Grace & Elina & Gus in the entry Hall

As soon as Gus set Elina down Grace went into action. This was not Elina's first Narcolepsy attack and really all the girl needed was time for her mind and body to reconnect, at least that is what Shelby had told Grace.

But Grace never one to leave a potential problem unaddressed had done a bit of reading in both magical an muggle tomes on the subject.

She read that narcoleptics experience cataplexy, or a sudden muscular weakness brought on by strong emotions, though others experienced cataplexy without having an emotional trigger which was a major point of confusion.

Grace had read several volumes on the subject after discovering it's existence. She knew that the muggles used drug treatment to cure the problem but that the wizarding world viewed it with little or no regard to find a cure.

She was therefore left with only instinct which told her make the girl comfortable.

Turning to Gus she first noticed he was worried and addressed that first before asking a favor of him
"Don't worry Gus she'll be okay soon her mind has simply decided that now is sleep time. So could you please be a dear and fetch my cloak and the one next to it so we can keep her warm an provide her head a pillow till she awakens or Madame Pomfrey decides she should be moved?" says Grace in a calm an soothing tone

Grace hears a man commanding all step aside and when he asks her name and trys to get her to do the same she says
"I am Grace Goodspeed Prefect of Hufflepuff and I know what is wong with my sister of the house but I do not know you sir an shall not be relieving my responsibility Elain at this moment.
Gus the robes, please?"

"Get out of the way, klutz! People were yelling at her, but Willow stood her ground even though every instinct told her to run.

"N-no! You need to step back!" She shouted.

"Who's back there?!?!"

"Nobody! A-a-a-and it's none of your business!"[/i] She replied. No matter what, nobody was getting past her and causing Elina unnecessary harm. She was quickly getting overpowered by the students, though, since nobody took her seriously.

Soon the teachers were getting the students back to their seats, away from the entrance. As they left, they shot Willow more dirty looks. Better her than that girl though... She felt a small flame of pride at what she did for her...too bad she'd never know. She looked back at the group at the entrance, praying the girl would quickly recover from...whatever happened.

Finch frowned as the girl said "I am Grace Goodspeed Prefect of Hufflepuff and I know what is wong with my sister of the house but I do not know you sir an shall not be relieving my responsibility Elain at this moment.
Gus the robes, please?"

Finch responded
"Miss my name is Markus Finch, I am an Auror, I shouldn't have to explain what that means to a prefect, so I'm going to ask you to please step back and let me take a look at her."

Grace stands up to Finch

Miss my name is Markus Finch, I am an Auror, I shouldn't have to explain what that means to a prefect, so I'm going to ask you to please step back and let me take a look at her."

Grace turns to the Auror her normally friendly smile replaced by her mother's expression dubbed the "Freeze"
"How lovely to know you Mr. Finch but as the girls Prefect and you being a an Auror I can see where your station begins to overlap my own but I have information on her condition and have summoned Madame Pomfrey the school nurse.
I will step aside but remain close at hand to monitor you with a female student under my care and that is all I shall concede

Grace shows no trace of fear nor of concern for confronting an Auror only concern for Elina

Samantha noticed a commotion happening in the front of the entrance. She walked towards it noticing Willow and some girl that was almost going to faint.(?) Samantha noticed Willow telling everyone to back up. She noticed some kids laughing at Willow and calling her a klutz. "Do you want me to show you who is gonna be a klut?!" She turned to the kids as she showed them her fists. She was going to beat they ass if they got with Willow, sticking her tongue at them she turned back to the girl hoping that she was okay. It was weird seeing people fainting...maybe because they were justso nervous about the school year?

From his own table, Casimir watched as a crowd of people began to try and swarm towards a person being dragged away. Said person had apparently fainted, making that two people that Casimir knew of had fainted today. He saw that the crowd didn't really get too far though, namely because of Willow preventing anyone from doing so despite her occasionally faltering voice.

"Props to her," Casimir thought quietly with a slight smile, a bit glad to see the normally shy girl take a stand in a huge room full of people.

There was a lot of drama going on for the first day, Casimir noted. This was certainly going to be an interesting school year.

Finch listened carefully as the Prefect spoke back to him. His frown slowly turning in a smile.
"My dear, what ever do you think I'm going to do to this young girl? I only want to help until Madame Pomfrey arrives."

Finch knelt down next to the girl from the carriage "It's not magic, you said you know what's wrong with her?"

Grace & Elina & Mr Finch

Elina suffers from a condition called narcolepsy and once she is stricken with an attack it is best that we merely wait out it's duration.
The Muggles have treatments for it but as of yet St. Mungo's has not done much research into the condition.
says Grace relaxing her posture a bit.

