Kiara continued smirking as the Devil looked on in shock. "What's the matter? Surprised that a travelers managed to survive this long?" She tossed the black blade right back at him. Shaken out of his stunned silence, Webster caught the sword in midair. Kiara jumped back, heading towards Vincent and the sleeping Mary. "Ok. . .so, theory tested." She gave him a shaky thumbs up and a half grin. "What? Don't look so surprised, alright? You weren't the one who got impaled by a sword just now. . ."

She looked back to see Webster now. He was. . .not happy. A negative aura began to surround him, making the air seem thick. Thick and boiling, and hot, yes, hot with hatred and anger. The Devil's eye gleamed a dark crimson, and he began to walk calmly to the travelers before them.

"I. . .will. . .kill you."

Kiara tensed up. "Someone's serious," she muttered. And why wouldn't he be? They had just outwitted the Devil himself. Of course he was pissed. Noticing his missing eye, Kiara directed Vincent's gaze over to the one still intact. "I guess Mary scratched the other one out. When we were fighting, I noticed that he had gotten alot slower and less aggressive with his attacks. Think that's the source of his power?"

Well, she was right in her first theory. Maybe she was right in this one as well.

"Vincent, listen close alright? I got another plan, but this one is more risky. I'm gonna dual with Webster and when you find an opening, I want you to shoot his eye. Got it?" There was a catch however. The sound of Vincent's gunshot would no doubt startle Mary back into the waking world. Once that happened, there was no telling if Death would fall asleep again. If anything, they'd have to deal with both her and Webster. All these thoughts and more coursed through Kiara's head as she thought it over.

"We have one chance. We have to make this count."

"I can't help it. You almost scared me to death." He smiled a little and looked up as she walked over. Vincent felt the dark aura before he saw it. When he leaned over to see the source, he shuddered. "He does not look happy." He couldn't help but scoot backwards as Webster came towards them. There was a strong hatred and frustration surrounding him that could kill on its own.

Vincent looked to Webster's missing eye. "No wonder he's angry... He has one eye and is confused. This is a first, even for him. We can always assume that his power comes from there. Or he's just getting worn out by the work."

Vincent started to stand slowly as Kiara spoke. "You're pushing your luck Kiara. How could it possibly be more risky than your death?" And then she told him. He paused, standing up straight. Vincent gave a serious look as she explained their chances. "You do realize the insanity in this right? It's too risky."

And yet, he felt that he wouldn't make a dent in the argument. With a sigh, Vincent shook his head. "Alright... Fine, but be careful." He looked at his gun before watching as Webster got closer. "We have one shot."He repeated, not believing he was actually going to go through with it.

Vincent looked down at Mary, limping a few feet away from her. "Sorry kid." He waited for his opportunity to strike.

Kiara nodded at his agreement to the plan. Because he was right. It was insane. Completely and utterly devoid of all reason and logic. But hey, what choice did they really have now? "Right. Keep your gun trained on us at all time-crap!" Webster flickered in front of Vincent now, raising his blade to strike. Kiara parried the sword just in time, pushing the Devil back a bit.

"He's. . .he's not giving us any chances, huh?"

She ran forward, meeting him blow for blow. Webster remained silent now, his one eye shining and gleaming a dark red. He was hellbent on killing these two. These two. . .who had somehow survived and succeeded where most, no, all others had failed. Who were they? What were they? They weren't angels or demons. They weren't superhuman. That had exceptional abilities, but that was it. So then. . .what? Why were they defying him? Why were they fighting back? Why were they winning?

"Why!"

Webster lashed out with his free hand, gripping Kiara by the throat. Struggling in his grasp, he held her up in the air and proceeded to stab her repeatedly in the abdomen with his sword. She could do nothing but continue to weaken his grip. However long that took. At that moment, Webster sent a death glare to Vincent.

"Don't think I've forgotten about you human!" he sneered.

With his mind, Webster sent bullets of black sand flying his way. He sprayed them out in a similar manner of a shotgun, the bullets coming at him in bursts. Kiara kicked Vincent repeatedly, only fueling the Devil's annoyance and anger.

He continued to stab her now. He didn't care if they were temporarily immortal now. He would kill them. Kiara felt no pain as the blade pierced her body one more, simply trying to hold out long enough for Vincent to take the shot.

That, and praying that Death wouldn't wake up from all the commotion.

