I presume he's naturally at least acquainted with Logan due to both being Captain of their respective Quidditch Teams by their Fifth and Sixth year, and it seems practically the entire Hogwarts crowd was involved in the Dueling Club (I may or may not be removing that from Logan's history/credentials because of the oversaturation of members), with Emma being the Captain/best duelist amongst them. There's also a possibility of Johann having heard of the various Quidditch players of Hogwarts due to his own Quidditch prowess or an international school cup, heck, maybe even a Tri-Wizard Tournament. Unless of course those were just banned outright due to Darth Vadermort's reemergence during the one held in the 1990s.

I believe there is some connection through one of Vena's other characters, but now I'm drawing a blank on which one... If there isn't, then yeah, it's the Dueling Club.

I wonder if Michael will be the only Hogwarts non member of the dueling club... I like the idea of Johann have already been to Hogwarts on a trip. As a decent flier and powerful duellist, it seems likely he'd be involved.

Fowlishness's Slytherin, Irene, could be his connection, including the Quidditch and Dueling. And if Arlear is down, despite the Ravenclaw/Slytherin hatred, they could've become friends by pranking one another over the years, or frenemies if not friends.

And for dueling club, Nym's not part of it, seeing she's more of a flight not fight. Dale is too air-headed/hippy about it too, although she can be very good when she puts her mind to it. Lydia could be friends with Veronica or someone associated.

Oh I think connection would be Amelia. Her father would always take Amelia when she was younger to France. He had to work so that meant Amelia had to have a group of friends in order to spare herself of boredom. I cannot imagine a more similar person to Amelia then Lydia, too. They'd really be perfect friends.

Neither of them has submitted a character nor been in contact with the OoC (from what I can see) in over a week. Unless you've been in touch with them privately (or I've just missed something public!), I wouldn't expect them to be joining us in this. On that note, how long are we remaining open? There's five of us with submitted characters and, between us, nine characters. That's probably enough to get started, and if the others aren't joining us, there's no point waiting for them to submit sheets. IE: let's get this mutha started! :P

The situation of having no friends? I wouldn't say that, Logan could've met people any number of ways besides being members of the same House. There's the most obvious route, being Quidditch/Dueling club, or the more subtle route of mayhaps Logan scammed a couple members of the group and made it up to them with companionship and what not. Heck, don't Prefects/Quidditch Players/so on, so forth get their own special party in the Great Hall near the end of the year or something along those lines? Heck, Logan even gets access to that super exclusive bathroom.

It's all a matter of whether or not ya'll want to know Logan from previous engagments, or stick to knowing of him and his reputation from going to the same school, as it was my understanding we don't strictly need to know each other on a personal level to be going on this seemingly long-running traditional voyage.

That's true, but characters generally shouldn't exist in a vacuum, and on equivalent gap years, people, in my experience, tend to go as groups of friends. Either way, Hufflepuff is the better choice of house for Michael so you'd better deal with it. :P

Well, I sort of assumed at least a couple of people would want to have a not-even-five-foot-tall sidekick with a cat that sleeps on his head.

I wasn't trying to say "Go to Slytherin you're not welcome in the almighty House Hufflepuff the greatest House that ever was or will be." just if you thought it'd be more appropriate to go for it. But since apparently that's not the case, I suppose Logan's bringing the every-man and the Aussie with him. Heh.

When you say both, who else do you mean other than Lydia?

In other news, can I suggest we make a character sheet thread? There's quite a few characters, spread over different pages, with a tonne of info in each. It'd make life a billion times easier to navigate and compare. :)

Yes please! I've been busy with losing a job, bf vomiting blood, and stress. Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. If one of you would like to make the thread that would save me the trouble. I'll pm everyone that's been inactive and I'll keep you all updated. I want to start this really soon.

I sure do hope so! My birthday was last Saturday and I spent the beginning of my day calling the police as a large/loud woman was in my face. Le sigh...

Catchamber is still with us. As we've privately discussed, they would prefer making NPC villains and plot, If that's alright with everyone.

Yes! So I've sent Jannah, Arlear, and Fowlishness a pm. Hopefully we hear back soon. Although, Arlear and Fowl have been off the grid for a week and Jannah had an essay to write but never got back on the deadline date. We might just have to continue on without them. If they're really interested though, they can join the group later on
