Ryan’s hair is in a state of apparent messiness, but it is actually expertly planned, kept up with a mixture of gels and creams. While Ryan does have a faint mustache, his facial hair that forms a beard is much more noticeable.

Ryan tends to wear high class clothing, often spotted wearing a black and white suit regularly. Ryan believes that clothing helps with first meetings, so he always try to look his best. Of course for the expedition to Antarctica, a suit is not really practicable so Ryan is wearing a thick black winter jacket, as he doesn’t want to wear anything as gaudy as one of those bright orange jackets.

Ryan is very confident in himself, which does attract some people to him. Ryan believes that he has done the work and can prove it, so he is sure of his opinions and is always prepared to defend his theories. When talking about something of interest to him, Ryan can quite intense and speak with fervor. This has led to him becoming something of a meme, to which he doesn’t care really as it just means that people are discussing him and his beliefs.

When Ryan isn’t arguing with someone over a theory, he can be very understanding and personable. For most people, Ryan is fine being known as a kind man, one that is easy to like. Instilled with this personality by his parents, Ryan always tries to have a good first impression as you never know when you might come across a person again. So Ryan tends to err on the side of being pleasant.

Background:

Born in London, England on March 15 1992, Ryan came from a semi-famous family. His father Alan was a musical one hit wonder back in the 80s, while his mother Gwen was a niche horror writer. The two would meet in the late 80s as they were both trying to jump start their careers. They would quickly marry and have a son, Ryan. They would both take a step back from their careers to raise their child.

Ryan would grow up loved, as his parents focused solely on him. As a child Ryan would be enamored with history documentaries aired on the BBC, all the stories and mysteries piquing his interest. He would decide at the age of nine that he was going to be a historian, going around the world and figuring out the secrets of the past. Ryan’s parents would nurture this interest, believing that he should follow his dreams. In turn the now teenage Ryan told his parents to return to their dreams. Alan would once again start performing, due many gigs for eighties nostalgia. And Gwen would start writing again, publishing a new well liked novel.

The extra cash flow brought in by the returned fame helped pay for Ryan’s schooling. He would become an international student, attending university in America. After many years of studying, Ryan would earn a doctorate in history. During his time at the school, Ryan would begin work on a book on fringe theories about history. Based on the strength of his mother’s name, Ryan was able to get the book published. It was immediately divisive, as proper historians dismissed his talk of lost cities and energy fields, but many online thought that he was onto something.

After the initial controversy of the book, Ryan was offered a job as an expert on a show on the History Channel. Ryan would be a regular on the first season of the show, becoming somewhat of a meme online for his intensity he had when talking about fringe theories. But the History Channel executives would recognize that Ryan was the apparent star of the show. They then offered him a deal to produce a full length documentary based on his theories.

It was around then that the ice in Antarctica melted and revealed a temple. When Ryan heard of it, he immediately decided that he wanted to make a documentary on it. Thanks to some bribes on behalf of the History Channel and Ryan’s accumulated wealth, the controversial doctor was able to secure a seat on the expedition to the temple.

Appearance:
Nuka is of mostly Greenlandic Inuit heritage (Kalaallisut). As such, he of course has most of the usual traits - black, straight hair, wide cheekbones and brown, almost black eyes. His skin has a relatively light, golden hue. At several points, Nuka's ancestry also contains some Danish and Norwegian influences, and these traces are surprisingly strong within Nuka. He is a tall man, at 186 cm, and his chin is more prominent and square than most of his peers among the Inuits. His face has plenty of facial hair growing, more than most of his kind, but he tries to shave it off as cleanly as he can. Still, one can see a 5 o'clock shadow most of the time. He is near-sighted, and so also wears a pair of glasses, which have round, black frames. Nuka is not only tall, but also large-bodied. Not necessarily chubby. When it comes to clothes, his homeland's inhospitable climate has taught him to mostly wear thick, woolen fabrics and resilient boots and jackets. When outside, he almost always wears a grey fur trapper hat which he has had most of his adult life.