Vincent hobbled backwards when Kiara jumped in to block the blade. "This is insane...This insane." He chanted as he raised the gun, watching the fight. It didn't help that the girl only agreed to the notion. Vincent's normal calm was starting to fade to show his true colors of nervousness. But who could blame him? He nearly died more than once.

Kiara continued to fight, and Vincent stood, waiting for the right time to strike. It was going to be a lot harder now considering he wanted to hit when Kiara was being attacked. He was still in a bit of shock that he let the girl talk him into this. She was basically asking for death. Well, they wefe both practically at death's door anyway.

His grip tightened on the gun when Webster began stabbing her. At this rate, Kiara would have been dead even when Mary woke up. She was going to lose way too much blood. He aimed to take the dhot and stop Webster. Suddenly, he found himself having to dodge bullets, which was a lot harder to do with a practically dead leg. It was proven difficult when he was shot in the shoulder. It didn't hurt thanks to the kid being sleep, but it was still a bad feeling. And the force sent him stumbling backwards. He fell right next to Mary and froze when she shifted, but sighed in relief when she stayed asleep. "That was way too close..." He heaved a sigh and lifted himself on one leg.

He couldn't wait any longer. He had to shoot before he missed the chance, and before Mary woke up. He waited for Webster to pause before he took three shots. Two went into his eye and the other went into the hand that was stabbing Kiara. He couldn't jump up as quickly due to his leg, so he braced to receive the immediate reaction of Mary's wrath. Of course, he could only watch Kiara. There wad no way he could help her now. But the sudden impending doom feeling made his anxious, and a little panicky. Which was a first because he was normally calm and collected.

Kiara began kicking Webster frantically now, seeing Vincent have to dodge the bullets from the corner of her eye. The Devil's single remained eye shined brightly as he looked right through her. She shivered in his grip. How could one's gaze be so hot with fury but cold with malice. Webster leaned in closer as he grinned right up at her. "I'm going to enjoy living in my new reigning Hell. And you know what? I'll make sure you're the first to be-"

A shot to the hand made him let go. Confused, Webster turned his head and stared right into the two bullets coming at him. His eye began to glow, and Kiara sensed he was making another get away. Taking Volunta, she reached up and plunged it in his chest, piercing his black heart. Stunned by the blow, he didn't have enough time to react as the two bullets made full and direct contact with their target.

A loud squishing sound rang out in the town.

Webster fell backwards, as if an unseen force drove him away. He fell to the ground as fresh and black blood began to slowly seep through his eye socket. The resounding gunshot coupled with the eye being ripped apart by the bullets was enough to wake Mary up. However, she tossed and turned, eventually rolling over to the side and away from Vincent. Kiara couldn't believe the dumb luck but then she saw a shadow near the girl. A shadow that grinned right at her and proceeded to leave without a trace.

Sandal? Who knew. The angel was always up to something.

Waking up fully now, Mary rose up and yawned widely. Rubbing her eyes, she looked from both Vincent and then to Kiara. "Uh, what's going on?" She was back to normal.

A spluttering sound was heard, and Kiara turned to see the Devil gradually rise up. He planted his sword on the ground in an attempt to steady himself as black blood leaked from both his eyes and mouth now. It was truly a sight to see. But it was worth it. Definitely worth the risk. Because although they didn't kill him for good, the two traveler's teamwork did accomplish something.

The Devil was now blind.

Vincent heard the squishing sound where he knelt. His nose wrinkled in disgust, and then he couldn't help but flinch when he heard Mary start to move. He braced himself for whatever wrath that was to come... Only to glance over and see her...roll over? A huge wave of relief flashed over him, before he caught the shadow of... Sandal? "Heh, you are a big softie." It was either that, or the Big Guy gave another freebie.

His attention turned to Webster who was shakily getting into his feet with both eyes shut tight now. Blood dripped from his eyes and mouth- a gruesome sight but still... They blinded the devil.

"Good morning sleepy head." Vincent glanced over his shoulder, falling to his butt now that the job was near done. He aimed his gun once more at Webster and smirked. "You lost Webster. You finally lost." He chuckled lightly and then shot the bullet right between his eyes. "So. You're two for two Kiara. What's the third to get him outta here? Inked he'll do that on his own." It was going to be too easy to shoot him down now.

For once, Vincent fell backwards, so he was lying on his back. He stretched to the heavens and let out a much needd yawm. His confidence in them winning rose a little and he heaved a sigh. "Man, this has been a long few days... or two days..." With so much going on, he couldn't even keep track of the days!

