In consideration of the players who have been patiently waiting for nearly a week, I will have to rescind this statement and will begin drafting the first IC post in a little while.

To those players that have yet to submit your application or moved your approved character to the appropriate tab, you are still free to do so but it will be treated, in character, as their application emails arriving later while the CHAMPs are assembled for their first meeting.

I humbly apologize if this sounds rude or inconsiderate on your end, but I feel it is more rude and inconsiderate for me as a first time GM to let those players eager to play, wait for an unreasonable time for the roster to fill up. You are free to drop this RP if you feel this is unfair or unreasonable but there will be no hard feelings involved, and are still welcome to apply for future RPs...if I ever decide to run any after this one.

As I mentioned, its fine. I just wanted to start the RP in consideration of the players who waited for nearly a week. You're still free to apply. If you feel that you lack inspiration for this RP, I recommend watching Mystery Men or Defendor. Might get your creative juices flowing.

Oooo Dune shields

Yep, got some inspiration for it there but it doesn't really render guns useless per se. It can definitely stop bullets and other fast moving projectiles but only a handful of hits then the generator overheats and will take up to a minute or an entire hour to recharge.

High-end shields will stop armor piercing rifle grade bullets and even large explosions and recharge after a minute while budget shields can only withstand pistol grade bullets and will not save you from explosions as well as taking up to an hour to fully recharge.

But either shield can't block slow moving projectiles. So arrows, bolts, thrown objects, melee weapons, and good ol' fisticuffs are still fair game against these high-tech shields.

Naughty roleplayer: *pretends to do physics* if the boots amplify the kinetic energy of a jump by This much, and this person swings a bat with this much speed and force, what velocity would I have to achieve to become a human cannon ball without taking damage...

Entirely possible actually. But it'll be at the cost of some of the shield's charge that could have been used to stop a bullet.
