The Story:
Narrator: No one was left who could remember how it had happened,
how the world had fallen under darkness.
At least no one who would do anything.
No one who would oppose the robots.
No one who would challenge their power,
or so Dr. Wily believed...
There is a skyline in the distance. A brilliant and bright city with building after building crowded into a dense and industrious center. The city is closer now. Rushing past the buildings to the base of one crumbling high-rise. The first story passes by. The second now, and with more speed. There is a blur of windows and brick. Eighteen... Nineteen...
Twenty floors above the dark streets of the city, Dr. Light lived in a run-down tenement.
An eccentric and brilliant man.
Light was a loner, a thinker, a man of ideas.
Ideas forbidden in Wily's society.
The society for which he worked.
The society in which he lived.
The society that he would set free.
And so Light worked, far into the night, when the watchful eyes of Wily's robots weren't upon him.
He'd set his skillful hands to the task of creating a device to bring about a change, to create a machine to bring freedom, to create a man to save the world.
Twelve years Light worked and on a cold night in the year 200X, Protoman was born.
A perfect man, an unbeatable machine, hell-bent on destroying every evil standing between man and freedom, built for one purpose, to destroy Wily's army of evil robots. Ready, willing, prepared to fight.
The streets, the arteries of this metropolis, run with bodies. Crowding together, they flow out of the city, toward a superstructure east of town. A factory. A fortress. Glancing at it the facade resembles the face of a skeleton. Smoke pours from the stacks high above the outer wall. The gates are open. A figure stands in the light before the entrance. Perfectly still, he waits. The crash of metal destroys the silence. One by one the Robots step forward, step into the light.

Fireman: Attack!
The violence is surreal. Metal against metal, the sound is deafening. For most, the reaction is automatic. Hands cover ears. Mothers reach to cover eyes of terrified children. The blows are quick and precise. This is Protoman. Dealing death without remorse, without hesitation, and still, the fight is unbalanced. One against so many. Protoman fights without fear of defeat, although it is inevitable. The men keep their distance, straining to see every crushing blow through the smoke that has surrounded the ongoing battle. The din stops abruptly. Unsettlingly.
Narrator: And as the smoke cleared!
Wily rose above the countless robots remaining. Protoman was wounded, low on energy, struggling to remain standing as Wily ordered the final attack.
The death of Protoman.
The crowd had gathered there to watch him fall, to watch their hopes destroyed.
They watched them beat him, they watched them break him, they watched his last defense deployed.
There was not a man among them who would let himself be heard.
But from the crowd, from their collective fear, arose these broken words:
We are the dead
We are the dead
Protoman, the First of the Light Brigade, created by Dr. Light to combat the Dystopian city in which they reside, has perished before the eyes of all that stood for liberating it. Now the Light Brigade must regroup, Dr. Light must create more robots to combat the evil of Dr. Wily, before the human population of the city is laid in crumbles. We shall hide. We shall fight. And one day, We shall be heroes.
1. No Godmodding.
2. No all powerful bullshit.
3. This rp is partially based on a Rock Opera with The Protomen. You better have a damn song every once in a while to express your feelings. One you have picked an artist I prefer you stick with them for their singing choice, though it is not required.
4. To prove you read the rules please put "I am a Hero" Somewhere in your CS
5. A lot of themes in the megaman universe have been taken. Try being a little more creative than 'fireman' and 'iceman'
6. Every once in a while I will push the story forward with a song by the Protomen. You CANNOT CHANGE THESE EVENTS. You can react to them, you can fight back, but you cannot, I repeat CANNOT CHANGE THESE EVENTS.
7. Have Fun :D
This Rp is based off of both Megaman and its fanband The Protomen, which contains heavy dark themes. That being said, This will be counted as a rock opera. If your Character needs to sing out an emotion, by all means go ahead, I encourage it!