Vincent glanced at Mary, although she was upside down, and spoke. "We're still trying to take down the devil. We got both his eyes out, now to send him home." He hadn't felt so confident since when he took his first step into the small town looking for directions. And that felt like ages ago. His calm had wavered back into place and he relaxed. Now that Mary had woke, he could feel his muscles ache and his body getting tired all over again, but all those wounds that could've killed the two were missed by Death so they were practically null and void.

Kiars found a way to cheat Death. At this rate, they should have kept a tally on their deaths. Realizing Webster was still alive and well, he sat up and watched the now crippled monster. What would he try and do next?

Kiara managed to drag herself away from Webster's limp form and collapse near where Vincent and Mary lay. It hurt. She wouldn't deny that. Her little stunt had almost cost her, and although the wounds were cheated from being lethal, they still insured that she wouldn't be doing much for quite a while now. "Heh, three for three? Naw, I think I'll let you make the next plan."

Mary sat up and looked down at the both of them questionably. "Uh, can someone tell me what happened? Where's the mean scary demon? Webster's pet?"

Kiara grinned. "You mean his bitch?"

Mary frowned. "Hey, I'm not allowed to say bad words! But yeah. . .where's the ugly one?" Ugly? Well that was a bit personal.

Kiara sported another grin. "Vince here took care of him. Shot him stone cold dead till he couldn't move an inch anymore." She looked over at the other traveler now. "Isn't that right?"

"If you two are done. . .I'm not dead yet." The voice belonged to the crippled Devil as he limped toward the three. Clenching his black sword with shaky hands, he clutched his cowboy's hat tightly in an attempt to gain composure. But even he knew he wouldn't last long in this world.

Seeing his attempts, Kiara sighed. "Dude, just give up already. Or at the very least give us a day off or something. You just won't stay down."

Webster flinched away her words, dragging the blade behind him. Its tip produced large sparks on the dirt below, proving once more that he was no ordinary demon or being.

"My. . .my new Hell is still waiting for me."

Vincent tilted his head towards Kiara when she laid next to them. "You've got some luck." He pointed to her wounds. They looked entirely me painful than they looked. And they looked pretty bad. "You look pretty bad." He teased lightly.
At her mention of the next plan being up to him, Vincent laid his head back. That was actually the least of his worries at the moment. His normal priorities settled in again; a good nap and probably some decent food.

His head turned to Mary and he gave a light shrug. "I had help. It was a team effort." He humbly shrugged again, staring up at the dark, cloudless sky. Webster interrupted Vincent's drifts into daydreams.

With a sigh, Vincent sat up, but glanced over at Mary. "You remember the story I told you? You know, before you fell asleep?" Vincent leveled his gun and watched Webster struggle to get closer. "Well, at the end, I'm going to add that the big bad monster not only got a bullet to the head, but in the stomach too. Just to make sure he was down." With a nod, just as he said, he sent a bullet into Webster's stomach, and a second to his head. Either both, or one of them would hit, but at the slow pace he was moving, the three could easily get away.

"That guy is persistent. But I'm sure he won't be able to do much for a long time, considering his eyes are gone." He thought about it, and looked up at the sky again. "Wasn't stopping Webster our deal? Shouldn't there be like some dramatic entrance from one of the angels in order to send him away? Or is that just a fantasy and we actually have to do that ourselves?"

The bullets made direct impact, sending Webster to a stagger. More blood was coughed up from the mouth, and he glared at the three with hate. Those three. . .sitting there as if they had all the time in the world! It was sickening! Pathetic! A mockery! Now reduced to a slow crawl, Webster raised his sword for one last blow. One final, desperate attack. An attack that never came.

A streak of light appeared from the sky, blinding the demon even further. How he was able to sense and see his surroundings without the use of eyes was beyond anyone. Even still, it didn't deter his insane mission until a figure stood in his way. It was a grinning Sandal. Kiara looked up and blinked, her eyes not sure if they were deceiving her. Lo and behold Sandal himself had showed up to finish this once and for all.

Turning around, the cowboy waved at the trio. "Yo. How'd it go?"

Kiara pointed at the crippled Devil. "You tell me."

Smirking, Sandal faced the demon once more. "You just don't know when to quite, do you? How long have we done this now? Centuries? Eons? Longer than that? When will you realize that I'll always keep kicking your ass? If you can't even tempt me, what makes you think you can tempt humans?"

