Hhhmm....
Well for the first paragraph, the things you talk about I have only heard stories of and they aren't well off, those are personal decisions. We are just like any religion, in the sense that we are all individual and control our own decisions. There aren't that we have many people like that in our religion, and that all religions do have people who do that. We teach from a young age that that type of acting can destroy lives or/and lead to no good.
In the second, yes do have "stricter" rules for media, and if parents are monitoring their children's television watching, which I have never met another Mormon family with kids who don't have a T.V., that is a family decisions. We are taught from a young age that we should go to Church every Sunday, which comes from one of The Ten Commandments (Yes, we're Christian.), and we don't do much spending on Sundays. And it is more of a personal decision whether or not you like to talk about religion or politics and that there isn't a majority that do like to talk about those topics, I personally do, and those who don't. It's all personal, you wouldn't judge an a country based on one bad person or act, why would you do that to a religion. (I am not saying that you are doing that, I am just putting it out there for people to think about.)
Anyone have anymore questions? I am happy to answer them.