Personality:
Nuka is a modest man, mostly content with what he has. He is fairly sociable and goes well with almost anyone. He doesn't really have many strong opinions, and if he did he probably wouldn't bother voicing them. This can sometimes come at a cost, as he might not even tell people if he knows what they think is factually wrong. When he works in teams, they might collectively make mistakes that Nuka himself could easily have prevented. He is quite a humorous man, specializing in dad-jokes that even his elders cringe and twist their faces at. Unbeknownst to most, Nuka is actually quite brave and fearless, although not foolhardy. If something needs to be done, he will often be willing to do it.

Background:
Nuka was born in Nuuk, Greenland, on January 6th, 1990. Both his parents were Greenlandic Inuits, although both with Nordic roots, especially his mother. During his upbringing, Nuka was taught the traditions and values of native Greenlanders. He especially fell in love with fishing at an early age. His father had a small boat that they would take fishing any chance they could. As he grew older, Nuka wanted to support his people in a country that was essentially still a colony, and so he started studying Inuit culture early in his adulthood. During his life as a student though, Nuka had his eyes opened to global warming, caused by human greed and threatening his home. So after completing his Bachelor's degree, he started studying meteorology. This ignited a burning passion in him, which pushed him on through a Master's degree and into a doctorate. He now works for the Danish Meteorology Institute most of his time, but also works part-time as a researcher for the World Meteorological Organization.

Personality: Issac can be described as a friendly, driven, and laid-back person. Who generally likes being with people even though he at times likes to be alone with his own thoughts. However, he can be stubborn on certain topics and if he makes up his mind about something important. It is hard to dissuade from it. Also, Issac has a love of nature and loves to explore new places. His job as an archaeologist satisfies this urge. Which he tends to carry a journal with him to sites and writes down his personal notes about a site. Along with a tendency to be careful as he grew older, especially on-site after a certain research trip to Mexico that almost went south for him.

Background: Born in Huntington West Virginia, and the eldest of three. Early in his life, Issac showed an interest in the world around him. Exploring, collecting, and wanting to learn more about the world. An internet that his parents encouraged though they had to stop him from digging up random people's property. His interest turned into a passion for both history and down the road, archaeology. Which when he was done with high school, he enrolled at a local university and was able to get his bachelor's and later master's degree. Managing to get a job as an archaeologist and would go to several sites after one in Mexico. He decided on carrying a pistol while on sites because of a close encounter with a cartel group while on a dig site. When he heard about the discovery of a stone temple in Antarctica, he was amazed when he found out and was among the first to ask to join the expedition to study it. Getting his spot on the expedition and now seeks to carefully study this temple in order to learn about the culture that once lived in the frozen continent.

In the field wears a warm practical style of rugged longer boots, warm layers and trousers. Though has a thing for cute nerdy T-shirts. Had a few patches from a Polish flag and a few like a BSG Raptor patch on jacket , Princess Peach, Pikachu, a Moomin and a Sabatton Patch.

Personality: Nerdy and somewhat of a tom girl though has her moments. A long fuse is not someone to be easily calmed down once set off.

Not so confident in large groups and more quiet at times until trusting people she is with. Proud of her country and will give you chapter and verse on why Russians never invented Vodka.

Creature of habit and will always pack her bag the same way, in the same order and very much upset if someone messes with the order. Very much was drawn to expeditions as they prefer the quieter wilderness where life is simple and more honest.

Background:
Born to a less wealthy family in rural Poland Natasza took quite a bit to get interested and was a reluctant student till she discovered languages. However, her upbringing was raised on a family farm, often going out with her grandfather as parents were busy teaching her in the outdoors as she sometimes struggled in the classroom. His loss hit her hard when she was a teanager though it also drove her to succeed to show his faith in her was not unfounded.

Graduating high in the relevant classes, she soon was offered a Scholarship at University of Warsaw, then Masters at St Andrews Scotland before taking her Doctorate at Oxford University. Was attracted to expeditions over the Academia or commercial side and signed onto the first field work trip possible and never looked back.

