If it's done well enough, yes, but it's usually not. Your body and mind have a naturally evolved aversion to certain triggers, among them blood and guts and poop. Some of that can be desensitized but the triggers are still there. It's a survival mechanism. Really the only thing in GOT that made me gag a little was the horse-heart, because I could imagine myself eating it (good cinematography). Totally different from like, a Kill Bill fight scene, with blood geysers. Which, again, intentional by the director, who doesn't want you GAGGING at that point, he just wants you to appreciate how fantastically violent it all is.