THE LIGHT BRIGADE
Appearance:
Stands at 6'10 with a slender frame. Plating is similar to the human skeletal structure with a black housing within the structure where systems operate. Usually clad in a black trench coat with white belts of Kevlar from the waist to the collar, a tan shirt with the 'super villain' emblem on the chest, white jeans ticked into black steel-toed boots with lightly raised heels with a single black kneepad on the left knee. Arguably a longing to be human again, or at least cling to his humanity, 'Skull Man' wears clothes of the like. He changes it up depending on the occasion.
"We will build and we will be heroes..."
'And I was built, and so I am...and so, I am a Hero...Against my will.'
Real Name: Jericho K. Sinclair
Alias: Skull Man
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Human, Robot, Cyborg?: Cyborg
Abilities:
- Artificially heightened stamina from bionic replacements. Internal CO2 reburners processing CO2 'inhaled' to feed the core. In such respect, he never needs to sleep, although takes pleasure in dreams, being one of the few human activities he is naturally capable of.
- Fine finger dexterity, most came naturally from muscle memory and the rest from the newly obtained machine-precision. As an artist and a trickster in life, twirling knives or rolling coins between his knuckles was as easy as breathing from years of practice. Just another bit of himself he's glad he had retained, although resentful for the mechanical assistance, finding the result artificial and soulless. He aspired to perfection, knowing it was unachievable, though savoring the chase. But, having it being given to him so simply and with such ease...
-Skull Man design is built with dense plating which makes the general frame highly resistant to impact damage at the cost of speed and weight. Because of this, Skull Man weighs some 354 kilograms. Movement speed is to a far lesser degree than most other robots and cyborgs, though still roughly around upper human average...assuming the surface he is moving across can sustain the stress.
- Increased strength from bionic replacements. To accommodate the weight of his dense plating, Skull Man's physical strength is appropriately tuned. The human will is a thing of beauty. The body can be limited or broken, but the heart continues to beat until its very last. Until that time comes, the strength of such devotion to life will give strength to even the weak as to claw their way through such efforts to snuff out its rhythm. (a robot knows its limit, a human insists it has none)
- The Skull barrier takes the form of a dull black haze with rippling distortions across its surface in the shape of skulls. The barrier can soak most small arms fire, but wears down with sustained fire or from massive damage. Compared to Skull Man's plating, its nothing special. The main power of it is to supplement his strength through melee; the charged photon field repulsing and scalding on touch. Energy is released upon each impact with equal force against the barrier, including Skull Man's very weight. This in mind, the barrier is very temporary and can take an upwards of 30 seconds to a minute to recharge in between 5 to 10 second bursts, respectively.
Weapon: -Bare hands supplemented by the Skull Barrier (when active). In a rough world, one learns to fight for every scrap of life, Jericho was a skilled street-fighter out of necessity. Its not uncommon for him to use improvised weapons.
-Spines along the back of his head can be pulled out and used as improvised knives in a pinch, although the effectiveness is negligible, considering Skull man's strength. The spines are better suited for ranged-harass. Carbon reconstructors in his head can 'regrow' lost spines over the course of a day, though is slowed from the stress of multiples spines being generated at once.
Personality: Despite his appearance, Jericho is quite civil, gentlemanly, and reserved even under stress to the point of being unsettling at times. However, under the surface is a consuming rage and crippling depression which share bunks of reasons, although such emotions aren't appropriate in most circumstance. Most of himself isn't quite used to the robotic body, having once been a charismatic 'artist' of sorts. The artificial eyes he now possesses cannot accurately read color, displaying the world in a stark black with white outlines and variously colored outlines on objects of interest. He is accepting of his state, although jealous of 'full' humans, considering himself less than that...but tools are made to be used, and he owes a great debt to Doctor Light who, at his deepest roots, he shares views with. He dreads the day that he may potentially be 'put away' after his purpose had been fulfilled. He distracts himself from the depression of such thoughts with his more short-term goal: Kill Bombman.