She takes her robe and another girl's robe and uses one as a pillow and the other as a blanket. After seeing to Elina's comfort she tells any other students to return to their seats or be penalized points for not doing so

Her demeanor when returning to Elina's side is very gentle and caring, she's even nice to Mr Finch till Madame Pomfrey appears and takes her to the infirmary

Finch remains with the girls until Madame Pomfrey arrives, he helps Pomfrey take Elina away then turns to Grace his face losing its smile slightly.

"Now I realize that was your friend and you care for her, but you must understand that disobeying orders from an Auror can get you killed. There was no danger today luckily, but this school has had its share of dangers over the years. So please from now on respect the authority invested in your superiors, we have that power for a reason."

Finch lets the girl soak this in and stands waiting for the near inevitable response from the girl, he could only hope that it would be of agreement. This school could get very dangerous this year.

Artemis sat at the farthest end of the table, a shiny crimson apple rested on a napkin in front of him. The white-haired boy took one glance at the drama before turning his ruby-red irises towards his small snack, noting his pale reflection in the delicious fruit. Picking the apple up, Artemis gave himself a small smirk before taking a small chunk out of the red skin, sitting the apple back down on it's napkin and swallowing the small portion of fruit. To anyone looking in at the short boy with bone-white hair, it would look as if he was simply eating a before-lunch snack, but Artemis took this small break to think of any future plans he may take into account this year.

'Hm...' Artemis took out another chunk of apple, before swiftly swallowing the portion and rolling the stem through his fingers. 'My...book. I definitely want to check it out more in-depth once in the safety of the Slytherin Dungeons.' he thought with a mental nod, absent-mindedly banishing the finished apple core from the table. He could see Casimir sitting a bit farther down the table, watching the drama going on farther along in the room. The seventh year was the only other one who knew of the book, and the only one who WOULD know. Artemis would make sure of that. He was already hesitant about sharing the potential information with an unknown.

"I need the assistance, however," The frail boy sighed quietly, resting his face in his hands, and watching the interaction among wizards with bored, yet plotting crimson irises. 'It's only a matter of time..'

"Our biggest challenge is Ravenclaw. The seventh year Glazer. She packs a deadly blow. Hear she can play any position too... but as long as Ray and Ed do what they usually do, and we get to that blasted snitch, we will be fine--" The Fifth year Gryffindor boys all stopped talking to hear the commotion going on at the Hufflepuff table. Raymond was confused, the crowd making it hard to see who it was. Then his shoulder got pushed to the side as Willow came rushing down the aisle, standing by the door. Ray smiled a bit. He knew she had a sense of courage in there somewhere. The sorting hat is good at decisions.

Just then the doors opened fully again after being shut. The students who were away from their tables immediately sat down. Willow seemed was still at the door. Standing there were the four Heads of the Houses. In the front was a brown hair woman dressed in scarlet and gold robes. She carried a dusty old hat in her hands. She looked down to see Willow. "Excuse me, Miss Matthews." The strong voice said, not seeming to be upset from her being up with the first years. She must have known what she was doing.

Hermione Weasley, the Head of Gryffindor walked by them followed by Slytherin's Cyril Voss, Ravenclaw's Elizabeth Dawn, and Hufflepuff's Rachel Blake. All wearing their house colors as they strode in. Hermione placed the hat on a wooden stool, and stood by it with a scroll in her hand. The rest took their seats at the head table. "Before we begin the ceremony... Headmaster Blevins would like to make some announcements..." There was confusion from the first years when they saw the headmaster seat not filled. But their thoughts were soon answered when in a flash and a cloud of smoke Headmaster Blevins appeared. He wore a dark purple robe, his snow white beard was long. He had steel gray eyes, they looked around with a twinkle of excitement and wonder, as if he saw something truly incredible. The first years were in an awe, and as the final members of the castle came in to the hall, the headmaster raised his hands to quiet them all down.

15 minutes later

Elina walks out of the infirmary as if nothing happend. She is a bit sleepy though ''Thank you missis Pomfrey hope I wasn't a bother again.'' she said while rubbing her eye. And closed the door behind her. She walks through the empty halls of Hogwarts towards the great hall were the opening ceremony has probably already started. She opens the doors to the great hall trying not to disturb anyone. Few people are watching her enter, she sits down on the place she sat before, leaned a but back and touched the fox that was under her seat. She hears some second years talking about her across the table ''She just fell asleep just now, is that even possible with that much noise around'' She could handle it it was nothing ordinary. She searched for gus while the ceremony continued on.