Webster spat, pointing his sword at Sandal. "You can't kill me. I'll rise up again. And next time you won't have your lackeys to stop me! You'll be powerless!"

Sandal simply shook his head at this, brushing off the Devil's words. "If that's what you think, than you really haven't learned at all, huh? Well, not my problem." With a snap of his fingers, the ground beneath began to crumple away and rip apart. A large, black coffin emerged and surrounded Webster. Red thorns dashed out, piercing his body and holding him in place, securing him to the coffin.

The Devil did not struggle, rather instead setting his hate filled gaze at the Kiara and Vincent. "I'll kill you. Wherever you go, wherever you end up, I'll be there. I'll kill you. . .and you. . .and you. . .I'll kill you all! I'll murder your children, I'll burn your corpses, and I'll make sure you all burn in Hell with me!"

At that last line, the front of the coffin snapped close, sealing the Devil once more. His black cowboy hat had fallen off throughout the whole ordeal and Sandal bent to pick it up. When his fingers brushed against the thing, it instantly crumbled away into a pile of black sand. The cowboy sighed. "Figures. Not a trace behind."

Mary crossed her arms and grinned. "Finally! That meanie's finally gone!"

"This guy really won't give up. He's troublesome." Vincent raised an eyebrow as he crawled toward them. It was rather disturbing to see him try so hard, and then again, it was rather sad as well. When Webster raised his sword, Vincent readily prepared to counter. But neither attack was given thanks to a bright light that made him squint and shield his eyes. "Please, don't be another bad thing..."

Once the light faded, and Vincent's vision returned, his eyes settled on Sandal who was standing in between them. It was actually him, and nor some trick. "Heh, well look at that." Of course, the angel's first words are something sarcastic... Which Vincent didn't mind.
Kiara answered the question he gave and Vincent only nodded in response.

His eyes focused on the monologue  the two omnipotent forces were sharing. And the Webster turned his attention to them.

. "I'll kill you. Wherever you go, wherever you end up, I'll be there. I'll kill you. . .and you. . .and you. . .I'll kill you all! I'll murder your children, I'll burn your corpses, and I'll make sure you all burn in Hell with me!"

"Please don't make that a promise." Vincent mumbled, shaking his head at the thought of him or any of his family having to deal with that crazy male. The coffin shut and he then held a slight smirk. "He seemed to like that hat. Not even can he keep a hat in his final hour here. That must be a pain. To know that two random humans beat you."

"Finally! That meanie's finally gone!"

Vincent smiled at the child and turned so his body was towards her. He pulled one leg up to him, the one he could move easily and then nodded. "That's right. The big bad guy is no more. We have finally finished." The little girl giggled in delight and clasped her hands together.

"You won! Oh, and Kiara too of course." Mary then blinked, coming to a small realization. "Hm, this is almost like the story you told me before, with the two travelers and the big monster." Vincent raised an eyebrow and then shrugged. "I don't recall." Mary pouted. "It is! How can you not remember your own story you dumb human! It had you and the crazy lady in it."

Vincent coughed and shrugged. Being a kid, she didn't catch on to his teasing and only got frustrated. "Well I remember it! Except for the ending, which reminds me... What hapoens next?"

Vincent blinked and looked out in the distance and then to Mary. It was a question he was sure he couldn't answer. He knew Mary meant after all the healing and relaxing had been done. But he didn't know what he would do. "I don't know... I guess I'll just... heal up and continue my travels." At the mention of healing up, he looked down at his "dead leg" and gave a soft sigh. "Well, heal and cover this up." There wasn't much he could think of. It was a "happy ending" like all the cowboy stories he heard, minus the part about the hero riding into the sunset or something like that. "Unless we accidentally signed some sort of life binding contract... I'm done with the whole fighting omnipotent beings job."

"Hey! Who are you calling "crazy lady"?" Despite her words, Kiara couldn't keep the grin off of her face as she crawled closer to lay beside the two. Staring up into the sky, she noticed that she sun was just peaking itself out of the clouds, showing off a brand new day. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. They had really done it. At the questioning of the story, Kiara sat up and raised an eyebrow at Vincent. "You told her a story to keep her quiet? Figures." She too turned to the distance, wondering what they'd do with their lives now. Fight another supernatural being? Hell no! Not in these conditions at least. Looking down at her wounds, she sighed loudly. "Yeah. . .this could prove to be a-"

A warm light encompassed them both, spreading from every joint of their body into their very souls. Or rather, it felt like that. Looking down on herself, Kiara saw all of the cuts freshly healed for the last time. She glanced at Vincent, seeing the dead leg now pulsing with blood and life.

