The new cell is dark, damp, and dirty. The white chalk they used to draw the pentagram a stark contrast to the cold, rough stonework under his feet. Silver chains cut into his wrists, almost sharp enough to draw blood. He takes a slow breath, then another, and another.
"Hey, you."
His voice is raspy, low, barely above a whisper.
"Can you do me a favor?"

Her eyes blinked open, eyes dull, they had been in there long enough for her powers and energy to be drained, she nodded her head, sending shooting pain up her eyes, she repositioned herself so she was half sitting, her shoulders slumped and body shuddering from the dampness

He watches her keenly, following her every movement with his eyes. A frail little thing, he thinks, but she'll suffice. Another slow breath, and he tries to make his voice sound more stable, less rough, tries to hide how he too is weakened.
"See that devil's trap on the floor, little thing?"
As id to emphasize, he nods towards the ground, unsure if she can even see in the darkness of their prison, his chains clinking with every movement.
"I need you to open it for me. Just a little bit. Can you do that?"

She sees it, for some messed up reason she can see in the dark, she moved her shaking hand forward, having to use both hands to open it just a bit, mostly collapsing onto herself after opening it

The pentagram is broken. Finally. A slow grin creeps onto his face. He can feel power surge through himself even as he wraps his hands around the chains that bind them. Just a moment ago, the metal had cut deeply into his skin, now it is barely any obstacle anymore. He cannot get the cuffs off, they are too tight around his wrists - but the chains were broken, noisly falling to the ground behind him.
He rolls his shoulders, briefly trying to remove the stiffness in his back, then takes a step forward. And halts.
There, right beside him on the ground, lay the little thing that had set him free - pale, weak, more dead than alive.
She'll just slow me down, he thinks to himself. And yet.. He hesitates.

Her eyes rolled into her head as she fully collapsed onto the ground at his feet, her long white hair turning muddy because of the dirt and dampness, her breathing shallow and soft, not moving at all except for her breathing

He needs to leave, make his escape now before his captors can realize that he escaped their devil's trap. But he doesn't move, eyes locked onto the girl on the ground. How pathetic she looks, dirty and broken. When he'd woken up, chained and trapped, she'd already been there. And even if he left the cell unlocked, she'd have no way to get out on her own. He wonders, for a moment, what the guards might do to her, if they found him gone. Do with her.
He shouldn't care. He shouldn't be wasting his time with her. But there was something.. Something about the little, frail thing, weak and helpless, utterly dependent on his mercy- just how he'd been dependent on her.
Shaking his head, he steps forward, towards the door. Now that he has his powers back, it's barely an obstacle to force it open - but it will be loud. He can only hope that this is some deep down dungeon, one that is secured so well that there'd only be a single guard or two.
Just a guard or two, so no witnesses when they get to the girl..
The thought crosses his mind before he can stop it, and he scrunches his eyes closed for a moment. There is no time.

In one swift movement, he breaks down the door, the crash echoing down the empty corridor. Then he turns, crouches down, his arms wrapping around the girl's back and legs - she's so light he barely notices her weight as he lifts her up, and so skinny that he can feel every bone.
"Hold on tight. We're leaving."

Her head hung limply as she hung in his arms, her breathing becoming uneven as her body fought to regain consciousness, her whole body shook with weakness and cold, barely able to open her eyes before conscious ran from her body again, leaving her limp and helpless in his arms, anyone could do anything with her body, her breathing got weaker by the second, every minute she was not in the sunlight caused her pain and weakness

He tightens his grip as he feels her body go limp, cursing under his breath. He shifts her into a more comfortable position, then peers out into the hallway. Empty, for now. He starts moving, thankful for his bare feet even on the dirty floor, steps so much more quiet than they would be otherwise. There is a staircase on his left, leading upwards, and hopefully outwards, and noone in sight. He doesn't pause to think of the possible implications.
Shadows wrap around him as he moves, and it's almost comforting, almost reassuring, if it weren't for the girl in his arms. The girl that, despite everything, always seems to draw even the dimmest source of light towards her, even in the dimness of this dungeon.
Once he's upstairs, it gets worse. There are windows now, high up above his head, and even though the sunlight streaming through doesn't reach the stone floor, the little thing in his arms seems to be wrapped in a halo of bright light, almost. Glowing?