Short Bio: Jericho lived as comfortably as one could in the time leading up to his death, homeless, with his fiance who had shared in the same fate after their apartment having been nearly leveled from a fight which sparked between Wily 'peacekeepers' and a ragtag resistance attempt. Pawning their art to make a living as sidewalk musicians and graffiti artists, the two sought to spread the message of hope through graffiti...until they were caught. In their attempts to escape peacekeepers, the duo were stopped...to death...by Bombman. There was barely enough of the two to create one cyborg; Jericho's brain, haunted by his helplessness to save his love, Joanna, whose reconstructed heart now pumps coolants through Skull Man's frame.
Though he was grateful to Dr. Arthur Light for giving him a second chance, his emotions that ensued would bring about Skull Man's disappearance for the next month and a half. Robbed of everything, even his concept of the afterlife, Jericho went back to all he knew, the streets and the arts. Failure after failure, his love for all he had known melted; his art perfect...disgustingly and soullessly so, and his loneliness nailing him into the coffin he now lived in with every encounter with humans. He was a monster...or at least looked the part and, in this world run with the oppressive robotic thumb of Wily, the imagination only needed the slightest hint of his nature to condemn him on the spot.
...And so he returned, if only to seek redemption.
Theme Song: Subject to change.

Singing Voice] Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd in 'Sweeney Todd"
Extra: Capable of playing the piano or guitar.
The carbon reburners in his respiratory system creates a thick hydrogen mist as a waste product, exhaled occasionally in dull wisps of steam.
Appearance:
Under the Helmet:
Real Name: Tom Stardust
Alias: Starman
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Human, Robot, Cyborg?: Cyborg
Abilities:
- Prefering speed and agility over physical strenght, Starman is more of a "hit-and-runner" than a "bruiser".
- As part of Dr. Light's "improvements", Starman's physical state and senses are enhanced over a regular human's capabilities. Although he isn't as strong as most of the other Protomen, Starman has the speed and precision of a peregrine falcone, and the agility of whichever animal is considered most agile.
- Starman can "flash". This basically means he can move himself (and what/whomever is with him) about 40 feet from his original location in the brink of an eye, leaving a flashing light behind. However, this takes a lot of energy and doing it repeatedly at larger distances or with heavier cargo can be extremely exhausting. It is hypothesized that he could use this ability during a dog fight to dodge shots, but he hasn't tried this yet.
- He remains more human than most of the other protomen, and he still has that "human element" that separates men from machine.
Weapon: Starbeam hand-gun. His fists and kicks.
Personality: Starman likes to seem cool and collected; but underneath his facade there is a nervous, insecure man. He didn't use to be like this, but ever since he became a witness for Willy's menace he has felt the weight of the world's future on his shoulders. He tries to be relatable and personable, which can be a hard thing to do with robots and cyborgs.
Short Bio: Killed by the hands of one of Willy's goons. Brought back by Dr. Light. Tom was a jet fighter pilot, but when he came back to consciousness and heard the good Doctor talk about his cause, he understood it's importance. Volunteering his services under his new alias, Starman, he became completely dedicated to helping Dr. Light. Light sent him find a hypothetical mineral called "protonium". Now, back after an unsuccessful search, Starman must tell Light about his failure and await new instructions. Because of this, he feels as if it's imposible for him to say "I am a Hero."

Appearance:
Real Name: Justin Collins
Alias: Swing
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Human, Robot, Cyborg?: Human
Abilities: Decent knowledge of robotics (enough to make a simple robot become more complex) Basic understanding of design and arms management.
Weapon: Two buster pistols and a big ol’ wrench
Personality: An eccentric thinker, he tries to find use in all things, no matter what. He will go to no ends to prove a point as well, be it a year wait til he can prove it, he’ll remember and remind everyone of what he said. Other than that, he is a guy who likes to lazily talk to his robot buddy he built himself. He enjoys to retell stories to new people, but not the same person twice. he likes the feeling of the new audience. He doesn’t see himself as a hero, more as a guy trying to make it on his own.
