The OOC for Supernatural Task Force

Plot: Murder with a side of hell, served up on a silver platter.

Background: The city has a supernatural task force, which is basically freelance, except when the city's police deem their cases are more than meets the eye and delves into the realm of the supernatural. The task force was started by Max Avendir (my character for the RP). All the members of the task force have "powers", if you will. They are able to detect and see the supernatural, as well as use dark magic of witchcraft and wizardry. Most of the cases of the task force deal with missing person stolen items and the occasional murder.

Can I ask what the minimum age for a character would be?

While I type up a charsheet—antman, did you have anything specific in mind concering the "powers"? Would people have different kinds of magic powers (I'm thinking paranormal Teen Titans, heh, you know, different areas of expertise), or would everyone simply have access to the same dark magic?

Personality: He is a bit of a joker. He is always cracking jokes and uses this to hide his feeling. He honestly intelligent but likes to hide it behind his jokes and a smile. Something clearly has happened in his past that scared him.

Bio: He was born to a family of well different people. His father had been attacked by something when he was little so he trained Jack and his little brothers how to fight back. His skills are mainly in fighting the evils of the world. He is specialized the way of fighting back against most creatures however there is a catch. His father and youngest brother was killed during a rather violent fight. Jack decided to join the task force after he got out of the military. He very rarely wears his old uniform if ever.
Other: He got his nickname from how hard he punches. He is a rather great fighter except he prefers his weapons.
Power: He knows a great deal of blood magic. He can draw wards in blood to have different effects. For example one ward could keep an enemy out for a bit depending on how powerful the ward is. Or using his blood he could heal an injury. Perhaps he could harm an enemy with a different seal.

Everyone has access to the same dark magic, but each possess something unique like you were thinking perhaps? I'm open to suggestions.

I'm thinking mid 20's for minimum and like 50 would be max age.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Which parts of the magic you'd focus on would come down to your personality, I guess. I think I'll go with someone who focuses on rituals more than throwing fireballs. You know, drawing pentagrams, communicating with spirits, the works.

Oh hell yes, I was hoping for a guy who does rituals cause part of what i wanted for my character deals with rituals, but I don't perform them myself, so when we come to that part, your character could do the ritual.

That's all I'm saying. I don't want to spoil anything.

I am just saying my guy knows a good deal of voodo. Like he can use different powers of the loa.

What do you mean by the different powers? What is loa? btw, I'd remove the machine gun from your character and your character is fine by me. If you need a gun its a revolver type with silver bullets.

Hmm. I think I'll change it to blood magic. He can create wards to either hurt or block or heal depending on the type of ward. It does not have to be his blood but it is best if so.

Here's my character

Name: Max Avendir
Age: 25
Gender: male
Weapons:

Appearance: But he has the buster sword strapped to his back.

Personality: He's a bit set in his ways, sort of cocky and has a dark sense of humor

Bio: Leader of the task force, discovered his "power" when he was 18. He lived with his mother, as his father had left when he was only 2. One night he came home to find his mother killed and her body left on the floor with her eyes still open. Max closed his mothers eyes and prayed for her safe to heaven, but as he closed her eyes he saw the ones who killed her and he freaked out, started crying, fell over and leaned on his mother's body and saw the image of the killers again. It was at this point that he realized this must be something he could do and deemed to find the killers and avenge his mothers death. When he was 20 he met a guy who told him that he should use the gift to help people, but when he started his own freelance detective agency, he encountered all the supernatural occurrences and shortly after the task force was formed.

That sounds pretty cool. Are you comfortable with removing the machine gun from your weaponry?

Haha awesome. Give me a little bit and I'm going to post up the start RP. I am totally looking forward to seeing how this develops.