The light seems to wrap around her, pulling her into a cocoon of light, as she would stay until she recovered enough for her body to wake, her breathing was definitely deeper, and her skin fuller and filled with more color than earlier, but still she was wrapped in light, seeming to take the light from around the room to absorb it into her frail body

He frowns as he watches what's going on, before reminding himself that he needs to keep going. Just because no guards have shown up yet, doesn't mean they won't. The hallways seem to be endless, dragging on and on, bending and turning seemingly at random. He keeps listening to any possible sound, but there is nothing but the eerie quiet of a deserted ruin, which while welcome at the moment promises bigger problems later on. There was no way in heaven or in hell that the humans who had captured him would just leave him behind, that wasn't like them. ... And whatever he had taken with him from his cell, she didn't seem to be something they would give up that easily, either.
The lights had fully cocooned her now, visible yet sheer, and the rosy color coming back into her cheeks making her look so much more alive already.
Finally, another staircase upwards, and beyond it, another corridor, but this time littered with doors. And noises. So someone was here after all.

The bruises and cuts that were all over her body healed, her eyes fluttering open a bit, revealing her now bright forest green eyes

He notices the change in her breathing against his chest, and looks down. Right into her bright green eyes.
"You chose the right moment to wake up, little thing. Keep an eye out for me, will you? Can't let them see us, I think they don't know we escaped yet." He keeps his voice low, barely above a rumbling whisper, vibrating deeply in his chest. He leans against the wall, taking slow deep breaths, concentrating on whatever he can hear. Clattering of metal on metal, heavy leather boots on stone floors... And the soft, regular breathing of the girl in his arms.
He shakes his head, trying to clear his mind, trying to concentrate on the important bits. Metal on metal, boots on stone.. And he can't tell if they are coming closer or walking away.

She doesn't know why, but she obeys, closing her eyes and listening, she could hear the whispers of plants, the wind blowing softly, and noises of humans, she opened her eyes to look at a particular door

As if on reflex, he follows her gaze with his.
"There, huh?" A cruel grin forms on his face, hands tightening their grip, nails biting into her flesh. He wants to get revenge, wants to tear them apart, wants to- but he can't. There is still the girl he's holding in his arms, too weak to stand on her own, even less left to her own regards. He'd known she'd be a hindrance, and he'd been right. Too late now.
He shifts her weight in his arms again, pulling her a little higher.
"Hold on tight, little thing. We'll be quick now, and if you fall I won't stop to pick you up again."

She nods, her arms going to wrap around his neck as she held on tightly, her hair cleaned many the sunlight to reveal pure white hair underneath

For a moment, he notices nothing around him, just the shadows working in his favor, letting him move so much faster than any human could - but it feels wrong, feels lethargic even as he rushes through the corridor, as if something is trying to pull him back into the light.
A door flies open, pushed by a force he cannot grasp, then he is standing outside, in the bright light of day. All shadows retreat from his form, and for the first time since the pentagram was broken, he falters.
Damnit! I cannot stop here, we're too close..!
Collecting all his strength, he pushes on, away from the structure, the comforting shadows, and into the unknown.

She still held on tight, her small frame seemed to glow as the sunlight hit her, she felt herself get stronger, but not strong enough to stand just yet, she was thinking of using her wings to fly but knew that would give her identity away if the light already hadn't

He keeps walking. Much slower now, his breath getting heavier and heavier, and an ache in his arms as he keeps the girl close, until he can't anymore. In the burning bright sunlight, his strength gives out, and all he can do is try to not drop her onto the ground, sinking down in exhaustion.
He's unsure if they've made it far enough, if they are still in danger. But he cannot keep going, not until the sun will set, and there isn't even a hint of dusk's blush on the far horizon.
Halfheartedly, he pushes the girl off of himself, only cushioning her head in his lap, and takes a moment to truely look.
The darkness of their dungeon hadn't done her justice. Her skin no longer looks sickly pale, but flushed rosy and with life, her hair, even though dirty, a clear, shining bright, and shining in the sunlight like nothing he'd ever seen.
What are you? , he wonders, brushing a stray strand of hair away from her forehead. Why couldn't I leave you behind?

She looks up at him, not moving away from his touch, not flinching, instead, she slowly sat up, she knew he was not human so why not show her true form, there was no humans for miles now, long, large beautiful white wings spread from her back, a long slim tail with feathers at the end appearing at her leg, a little halo of light appearing above her head as she moved her wing over him to shade him
