This is actually the... third time we've faced off against them, I think.

Team A and B are teamed up at the moment, and are fighting the recurring boss "Team Zan", which consists of a Sneasel named Sean, a Koffing named Karl, and a Zubat named Bart

Team C is exploring a mansion that belongs to a serial killer who constantly abused his child... oh, and one of the team members happens to be that jerk's kid.

Team D is in the middle of a beginner mission involving the collection of paper in Sunswept Plains. Despite the name of the place, it's currently raining... oh, and they're having a fight with their newly-introduced rival team who thinks they're working for a pokemon named Desia.

Um, flood, you have to make a couple edits to your post... first of all, sludge would have done 0 damage to your character, given that he's a steel type, and secondly, the enemy wouldn't have simply disappeared, they would have gotten back up as if nothing happened to them once you knock them out.

Oh, ok. The first one is entirely my bad, the second one I just wasn't sure how the whole no damage thing worked.

I can kinda see where you're coming from with the whole 'no damage' thing, 'cause in the PMD games moves that would normally do no damage (EX: Hyper Beam on a Gengar) instead do 1/8th of their normal damage. I... for some reason, prefer immunity. Maybe it's because I'm still mad at the anime for ignoring similar type matchups just so pikachu can win, or maybe it's just because I prefer using the main series games as a resource for this.

I'm pretty sure that's for balance reasons: Your max team limit in PMD games is only four pokemon, and that can be decreased even further by having a larger pokemon on that team or going into some of the more difficult dungeons. In many situations, you won't have the variety to deal with every type, so they give you a way of dealing damage that could be at least slightly better than the default attack.

Well, that limitation doesn't exist in the RP, so, I'm going to go with the main series games on this one.
