[Innate Personality]
Caution and discretion are key to he and his Pokemon’s survival, but fear is a disease and cowardice is a moral failing. To him, breaking an oath is the height of dishonor, and attention to honesty extends to every word. A commitment made must be carried out. Ultimately, he takes responsibility for his actions and the consequences that follow. Typically enthusiastic about life, particularly success, and brooding about failure for only a short time before disappointment is shaped into a strong drive for improvement. While others may see he and his team as proud or even arrogant because of this dedication to excellence and high standards, he is still known by some as reserved; still having no qualms asking for what he needs or taking the time to improve himself. It is true that they are typically proud of their accomplishments. However, they are also more than willing to recognize with respect the accomplishments of others in turn, whether or not the being in question is an ally or an opponent. Trust is a major factor in his life and expects others to be just as open and forthcoming with him as he is. Part of the roots of the young Dragon Tamer’s honorable attitude lies within his drive for self-improvement, placing great value on the skill of each individual member of his team, including his own. Failing at a task is anathema to the Dragon Tamer and as a result can sometimes push himself and his Pokemon to unhealthy extremes of effort. This aspect of the Dragon Tamer’s mind means few of the Pokemon he trains take a laid back approach to any skill or ability, striving ever to become the masters of their particular set of skills and respect those among others that approach life in the same manner.
This passionate nature of the Dragon Tamer has persuaded others to believe him to become quite brutal or vengeful over the span of his journey and given to hasty choices that can be viewed as morally compromising. The Dragon Tamer's sense of worth can likewise lead to greed and egotistic selfishness, often fueled by the hopes and dreams of reaching his ultimate goal; retaining the scruples and values that define him, including respect and courtesy to opponents. The Dragon Tamer possesses a strong sense of independence and self-worth, but however does not view this as a need to break away from society as other individuals might, but rather to shape it for the better through he and his team’s own unique strengths and weaknesses. Likewise, he sees himself as responsible for those around him, the group ultimately reflecting on the individual. In this way the successes and failures of each member of his team are the failures and successes of the group they associate with, giving him a very collective sense of self while allowing the others of his group to retain their individuality. Ultimately, he holds himself accountable for his choice of allies and poor judgment is considered no excuse for failing to uphold the standards all Pokemon Trainers should hold themselves to.
[Outward Personality]
Given how obviously superior he seems compared to the others of his region; who all had either started their journey before or when he had, some level of megalomania, messianic complex and/or similar problems with attitude are known to occur, though varies greatly according to whom may be in his company.
