her response, she went back to eating her breakfast before it could get too soggy. Even if Maggie didn’t go, just to stay behind with the twins, Rose felt the need to go just to make sure the Djinn and Vampires were taken care of. She couldn’t just sit around the bunker waiting for another case to pop up that was closer and hope that another hunter showed up to take care of the Djinn and Vampires in Maine and Washington.

"I am all for a road trip and you know it." She half smiled, taking another big sip from her mug, holding it to her chest as she began to think. Why take the fun out of the job by flying, that was so expensive and they would never be able to harbor the weapons they'd need on a plane! The car would do just fine....

"We can't take what we need on a flight. Yes, it would cut down on time but let's be realistic here. No one can bring anything to protect themselves through TSA. What if something happens in the cabin? We are left to dealing with hand to teeth combat." She sighed, finally bringing the mug down onto the table. "We're driving. We'll round up who we can, but I think we are overdue for a trip to the Pacific Northwest. I can call up the East Coast sector and see if they can start to handle it while we figure out the West." She explained, her mind beginning to organize itself into what needed to be done through their sister sector, and what they could do themselves.

Creating one large, intertwined community across the country was something that she was actively working on- trying to continue what Sam and Dean had started decades ago. It fell apart after Sam dropped off a little, and even more so when he was focusing on Dean and his other children. Maggie decided to pick up the mantle and attempt at the connection one more time- finding it fruitful and beneficial in terms of keeping up to date on numbers, clusters, covens and packs around the country.

Even though DJ did research, he mostly just heard whispers from other groups of hunters in the web, or emails sent through to them. It was always gong to be a behind the scenes work in progress in tandem with what they were coordinating at their own central location.

A soft and small smile came to Rose’s lips at Maggie’s reply. She knew how much she enjoyed road trips, especially when it came to taking care of monsters to help the innocent. “Yes, I do know that. I just like watching your reaction when I bring it up.” she said with a slight laugh. She then fell silent and worked on finishing her breakfast as she listened to Maggie talk, nodding every now and then to show she was listening. It was clear that the coffee was doing its job and helping her mind organize itself and waking her up from her sleepless night. Once Maggie was done speaking, Rose nodded once again in acknowledgement and her own mind began to start working through things. There were a few people that she could contact on her end to come and help, that was if they weren’t busy themselves. She also needed to call and check in with her father, it had been some time since she had spoken to him about everything that had been going on. Setting her spoon down in her bowl, she swallowed her bite and looked over at Maggie.

“There’s a few calls I can make so we can have some extra hands on this. After that, I’ll get to work gathering the supplies we need and checking the cars to make sure they are ready for the trip.” she gave a soft smile to Maggie, then finished her breakfast. She figured it would be best to take separate cars on this trip. Plus, it would help them take everything they may need and they wouldn’t be packed into one car like sardines. Two of the calls she planned to make were to two she knew would jump at the chance to take down Djinns and Vampires. She just hoped that they weren’t too busy to help out with this, since they could use all the help they could get being away from the place they called home. The thought of calling them and having them agree to help, made a small smile tug at the corner of her mouth. Not only would it be great to have their help on this, it would also be great to see them after all the time that had passed since they saw each other last.

Pushing her chair back from the table, Rose stood up from the table with a stretch, grabbed her dishes, and walked over to the sink. Once there, she washed and dried them and put them away. She then grabbed herself a coffee cup from the cupboard and made herself a cup of hot cocoa, since she wasn’t that fond of coffee. Before heading back over to the table, she retrieved the whipped cream from the refrigerator and put a good amount on the top of her hot cocoa and a spoonful before putting it back up. “I’ll leave you to wake the rest of the way up and have some time to yourself before you do what you need to.” Rose smiled, as she placed a hand on Maggie’s shoulder. “If you need me for anything, you know how to get my attention.” She then gave her shoulder a pat as she laughed softly and walked out of the kitchen to do what she needed as she brought her cup to her lips to take a sip of it carefully.

She decided to go back to the garage and finish the work on her car while making her phone calls, so she could kill two birds with one stone. Not to mention, she was already covered in grease from her first round from this morning. So to her, it was better to finish her first job then to start another, then go back to the first later. Once in the garage, she took another sip of her cocoa as she walked over to her tool box, then set her cup down in a spot she had designated for cups she had brought in with her. Going to the driver's door and opening it, she found the lever for the hood. Once the hood popped, she shut the door and walked to the hood and opened it. After a quick set up of what she would need, she pulled her phone from her pocket and scrolled through her contacts. Finding the first, Rose selected the name and waited for it to start ringing before tapping the speakerphone button and getting to work again.