"Heh, well what do you know? You must like us alot, huh Sandal?" She turned to faced the enigmatic being who was apparently a guardian angel. Literally.

Sandal walked up to the two, a bored expression on his face. "Eh. It's all part of the job. You two owe something from me since you did the Big Man a favor."

Death crossed her arms and pouted up at the cowboy. "Next time tell me when you're gonna spare some lives. I need to meet a daily quota you know!"

Sandal raised his hands up innocently in mock apology. "Yes, yes, I'll be sure to do that Mary. Besides, it can't hurt to have a little fun, right?" Funny. Depended on his definition of the word. He gave one last look at the travelers before flickering out of their view. Even so, his voice lingered.

"Consider your mission accomplished you two. You can go on with your lives or ride on to seek more adventure. But know this, you have our blessings. Both mine and D's."

"Wait!"

A pause. Then Sandal re-materialized in front of them again. "Er, is there a problem here?"

Now it was Kiara's turn to cross her arms and pout. "The least you could do is explain the "D" joke Sandal. Come on, for us?" So that was what she was worried about? Figures. Sandal took a moment to consider it before finally letting out a huge grin.

"Well I guess you two have earned that much. What does "D" stand for? Simple. It stands for "Dad."

Kiara's eyes widened at his words. "You. . .you're. . .but. . .you're Je-"

Sandal gave them one more wink before disappearing for good. But then again, he was always with them anyway. Always watching over them. Still stunned into silence, Kiara looked at Vincent and then Death in amazement. "He was. . .we just met. . .um, wow. . .Mary, why didn't you tell us?"

The young girl sighed. "You never asked. Plus, wasn't it obvious? Jeez, you humans are all slow."

That warm glow once again covered him and he looked down to see himself fully healed. Even his dead leg was back in the proper condition. "Thanks." Was Vincent's response, much different than Kiara's retorts. He was used to it though, and found them kind of amusing at times. But Sandal merely shrugged it off saying it was owed.

"Consider your mission accomplished you two. You can go on with your lives or ride on to seek more adventure. But know this, you have our blessings. Both mine and D's."

This was the best news he had heard in what seemed like forever. Their mission was complete. They no longer had to fight. They could finally relax. Vincent stretched his entire body and heaved a sigh. "Wonder-?" He looked over at Kiara in confusion as she stopped Sandal from doing his routinely disappearing tricks. What more could the girl want?

Of course, the meaning behind Sandal's inside joke. He chuckled lightly when she pouted like a kid. Vincent slowly sat up and looked up at Sandal. "What does that mean anyway?" The answer wasn't whet he was expecting. Even Vincent had a surprised look planted on his face. "Really?" The grin on his face answered that question. "Whoa. We've met-... wow." They had met Death, the Big Guy's son, and the devil...personally. "We should have an immortality card or something." He chuckled again and only shook his head when Mary accused them of being dumb again.

"Hey, give us credit. We at least beat Webster." The two weren't going to be able to sit on the ground all night. Sure, it was a pretty night, but the ground would get uncomfortable soon. He lifted himself up, happy that he could use both legs. Vincent put his hand out to his partner and looked around. "Well... there's no one around to know about our legacy. Unless someone is hiding out... But," He ran fingers through his hair and looked at Kiara. For some reason, he wasn't quite sure what to say.

Thanks for the help? Good job not dying? He was at a loss for words.

Mary watched the two travelers curiously and then giggled. "So? Are you two going to keep traveling together or are you going to just go your separate ways? That's not a very interesting end to a story." The comment made Vincent blink and then continue what he was saying. "Um," It wasn't often he stammered and stumbled for words. "I'm sure the next town isn't any where near 'exciting' as this, so... that's where I planned to head."

Kiara grinned at Vincent's awkward silence. "Don't worry about it. You don't have to say anything. . .partner." She gave him a nudge to the arm. Mary giggled more as she observed their interaction together.

"So, is that a yes? You two are gonna get married?"

Kiara's face paled. . .and then turned a deep shade of red. Whether out of anger or annoyance, no one knew. She glared at Death now, who in turn had a smug smile on her face. "Why yo-what gave you that idea, huh? Just cause we work good together and. . .we survived. . ."