Grace & Mr Finch

"Now I realize that was your friend and you care for her, but you must understand that disobeying orders from an Auror can get you killed. There was no danger today luckily, but this school has had its share of dangers over the years. So please from now on respect the authority invested in your superiors, we have that power for a reason." The man says to her then stands as if waiting an appology

"Mr. Finch........while I understand the necessity of complying with the orders of authorities placed in charge of my safety I can also state several cases against.
I do not say this as an act of defiance but as a point of clarification.
In the situation previous it was my responsibility whether for friend or not to remain with her till relieved by either the Head girl or a teacher of this school, my own fate inconsequential.
says standing regally before the man as would her mother if in the right

Grace has been trained since able to understand to join the family business as well as how, when and why to exercise that power which resides within her family name and wealth.
"Some mistake our position as one of entitlement but in fact it is of grave responsibility." Said her mother once.

Grace has since birth admired and emulated Cecilia Goodspeed her mother and like the grand matriarch of the Goodspeed clan is a force to be reckoned.

"Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus"
"Never tickle a sleeping dragon" is the Hufflepuff and Goodspeed motto and they are a "Familia Dracones" (Family of Dragons)

"If you will please excuse me I ask that I be allowed to return to the Hufflepuff tables unless you do require I accompany you to face charges of obstruction, defiance of authority or any other charges you as the offended party wish addressed offers Grace even outlining those potential charges against her.

Willow blushed fiercely as the head of Gryffindor house addressed her. She's always looked up to Hermione Weasley. She looked down at her shoes, not wanting to offend, and quickly walked back to her seat so the ceremony could start. Several students snickered as she sat down, causing her to turn even more red. She clasped her hands tightly, turning her head so she can give the headmaster her full attention as he appeared at the front of the room.

Finch shook his head and chuckled, my how the times had changed

"Go young lady, have fun, just show a little trust next time is all I'm asking. "

Finch stepped aside allowing the girl to pass and then followed her back inside.

"Wonderful" He thought aloud to himself, the headmaster had arrived and he wasn't there to greet him.

Finch began limping back up the aisle this time choosing to pass the far side of the room, hopefully he'd draw little attention to himself.

When he reached the head table he gave a nod the headmaster and took his seat again.

Professor Mystérieux observes the students in the Banquet hall

Henri greets Hagrid as he takes a seat with the other teachers at the head table
"Ah Hagrid a pleasure to see you once more, I must thank you for your aid in finding stableing for Ciel blanc " says Henri with a strange french accent.

"It twere nuthin, she's a veri special mare from ma eye O horse flesh" says Hagrid in his own special accent

"Oui, en effet, she was a gift of Le Cheval Fantôme" says Henri

"Did you say Ghost Horse?" Asks Hagrid

"Oui the Ghost Horse.
I was traveling through the Snake River Valley in search of a Thunder Bird's nest in the hope of securing a discarded feather for a friend who was too old to travel in such rugged terrain.
Well one night Ii decided to make my camp at the foot of the Seven Devil Mountains..
That night I heard the thundering of the hooves of many Horses. The next morning I went out to see if I could find the tracks of so large a herd an found nothing except a poor old stallion who'd foundered in a mud bog.
Let me tell you that it was difficult even using magic to get the old fellow out. He was in such poor condition that I knew he'd not last but a few more days.
Well doing as would any humane person I tried to make him as comfortable as possible and three days later when he passed away I buried him then moved on.
It was the very next night when I'd moved camp to mount Horrible that I had a dream. In this dream was the most beautiful white stallion I have ever beheld and he spoke to me.
He said he was Le Cheval Fantôme the Ghost Horse and that I had shown him such kindness as he'd not known in many years. He then said I would find a reward by the winding river. The next morning I encountered Ciel who walked up to me unbidden and would not leave my presense and hasn't since that day 2 years ago"
says Henri explaining his mare's origins

"Now tha there be ah pleasing tale err I heard says Hagrid chuckling

After her ultimatum to leave Willow alone, Acacia went back to conversing with her fellow Slytherins. Needless to say, most weren't to happy about what she had declared. They would see it as a sign of weakness most likely, but none dared stand up to her, at least for now. No doubt others would talk in secret against her wishes. Well, that would be fine. If she caught them, then she'd deal with them appropriately. She did flash Casimir a small smile, however, just to mock him. She knew he hated being looked down upon, even more so when someone got the last word in an argument.

Acacia watched as the first years began to file into the Great Hall, Awestruck at what they were seeing. She produced a small smile as she watched them, somewhat reminded of her first day and year here. She was almost immediately sorted into Slytherin, almost right as the Sorting Hat was barely placed upon her head. She had found it odd herself at first. She had wanted to be in Gryffindor, just like her brother and the rest of her family. Now though, she couldn't see herself being anything but a Slytherin. She wondered how many would get sorted into Slytherin. She had no problem with more people in her house, in fact she welcomed it, but new people meant more competition. More people that would have to learn that her word, was practically law in the house and if they challenged her, they better have the skill and cunning to back it up. No sense in worrying or thinking about that now though. She would deal with the new house members soon enough.

