Carnatia de Valmont

"I object to your decision, captain. On the grounds that your reasonings are mired with personal biases, and we still have the matter of the injured Linceleste to think of. And even if we do not have any injured person with us, there is no guarantee we would find any leads in Katwiz. As of this moment, we have zero leads," Carnatia said firmly but in a neutral tone, neither angry nor upset, but a tone of one that was merely making an observation, completely unbothered by Carmen's outburst.

It was at a moment like this, that Carnatia's upbringing as an heir to a duchy came to the forefront. In an argument, a show of emotion not premeditated was a sign of weakness. If you were to show emotion it needed to be something that would gain you an advantage in the argument, such as garnering sympathy. In this case, she should probably...

"I think you are agitated, Captain. I don't think you're the sort of man to take rash action risking the safety of the people under your command," she added with a disappointed tone and a frown. Carmen was a conscientious man, from her observation, therefore the optimal way to bring him to see things from her perspective was neither anger nor pity, but to appeal to his duty and obligations.

Finally, she finished, "That said, I understand that the chain of command exists for a reason, therefore if you insist on going to Katwiz after we've rested and have clear heads, I will follow. Good night, Captain."

And lastly, in an argument always make yourself look like the reasonable one. In the best case scenario, it would make your opponent reassess and 'feel bad', and in the worst case scenario, it would garner you support from others watching the arguments.

She then walked away, when Amaris approached her.

"Carmen might make himself sound tough, but it is clear to see he is suffering after learning the fate of most of Paladin Thomas' group. The high possibility that his dear friend suffered an equally terrible fate is a hard thing to accept. Let's give him some time." Amaris said in a low tone to Carnatia.

Carnatia nodded, "Of course. Worry not, I am completely unbothered by his outbursts. Still, understandable though it might be, it is pivotal for the rest of us to try providing a voice of reason. Calmer heads should prevail."