Mary crossed her arms in triumph at the older girl's flustered nature. "Heh, well I don't mean right now. You two still have to travel together alot more for that to happen. Besides, you two make a good team anyway." She tilted her head in curiosity. "Why don't you get together already? If not, then I'll come and kill you both myself. And this time, I'll make sure you stay dead." She said it so casually, it was frightening.

Kiara stared at the girl in wide-eyed wonder. She had just been threatened by a girl half her height and age. Sure, she was Death. . .but still, a little girl! "Why you bra-"

Mary stepped back and smiled, giving them a little wave as she too began to flicker away from their sight. Like the others, her voice still remained though. "It's been nice meeting you two! I can't wait to visit you guys when you die for real. . .if you survive that long!" A pause. "Oh, one more thing? I suggest you start running to the next town now. You know, the one less "exciting"? Anyway, bye Vincent, bye Kiara!" Then the voice became silent, no longer speaking to them.

Still a bit embarrassed, Kiara composed herself before facing Vincent. "So, uh, what do you think she meant by ru-"

"Hey you!"

The traveler turned around to see. . .well, a nightmare actually. A mob of people stood there with torches and pitchforks. The woman in yellow with her shotgun led the charge, yelling forward into the night.

"They live?"

"Kill them for good!"

"Kill the heretics!"

Kiara sighed in exasperation. Now they show up? Well, whatever. That was part of the fun, right? Smirking, she looked at Vincent, drawing her hood over her head.

"Looks like we'll be staying together for a bit longer. At least till the next town. What do you say, partner?"

"So is that a yes? You two are gonna get married?"

Vincent's eyes widened for a brief moment and he felt his cheeks warm up. The reddening of his face made him look off to the side and scratch the back of his head. Luckily, Kiara turned her attention to Mary. Though Kiara's little explanation didn't help his embarrassment. His face stayed the same shade of red as they continued. He wasn't planning on adding his two cents to the conversation, in fear that he may make it worse.

"Uh, Kiara... She's Death. Her threats can be-" The two obviously weren't listening to him. And then it was time for Mary to depart. With a smile, Vincent gave a two finger salute. "Nice meeting you two Mary. Although, I don't want to see you too soon." His eyebrow raised towards the advice, but before it could be questioned, the girl was gone.

The tint in his cheeks was still there, and seeing Kiara's look of embarrassment mad him cough awkwardly. After a second, he managed to compose himself. Again, before he could try to respond, or before she could finish, an angry mob appeared.

"I guess that's what she meant."

"Kill the demons!"

"Don't let them escape!

"Hurry!"

"Looks like we'll be staying together for a bit longer. At least till the next town. What do you say, partner?"

Vincent wasn't getting much time to talk now was he? The click of the shot gun had him turn quickly and grab Kiara's hand. "Time to go!" He ducked his head when the gun was shot. "They're kind of mad... Bad shots though." Vincent pushed Kiara ahead and turned toward the mob. "To slow them down at least." He took three quick shots. Two broke weapons  and another hit someone in the knee making them fall. "Eh, sorry." He fired three more warning shots and turned to catch up with Kiara.

"I'm pretty sure once we hit the border, they'll stop chasing us. Hopefully." He said with a new found energy to run from a mob.

"Ha! That's assuming this place has a border at all!" Kiara gripped Vincent's hand tightly and continued running in the night. How about that. Two lone travelers who met by chance, ended up forging the greatest bond of all. All it took was some divine intervention, a couple of demons, and a whiny lecture from Death itself. All in all, not bad in the long run. Still, it sure beat traveling these deserts alone. Of course, all these thoughts and more had to be dashed as more gunshots were heard. But did Kiara really care?

Well compared to fighting the Devil, meeting Jesus, and babysitting Death, then no. No, having gunshots flying after you was the least of your worries.

Kiara couldn't deny though, the pang of anxiety and fear from Webster's final words. How the Devil had sworn to come back for revenge or worse, possibly endangering their future. Wait, their future? That made it sound like they we-oh, no, no, no! Well, that had gone through Hell and back. . .literally. Still, did that make them. . .close?

Did she know? No. Did she care? A bit. Did it matter? Not in the present time.

Attempting a shrug, Kiara decided to think of those things when the time arrived. Because for now, they were truly living out a cowboy's ending. Running into the night with a bunch of crazy people right on their tracks.

Hand in hand.
