...xDSorry, but someone should always expect there to be fast first posts when an IC just goes up.That said, you haven't missed anything that important. The only ones who have been up to anything are Me, Paige, Ace, and Yog. And we're just having our characters talk about nothing xPEDIT: Also, make sure you take into account the fact that the site messed up and a lot of repeat posts happened.

The twelve was the account of the repeated posts :P

I have a community question that I would like to ask everyone.

Do you think that we should be able to create custom spells, from Dark Arts to just average wizard spells? Nothing crazy, of course, but if we only used cannon spells...it would kind of get old over time, using the same spell over and over. I actually have a small journal with custom spells I think would be cool for Artemis (And anyone he considers 'friends' or 'allies') to eventually learn about, in which one of the more basic ones is explained (But not yet unlocked) in the first page of his book.

Of course, this would be up to the GM as the final answer, but it's worth discussing.

I was actually sort of wondering the same thing, Soul, though more with potions. I think we should be allowed some creative freedom.

Funnily enough, I was wondering the same thing for the entire day as well. Creative freedom would certainly add some flavor, and for those of us who only remember a handful of spells that don't even go with our characters personalities....

The only thing I could see Artemis using, out of the canon set, is most of the Dark Arts spell, Diffindo, Reducto, WIngardium Leviosa, and a few others.

Also, is Serpensortia only used by Snape, or is it considered a Dark Spell, and therefore in a book somewhere stashed away?

I agree with everyone. It also makes sense since it's been a really long time before Hogwarts reopened, so who knows what new spells and potions etc. were discovered in that time :) but we should wait for the GM to make the final decision too...just putting in my two cents! Also, I hope everyone doesn't mind that I made a slight addition to my character, I think it would be cool if she was really into Quidditch (especially since there are a lot of quidditch players on board!)

I don't really remember...I need to reread the series again haha But I believe that Snape created that spell himself and wrote it down in his old potions textbook...

@paigesweetheart, since when did pureblood witches and wizards start using phones and video chats? aren't they suppose to be old fashioned?

They are pretty old-fashioned...but I guess the attitudes towards technology could've changed since we're pretty far ahead into the future? But then again who knows...

Hrm...Well, I think they'd still use things like phones and things if they're living among muggles. Besides, most kids nowadays practically grow up around technology anyways, so I don't think its too far-fetched to say that some wizard children know how to use technology on some level.

i'd expect muggleborns and halfbloods to use technology, but in the books JK Rowling seems to make it look like purebloods are very secluded from the muggleworld and try to have as little contact with it as possible. but as you said many years have gone by so I guess there is the possibility of them becoming more close to muggles, but it still just seems weird reading that in a Harry Potter rp

Well, saying that all Purebloods are old-fashioned and 'secluded' from muggles seems a bit stereotypical. I wouldn't say that all pureblood families are like that.

But most are, I think the closest pure-bloods to technology in the books were the Weasley family and they were comically clueless about muggles. So, given the time, it might have changed but I doubt it would be too much. Change is gradual...

Yay, Casimir and Art are going on adventure! There will be much rule-screwing done by these two, I can already tell!

Huehue, that is, if Artemis accepts Casimir's offer.

Which he will.

I'm curious: Is the original teachers and such still here? I'm guessing that we will have a new Headmaster, duhuhuh, but do we know his name? His appearance? It's very easy for me to miss things, so I was just asking.
