David and Judas had been friends for years, since elementary even, grown close because of their biblical names and their love of video games. but in their high school years, they had grown distant because of the sheer amount of work placed upon David. Judas was a mastermind, easily able to handle the workload, but David was too prideful to ask for help, and as a result they hung out less and less. But David was Judas's only friend, and Judas sunk into a pit of deep dispair.
One day, The day of high school graduation, Judas called David after months of not seeing each other, and simply wanted to talk. David, feeling bad for all the time they missed out on, decided to go, but was met with an empty home. or... almost empty. you see, while David had no clue he wasn't alone, he knew Judas was gone, and all that was left was blood. He ran, as fast as his legs would carry him, back to his house, and locked the front door. But the... thing had followed him.
He grabbed all the food and water he had, as well as the Kel-tec P50 he had inherited from his father for emergencies. and he waited. he waited for 3 straight days, called the police, and waited. but nobody came. he was stuck, listening to the heavy breathing and screams of a monster for 3 days. he knew the police had heard his cry for help, but they didn't care. Nobody's coming for me. I have to do this on my own. he opened the door, and fired the gun, hit the thing right between the eyes. he killed it, and he looked at the monster. it was his friend, twisted and deformed. burdened by guilt, he ran off into the world. the fog had cleared, and he was safe.
