William didn't think he would get a soulmate even though most people had one. He was so badly damaged that no one would want him. He accepted that shortly after his adoption. His adoptive fathers had shown him that he was worth very little. The only place he had any confidence was in the kitchen. The kitchen was his safe haven. It was the one place his fathers wouldn't go. He had been cooking since he was eight.

On his sixteenth birthday William was dragged out of bed by Vincent. Vincent was the more dominant and violent of his father. "Get up you piece of shit." The older man growled. William scrambled to his feet. He knew better than to disobey either of his fathers. "Breakfast better be on the table in ten minutes." The man ordered before storming out of the room.

William scrambled to his feet. He didn't dare take the time to get dressed. He hurried out of his room towards the kitchen. He hurried to make breakfast. Ten minutes wasn't much time to get something made. Luckily he was able to get a large omelet on two plates. He carried the plates to the table. He didn't know at that time his symbol appeared onhis chest angering Vincent and the man attacked him.

Savannah had a fairly normal life; she was the youngest of 3 children. Loving parents, and older siblings that looked out for her growing up. Not feeling, like she was missing out on something or had the need to ask for something. Because her parents always gave, what they were able to their children. But Savannah was never selfish; she appreciated what she got growing up, and what she had. Not seeking to get more luxuries, like some children would have just because their parents could afford to do so. Her older siblings, taught her to make do with what they had. It was a philosophy that she would carry with her, throughout her life as she'd get older. From a young age, she was aware of the different stories that were told regarding soulmates. Knowing the story from her parents; as her own parents found each other at a young age as soulmates. Her older sister still hadn't found her soulmate yet, regardless of the marking. Her sister still hopeful, that she would find him. Just like their older brother had found his. But young Savannah, didn't think about it twice. She thought herself too young, to be curious about such things. Savannah had been more focused on her school and education; than the what if's that came with the soulmate situation. If fate willed her to have a soulmate, then so be it.

But things changed on her 16th birthday. To Savannah it was like any other birthday. Nothing felt oddly special about it at first. Her mother had woken her up with the smell of chocolate chip pancakes wafting through the entire house-hold. Causing the young red-haired girl to jump out of bed in excitement. Wrapping herself up in her robe, she rushed downstairs.
"Good morning, birthday girl." she got greeted with warm smiles from her siblings.

"Good Morning." Savannah chirped in her excitement. "Mhh, breakfast smells amazing." She mused, as she jumped up onto the stool in the kitchen. Watching their mother finish making breakfast. Everyone wishing her a happy birthday. The family sat down around the table, enjoying breakfast as a proper family. Each plate was filled with delicious pancakes. Everyone choosing their different toppings. Savannah opted for some fresh fruit ontop of her pancakes, along with some whipped cream. A delicious combination in her eyes. She was midway through her first pancake; when she felt the weirdest itch...against her chest. Almost like something had stabbed her with a small needle. Making her flinch with an uncomfortable way. Rubbing at the spot, where the itch was coming from. But over the next few moments; it seemed to get more intense. Everyone watched her with a concerned expression, as she run into the bathroom to examine herself. Wondering why she was itching so badly all of a sudden. Peeling back her robe and pyjama top, Savannah's eyes widened slightly in surprise. The mark had appeared on her chest. "What the... She muttered to herself, in utter shock. Somehow a little stunned, that she was destined for someone out there.

William managed to get his birth certificate, adoption papers, and social security card by the time he turned seventeen. With that he was able to get his ID which he needed to get a job. It wasn't easy going to school, working, and doing all his chores but he managed to do that while he saved up to move out. He was able to move out on his own.

Living on his own helped build his confidence some but not enough for him to seek his soulmate. He knew he didn't have much to offer that person whoever they were. He or she was deserved better than him. He wasn't sure he would ever be worthy. He was damaged goods. He worked as a prep chef for one of the restaurant. He loved his job. It allowed him to be in the kitchen without having to interact. He had stopped talking at the age of eight. He had an app his phone and knew sign but he only used them when he had to.

Since getting her mark, Savannah's life remained somewhat the same. Apart from the surprise that she had a soulmate out there somewhere, she couldn't help but feel curious. Who was this person? What where they like? Not sure where to really begin, but she started to search. Or at least was attempting to. It's not like she could just go up to every single person that she ever crossed paths with, asking if they were soulmate. Knowing how insane that would sound. Or it'd possibly scare people off. Savannah was more careful than that. A trait she had after her mother. Instead, she tried to research more about her mark. to see if she could find someone whom had the matching one. Her elder brother offering some advice, of where she might find more answers. Trying out the websites, that her brother had suggested. But not finding anyone to match her search...at least, not in New York.

Prompting for another longer search; Savannah tried to search through the database, for every possibly country and or state. When she turned 18 years old; her father had been prompted at his job. Getting relocated to Miami, where the new firm was being established with Mr Montgomery as the new head-figure of the company in question. Packing up their things; the family moved across the states. Well most of them at least. Savannah's elder brother remained in New York; whilst the girls took the leap and moved with their parents, after Mr and Mrs Montgomery found a nice family home for them. Ontop of that, her school had recommended her for an art program, which happened to be in Miami too. Savannah knew that she should have been excited for the move; but she was a little nervous. How would she fit in the new place? Would it make her search harder or easier? She had no idea. Only time would tell.

The first day in Miami, was mainly spent recovering from the flight and slowly unpacking. Enjoying the calming view from her window; anytime she looked out of it.
The next day, Savannah thought she would explore what she now called her new home. It was the week-end, so things were a bit more calmer in the city. No one rushing to work. Heading to one of the cafes, that had been recommended to a few friends of hers that went visiting to Miami, few years prior; Savannah thought to test it out. Having taken her laptop with her, to carry on with her search. Savannah was just running the database for Miami, hoping to find some clues about her soulmate on the Miami records. As she waited for the record date to load, her trail of thoughts were interrupted by the waitress asking what she would like to order. "I'll try the cinnamon pancakes, and a cup of tea please. Savannah ordered. A friendly smile on her face.