She noticed Willow give her a smile from across the room, one she happily returned as she awaited the start of the feast. However, it seemed the first day of this year was going to be quite interesting, as a crowd began to form at the front of the hall, apparently some commotion starting. First Willow fainted on the train, then something else happening in the Great Hall. She was too far away to make out any details herself, but she did see Willow in the middle of it all, causing her to frown. If they were picking on her, she'd have to act. Instead though, Willow seemed to actually stand up for herself, and someone else. She was actually momentarily stunned by that. That was good that she was standing up for herself, but troublesome at the same time. She'd have to look into that later, because right now the head of the houses strode in, and addressed the students.

The headmaster made a rather, gaudy entrance. Smoke and all. He looked like your typical old wizard. Overgrown white beard, robe, and everything else. He raised a hand, motioning them to be quiet. She wondered what exactly he wanted to address them about. She was a bit hungry, and she was ready for that feast to start. She hoped the senile looking headmaster would hurry it up.

Isaak was surprised by the fainting of the Hufflepuff named Elina Hirasawa, how many more of these were going to happen? he didn't get up from his seat knowing that it was better to stay put and not crowd the area. after all the commotion was over, he was curious to see how the sorting ceremony and who would be joining Slytherin this year. he was also curious to know why an Auror was here at Hogwarts, did have to do with certain students practicing dark magic or was it something else entirely? Isaak would probably try to figure out of the man's motives sometime later in the school year. from his knowledge of the schools history, usually when a member of the Ministry of Magic was at Hogwarts, it meant that the wizarding government might be interfering with the school, and the stories of Deloris Umbrage came to mind, which made him nearly gag with disgust.

but he didn't think that the Auror was here for such purposes, and Isaak focused more on the headmaster's entrance. this meant that the sorting was about to begin, and he was getting interested. it was only just a year ago that he had been in the group of first years waiting to be sorted. he had been so nervous and worried about not getting into Slytherin that he was thinking of how he would write to his parents with the news that he had been placed in the house that all of his family had been apart of. he had given a huge sigh of relief when the sorting hat yelled out Slytherin after speaking to him in his mind, and he was just glad to have been put in the house. now it was his turn to watch all of the first years be placed into their respected houses, and he hoped that Slytherin would get the most students.

Roy couldn't help but laugh when Frankie questioned him about girls. "Kissing me is never a mistake Frankie. No girl has ever regretted kissing me. If anything they regret I wouldn't kiss them more," he responded with a self-satisfied grin and a chuckle. "Play your cards right, and maybe one day you'll know the delight that is snogging with me." He playfully threw in the little quip towards the end but he could tell she'd already shifted her attention elsewhere. His stomach rumbled. As Frankie bothered Erasmus, he turned to look at the teacher's table for any sign that the feast was about to begin.

The heads of houses were all absent, still in the other room with the first years. He could see it now, the nervous wide-eyed first years jumping at the approach of the heads of houses. The professors would then lead them through the door, striding up to the front of the hall, stool and hat in hand. The first years would follow watched by the mass of older students and the dark shadow behind them. Wait, dark shadow? No, just Professor Voss. Sure enough, a few seconds later the procession came in just like it had the past four years. Roy still had a clear memories of seeing Tacitus in the crowd when he was sorted and of Nolan at his own sorting. He'd always hoped Nolan would join him in Ravenclaw, but he'd gone to Slytherin like Judoc.

Excited for the sorting and then feast to begin, he felt a pang of hunger as Professor Granger said there'd be some announcements from the Headmaster. Right on cue, Blevins appeared in a flash and smoke. Roy suppressed a groan. Though he liked a bit of showmanship in his magic, he still preferred subtlety. Still, Blevins was a respected powerful wizard, if he liked bangs and flashes, so be it. He motioned Eramus and Frankie, the girl likely driving Erasmus to sheer embarrassment. It was likely that the headmaster would have nothing new to say this year, but he and his fellow Ravenclaws generally gave any teacher their full attention.

Frankie was uninterested in the rowdy manners of the other students. She didn't particularly cared about whatever had happened to whoever - she might have had a small inkling of curiosity, but she knew that with patience and friends, she'll figure it out soon enough. No, she was more focused on the aching in her stomach, the blush on Erasmus's face, and her overactive imagination that drew pictures across her mind. Despite her preoccupancy, Erasmus still continued to talk to her and she listened with a half ear. At times she would tune out as she did in most conversations, and at other times she would listen raptly. It was only when Roy caught her attention did she turn from Mussy to give her whole mind to the overdramatic headmaster. Secretly - or, more likely, not so - she wished McGonagall was still headmaster...The old woman seemed to be much smarter.
