A Hogwarts RP?

I don't think I've seen one around on the new site (I don't wanna steal someone's thunder if there is, so let me know if there is haha), but I was cleaning out my closet and found a ton of books i read when i was a younger man hahaha, and of those books were the Harry Potter Series! I started to re read them, and i thought it would be cool to have an RP where you can be a student at Hogwarts, learning about magic and potions, and doing all the fun things that the books brought in to our minds and the movies!

It would be a group of teenagers ranging from at least 11 to at most 18. It'll have students picking their own Houses (the sorting hat would of course be in the RP haha), going to classes, playing Quidditch, hanging out, having relationships, etc!

It'll be set long after the Harry Potter series, so some time after 2017, when Hogwarts reopened after it was destroyed all those years ago. And i'm not sure if i will want some new evil to come back or not, but we'll see if enough people are interested!

hahaha oh believe me, i won't be judging, its been quite some time since i've read the books and will make mistakes too, but I'll do my best to keep it accurate, and make it fun for everyone!

I'll post an OOC soon, and as for dark wizards, I think we can start that plot deeper in to the RP

It could be a professor that still believes in what Voldem-- I mean.... He Who Must Not Be Named.... believed in, like the whole Pure Blood thing, and its up to some of the student's AKA: Us to stop his/her/their plans because the other teachers and students don't believe it?

We'll see, but for now it'll be just a typical school year for Hogwarts hahaha

Would it be alright if we had a character who was into studying dark arts? Not, an evil character, just...curious about them.

I'm actually planning on making a character like that, as the dark arts would be something I'd probably look into if Hogwarts existed and I got in. If it's alright with the GM that is.

Mhm. Same here. I'm of the opinion that calling them 'evil' is a bit, harsh. It really just depends on how you use something that defines if its evil or not. If magic was real and all I'd like to study them to learn more about them. Maybe try to defend against them.

I could tell you'd might want a character like that after seeing Dark Twilight in your avatar there :p. I think that in the HP world dark magic is just looked down upon, but not completely outlawed. Durmstrang Institute, the school where Krum came from, even taught the Dark Arts. And yeah, to actually defend against the Dark Arts you'd have to know them.

Use of the Unforgivable Curses is just that "Unforgivable"
I'm sure in Defense against the Dark Arts that The spells are covered but not taught as knowledge of their workings is considered unsavory especially for children
