But while I've got your attention Wolf, I do have a quick question regarding the game. When it comes to the footprints we're beginning to follow, is there only one set? Or does it seem like more than one person walked out of the office? And if so, could Saur try to figure out how many there might have been, or if they might've been dragging something or someone? Usually stuff like that leaves different kinds of trails, but I'll leave it to you~


If you'd like to take a closer look at the footprints give me a Perception check to see if Saur can decipher how many may have left the trail. Regardless of whether or not Saur can decipher how many traveled this way, the tracks and direction of the trail are obvious now to everyone in the party.

Hm, with a 5 on the die that gets me a 13 total. Just a water trail, so it's probably harder to check for those kinds of details I suppose~

@Digizel Certainly! I'll roll an Arcana Recall Knowledge check for Fleur, because I may need to lie to you :D.

As Fleur gets a closer look at the rune on the paper, she delves into her past knowledge of the Arcane. The Seer closes her eyes for a moment to center herself before seeing an image of a waterfall flood her mind. Whatever this rune means, its application has something to do with torrential water.

As Saur takes a closer look at the watery footprints he can identify that there are more than one set, though how many, the kobold tracker is not able to discern.

@PatientBean Fleur can surely cast Detect Magic if she has the cantrip!

@PatientBean Yes! Fleur will find that the door us magical! For that matter she will also notice the clock on the opposite wall is magical as well!

Great! Okay so you can let me know if this applies. I have a feat called Oddity Identification. It says when I become aware of a magical effect or see a spell being cast, I can determine if it twists minds, fights against fortune, or reveals secrets and similar effects fall to your discretion. I can use Identify Magic or Recall Knowledge to learn more about the effects and use my Occultism skill with +2. I'd like to see if it's possible to reveal the door's secrets this way.

@PatientBean So sorry for getting back to you so late! This is a great feat! May I recommend Fleur tries to Recall Knowledge about this door? If yes, here's the result of her Occultism roll!

Squaring on the door, Fleur closes her eyes for a moment to center herself. She immediately finds that its magical properties cry out to her, desperate to reveal its secrets! In her mind, she hears an ancient, wizened voice make a simple request:

"Tell the time."

Fleur's eyes are drawn to the large, grand clockwork contraption whose hands busily stand over mirrored icons of the door across the hallway. Her magical connection to the door has not waned, though for the moment that appears to be all that the door is willing to communicate to her.

It's that holiday time of year!

So I'm sure real life things will come up, plans will change, and hopefully merriment will be had. In that case, let's let this current scene drag on a bit (not ideal for a puzzle I know, but never fear) into the new year.
