[Omega Man]

In the 30th century, the galaxy is a crowded place. There are thousands of inhabited worlds and intelligent species, and very few of them get along with each other. Still, there are those who believe that a united galaxy is the best solution for everybody. One of those is R.J. Brande, one of the richest men in the galaxy. He pushed for a United Planets organization to handle conflicts between systems, and while he had some support, he also had a lot of resistance. There were some who opposed him so strongly that they wished him dead. One of these assassination attempts was in the presence of three teenagers, strangers to each other. The three youths worked together instantly, foiling the assassination and capturing the suspects. Brande saw in them the embodiment of all he had been working towards, and convinced them to follow in the footsteps of the great heroes of the 20th century. They wore costumes and used code names and became the Legion of Super-Heroes.



The Legion has always been a fun concept but something I think is missing from the comics is that old flair of seeing a new hero or heroine. So we'll take the basic concept of three individuals starting the Legion with a younger RJ Brande. Starting weeks after the assassination attempt, the Legion's benefactor started the Legion Academy and issued Legion flight/universal translator rings to several new young heroes training to be protectors of the United Planets. We're still based in 30th Century Metropolis, aliens are everywhere.

The idea for this game is to recreate the Legion using whatever past material you wish for inspiration. Character Sheets should be sent to me via PM and approved before being posted here or in the OOC. Character Sheets must include but are not limited to:

Brief Bio - Minx grew up in a typical familial setting - Her parents keeping the temperatures low for her household, and teaching her how to control it. Chemical Kinetics, on this planet, is the most important subject and honestly the most boring. Because of her low marks, she just sort of got by in classes and was nothing but a wallflower on her home planet. On a school trip visiting Earth, her life was changed in a very peculiar way, and she along with two others became the founders of Legion.

Name - Awor Helos

Appearance -
Awor, much like the people of Gleatune themselves, has two distint forms. The first is his short fat form. Standing at around 5'8 Awor weighs an incredible 1,100 pounds. He has a bit of a waddle in his step, and is fairly slow. However he can use all the fat cells in his body to grow in size. Able to grow up too 20 feet tall. It causes all the fat in his body to redistribute. Making him appear much more handsome.
Age - 16
Powers - Possessing two distinct forms. Awor's body is naturally a very blob like form. Which not only makes him super strong and durable enough to take a freight truck head on and feel nothing, but his girth also gives him the ability to absorb anything that comes his way. Easily able to absorb and re-project any projectile thrown his way.

On the other side of the coin, Awor's body can take all the fat cells and use them to make his body grow bigger. Making him go from a flabby fat man to a 20 foot tall muscular hunk. He gains more strength like this, however he loses some of his durability. Plus a fall for him in his giant form is more painful than the same fall for a normal sized person with all the weight.
Personality - Proud, kind-hearted, confident
Brief Bio - If you ask any other species about the people of Gleatune they'd usually have the same thought. Tall, beautiful, powerful, Gleatunians are considered to be a great species. Revered and feared for their large stature, and power. Often they help in construction on other planets, the resources allowing them to make their planet a massive utopia of technology. A planet that can make most other species feel like ants.

However Gleatunians hold a deep, deep secret that they're ashamed of. That their bodies aren't quite what they make themselves out to be to everyone else. Gleatunians are able to be giants sure, but their most natural form lays in how they are when their normal sized. A large blob like form that although still powerful, is not one people on Gleatune are particularly proud of. So they've always presented themselves as the giants they all wished they were only.

However if you aren't quite as well off finically on the planet. You'll usually end up in homes not as big, meaning you have to be in your smaller, fatter form much more often. Awor Helos was someone who grew up like this. In a small home with his parents and two siblings. Awor always enjoyed himself big, and never understood why people expected him to be a giant when he left the house. As he grew older Awor got annoyed by the consception that the only way to be happy on his home planet was by being a giant and pretending the fat small form they had was some illusion. Wanting to prove to himself, and his people, that both forms were just as powerful. Awor left his planet one night to seek a voice, a way to show his home planet that their shame is pointless, and that they should be proud of who they are.
Notes - People of Gleatune are completely unable to digest any whole foods, as they only have a trachea going from their mouths. Instead they digest liquids only through physical contact. Sucking it in like a sponge.

Powers - plant generation and manipulation
Personality - mellow, blunt, understanding
Brief Bio - Aurki was visiting Metropolis on Earth some short time after graduating the equivalent of high school on his homeworld, Ustrid. It was there that he joined the ice manipulator from Tharr and the giant-man in saving billionaire and United Planets supporter RJ Brande in an attempt on his life in Centennial Park in front of the Superman monument. During the attempt on his life Brande came up with the idea of the Legion [of Superheroes] and all the support it could help bring to the United Planets' cause was something of value. Aurik took the name Wildvine after moving to Earth permanently. A weekly check from RJ didn't hurt and it provided Aurik money enough to send home to family.
Notes - The people from Ustrid are all plant generators and/or manipulators to a degree, he was seen as one of the strongest among his people.

Say for instance I wanted to play a normal Martian which has more than 3 powers as part of its normal physiology.

Would I have to ignore all but 3 of its abilities?

You could skip the heightened physical attributes and have shape shifting, telepathy, and Martian vision and it cover all the bases. Flight is a given with a Legion flight ring so....

I moved on to another character. Besides Martian was only an example wasn't necessarily going to make a little green alien character.

Not sure what planet to use as a homeworld, human looking, is a Mechanokinetic and is a natural genius. Platinum blonde (at least for now) female if that matters. Still working on the bio and notes section.
