Appearance: Pakaru is slightly larger than most Matoran. As an Onu-Matoran, his armor is naturally black and dark orange. His eyes are dark green in color.
Kanohi: Rau; his mask has been modified with an inner visor that automatically filters out harsh light by changing from clear to reflective gold
Equipment: Axe, staff carved from a protowood tree branch, bone knife
Personality: A quiet and shy Matoran, Pakaru is happiest observing Rahi out in the wild. He is something of a gentle giant among Matoran, and does his best not to hurt anyone or anything unless absolutely necessary. His self-confidence is lower than most, but the Turaga value his skills with Rahi. While he doesn't like to hurt others or be confrontational, he has a strong protective instinct. He has few friends, but those he has are close. His closest friend is a Callidus Fox named Teina.
Backstory: Even before the Matoran came to Avsa Nui, Pakaru always found himself as a bit of an oddball among Onu-Matoran. While his peers preferred to be underground, he was happiest under the open sky at night. He has always been fascinated with Rahi, and was among the first Matoran volunteered (or, rather, his friend volunteered him as a way to boost his self-esteem) to be a part of the Expeditionary Guild. Most of the Rahi near Ora-Koro have been thoroughly studied by him, and information carefully catalogued.

Name: Kroque (pronounced "croak")
Gender: Female
Element: Plasma
Appearance: Kroque is short, even for a Matoran. and is a full head shorter than most of her peers. Her eyes are purple in color. Her mask was originally obtained in Metru Nui, and so has silver highlights on it.

Equipment: Shepherd's Staff
Personality: A kindhearted and warm Matoran, and does what she can to help others. She is naturally curious, and was one of the first to volunteer to be a part of the Expeditionary Guild. While she has no specialty in her studies, she has always been willing to scout and map new areas for the Guild. While she is friendly, she's more than willing to mete out a smack upside the back of the head to those that annoy her. She's happiest reading scrolls borrowed from the Guild's library.
Backstory: Kroque is one of Turaga Watiri's proteges, and is well known throughout Ora-Koro. Prior to their arrival on Avsa Nui, Kroque was a Mahi herder, though she would often help out however she could. This behavior has continued into the current day, but this has manifested in exploring the island of Avsa Nui and trying to find new locations and resources to help the Matoran.

Appearance:

Tohi is of average height for a Toa of her element, with a little more bulk in her muscles as she comes from a landlocked location, and as such used to swim against the currents of rivers. Her paint scheme is navy blue with transparent sky blue accents.

She has runes of indigo color on tattooed on her body, in a language that is not recognizable to anyone but a great Rau user. She does not know their meaning, but the runes glow faintly when she uses her elemental powers.

Tohi's armor and mask were made in silver metal, but after the years spent inactive, they have dulled to gray. Her mask is the shape of a great Rode, and the armor is embossed with pictures of water rahi.

Tohi's stance is relaxed, and she moves as if blending and bending with a current. In personal contact, she is relaxed, often leaning on something or slouching. In a fight she relaxes even more, making her very nimble and hard to hit.

Backstory:

Forgotten. Tohi has lost all of her episodic memories, erasing her past. All that is known is that she was found unearthed after a nasty storm on the beaches near Ora-Koro. Given how deep she was found in the sands of the beach, she must have been on Avsa Nui before the Matoran ever made landfall there.

Backstory:

In her youth, Fiera soon realized she would be no scientist. What she lacked in brain, though, she made up for in brawn. Even before the voyage to Avsa Nui, she was one of the village guards, albeit one without any chance of ever reaching officer ranks. She moved through the field ranks though, as her battle skills were rather impressive. On Avsa Nui, she has a simple life, though not by choice - as a low ranked guard she just neither had the money nor was allowed to travel the island much.

That said, she always lacked the sense of belonging. Almost as soon as Ora-Koro was created and she started patrolling, she was drawn to other parts of the island, although never allowed to go. Once upon a time, she had an accident with a boat’s fastening rope while patrolling in the docks, which resulted in a rather hilarious episode of being dragged through the waters by the Ga-Matoran fishers. Strangely, that was her cue to learn to swim, one of the few Ta-Matoran to do so, something that is much appreciated by the Guard Captain, as Fiera can be sent on boat with the fishers to protect them from Rahi attacks at sea.

She dreamed of joining the Expeditionary guild ever since it was established, however she never dared to ask, not having any usable skills other than hunting and fearing the disappointment if she were rejected.

Personality:

Being rather huge compared to her peers, Fiera always attracted attention, both wanted and unwanted. As such, she developed a friendly personality, despite being a blunt instrument. Her life in the guard made her disciplined. She is not easily distracted and obeys her commander without ever questioning the orders, as she has enough sense to know she wouldn't come up with anything better. She is, however, rather dumb. Fiera makes up for it with stubborn determination and grit. As a fire elemental, she is emotional and choleric, although it takes a lot to set her off due to her guard discipline. That said… She is a bit of a jerk that likes to prank others.

Backstory:

Kalfas keeps his history prior to arriving on Avsa Nui a secret. Not part of the original effort, he arrived a few centuries ago, alone on a boat - A feat unthinkable to any other Onu-Matoran on the island, if they had any other choice. When inquired about his origins, he merely stated that thinking of his former home brought back only bitterness, and that he was looking to start a new life as far away from his home as possible.

He has quickly adapted to the life on Avsa Nui, selling his boat for a Mukau drawn cart and over a night becoming a traveling merchant. He frequently leaves Ora-koro to gather raw materials for sale, and when in the Koro, he will offer to move people along with the goods. If he owns a home, noone knows where it is, the po-matoran preferring to be, in his own words, tied to no place and not being told what to do.

Backstory:

Rosta has once been a matoran musician. His life changed drastically when he received his powers once the Toa of their home have achieved their destiny. He has spent much time protecting his home since, having to deal both with dangerous foes and hazardous weather of his rather savage homeland. After a long life, he has achieved his destiny, saving his home village from a massive attach by a sentient plant. After sacrificing his toa Power to heal the wounded matoran and create three new Toa to protect the land, he set off to live the rest of his days in solitude. He eventually settled on Avsa Nui, unbeknownst to any other of its inhabitants. Compared to the wilderness of his home, the wilds of the Island of Hunger seem like a vacation resort.

Personality:

The old Turaga does not seek company of others, having have had enough of it in his life. He strongly objected to joining the village elders of his homeland, feeling like there would have been too many wise elders for such a small village, and he would not wish that headache on any matoran. That said, he would not shun away any company, should someone find him in his new home. After all, if someone braved the wilds of Avsa Nui that far, they would deserve being taught how to survive in them by the old turaga.

Backstory:

Atziri has been a member of the community since well before the exodus from their homeland. As far as she can remember, she has been observing the stars, trying to divinate meaning from their motion. And as far back, she can remember being mocked for it, sering as her success rate was not as great. Stargazing for such a long time though allowed her to design very precise sundials and navigation techniques, which are used by the Ora-koronans to this day.

To make sure she could claim she can predict at least some future, she has also picked up the skill of analyzing and predicting the weather, which landed her in even bigger favor with the sailing guild than her improvements to navigation.