Being a smaller female and often in a remote environment, Caution got the better of her and purchased an old SKS rifle, especially after an wolf incident on a dig in Finland excavating a native settlement.

Sunny is an upbeat, optimistic, and passionate woman. Ever since she was a young girl, her family knew her as their very own little “ray of sunshine” because she came into the world with a smile that beamed so bright it could single-handedly power any town you put her in.

Background:

When she grew into adolescence, Sunny grew a fondness for plants that she could never quite explain. It all began with a small high school science project that involved sprouting a bean. After a few weeks of careful and affectionate grow-time, Sunny eventually found herself in love with the process of it all. Every day, she would hop out of bed and water the tiny science project first thing in the morning. See, with this little bean plant, there was always something to look forward to– a shiny leaf, a brand-spanking-new millimeter of height, and even later on, the most beautiful, purest, white flower buds she’d ever seen in her entire ten years of life. Something as simple as this made her the happiest little kid in the whole wide world.

The O’Connors then started a garden together. With the help of Sunny, they nourished the flowerbeds and grew a variety of plants and crops for their household like it was second nature. Sunny had a green thumb, and if that wasn’t obvious, the dozens of baskets worth of fruits and vegetables they amassed every season spoke for themselves. It was through experiencing this simple joy in life that she was inadvertently taught about her deep love for plants, her need to care for them, and her desire to understand more about them.

Combining her undying love for plants and boundless thirst for knowledge, her course in life had already been decided at a young age. Equipped with an abundant set of skills and a wide expanse of knowledge on every herb, flower, vegetable, weed, or plant one could think of, it was no question that she’d end up at a temple in Antarctica to investigate any signs of fossilized vegetation growing within or around it.

Jeong Ha-Kun, otherwise referred to as John due to his work in the States. A man with a laid-back and sarcastic demeanor. John is the to forgive quickly and forget easily. Not much can make him truly despise a person. He often retreats behind his sarcastic tongue when he gets nervous. Often times he doesn't let anyone see what's brewing underneath, shying away from making deep connections with others.

John, despite his work, has a streak of neatness and cleanliness about him. His work often leaves him covered head to toe in dirt, dust, and prehistoric gunk; a fact he dislikes. Though his love for his work supersedes this, he still stays as clean as he can, bathing and washing often. He won't dirty himself unless absolutely necessary.

Skills:
- PhD in Paleontology, one of the leading researchers in his field, he has a nearly encyclopedic knowledge within his specialized field of vertebrate paleontology.
- Master's degree in Minerology, with a focus on his chosen field- invertebrate paleontology.
- Hardy- Ha-Kun is used to working in harsh conditions; be it environmental or staving off hunger due to lacking supplies, allowing him to work longer than most others.
- Intermediate hunting skills- often his work leaves very little in terms of support and resources. He has had to hunt more than a few times to supplement his own food supply, especially working in remote areas. Ha-Kun oftentimes goes for what interests him rather than a big payoff.

Background:
Jeong Ha-Kun was born in Suncheon-si to two medical doctors. His brother Jeong Hak-Do followed in their parents footsteps. As such, Ha-Kun felt an obligation to do the same. It was only through a stroke of luck that he discovered his true passion. After a school trip to Seodaemun Museum of Natural History, he developed a love for Paleontology. Though his parents disapproved, it was still technically a doctorate, which was their only 'condition'. Still, Ha-Kun could tell from their eyes and manner of speaking that he had disappointed them. Though this fact did little to dissuade him.

Ha-Kun graduated with high-honors. Soon he was traveling all around the globe, discovering and excavating sites, studying and researching fossils, and expanding the knowledge-base of Paleontology through his works. Soon he even began to take interests in minerology, finding a decent overlap with vertebrate paleontology, finding that they often go hand-in-hand.

Although not aiming for such, Ha-Kun's ever-increasing and compounding knowledge of paleontology led him to become one of the leading experts in paleontology. When word reached his ears that an old temple had in the arctics had thawed, his interest was more than piqued.