Short Bio: Since he was young, he always looked up to Dr. Wiley. Well, he did until he took over things and ran them into the dirt. Then he stopped following anyone related to robotics and took his own path. He didn’t want to add robots to the world, considering all of them ended up defecting or being decommissioned. He simply made sculptures out of the robot scrap he found coming from Wiley’s headquarters from failed projects. He eventually found a fully functional skeletal figure that was limp, but when worn could make a human do wondrous things. He decided that maybe he could work it into art. He tossed it into a shopping cart and started to walk away when he tripped over a bag of computer chips labeled “TRAIT CHIPS” he took them and some metal plates and went home. He let the skeleton sit untouched for three months before actually doing anything to it. He put pieces of pivoting and rotating metal on it, as a sort of suit he could wear. As he built and built, he put in more intricate pieces, like computers and processing units. Through this he put chips in for personality and got one he thought would be cool to be around and started to build more and more until turning it on. The suit worked and looked around expressing no emotions on the first three or four boots. It wasn’t until the fifth boot up that the robot started to remember anything, actually, and by then it was just a head still. Eventually he made it into a living suit, that could function without anyone inside. It was to be a servant at first, but the personality chips made it act too human to be a slave, and became a friend to him.

Extra: Duo with PM v1.1
Appearance:
Real Name: Plate model V1.1
Alias: Electro
Age: 4, shows no human age correlation
Gender: Robot (sounds male)
Human, Robot, Cyborg?: Robot
Abilities: The ability to open up all of his limbs and turn into a suit of mech armor for Justin seems to be important.
He runs on electricity and recharges by moving.
He does not have perfect aim as he only has a 2d camera giving him info on his surroundings, so he has no depth of field.
Basic extra stamina and strength, the strength is doubled when in suit form combined with Justin.
Weapon: Two Buster pistols, a carbine-like buster rifle (no scope, just an iron sight)
Personality: Barely human in the beginning, PM v1.1 was cold and logical. With the addition of new personality programs, he has managed to become almost human. He is currently an almost exact clone of Justin’s personality, with a little more drive. He also does not see himself as a hero, but he does feel as though he has a purpose for existing that needs to be found.
Short Bio: Originally a scrapped suit thrown away by Dr. Wiley’s team of scientists, it was not given any computing power or real body. It was just a skeleton when Justin Collins picked him up while rummaging through scrap to make a sculpture with. Along with the exoskeleton he found a big bag of microchips and a lot of steel plates of many sizes. He was loaded into a shopping cart and taken to a workshop, or so he’s told. He was officially “alive” when a small chip was implanted into a helmet along with several other chips full of data. He was immobile, just a hollow head on a skeletal body with the occasional metal plate that could rotate around the “bone.” as time went on, he gained the ability to learn and move stumps that stemmed from his shoulder. His head could tip back farther than any robot he had seen in this time, which was very few, and he wondered why until one day, when he had upper arms and thighs, he was “opened up” and his creator wore him like a suit. They worked well together, not sharing one mind, but somehow in sync with each other. Eventually his whole body was finished, all of it being made of movable metal plates while remaining hollow. He was not just a robotic suit, but a fully functioning bot, meant to be no more than just a helper and a friend of Justin. he didn't help as often as he thought he would, and served mostly as a friend. He longs to be a hero. (this is my I am a hero...)

THE LIGHT BRIGADE NPCs:
A skeptical, sometimes obnoxious fellow.
A loyal activist. Despite her overly feminine name she's a good fighter and has taken out a good number of bots in her day.
A collected man, he is quiet and only speaks when he is spoken to, unless his opinion needs to be heard.
A secretary for Dr. Wiley, Lydia is a great information source commonly used for finding out otherwise unattainable intel.
An outgoing character, he often talks about his girlfriend Alison and is the one who cracks the jokes.
Constantly seducing and or being seduced, she is also a good source of information. There are rumours about her saying that she was once a man, but no one can prove this.
A gentle Spanish girl, many people come to her when in need of a shoulder to cry on.
