[Lost Cause]

Well, took me long enough to find my old OP for this.

But yeah, the gist of it is that it’s a fairly ordinary Slice Of Life story set at Hogwarts. Just because. Or rather because it’s perfectly possible to get some nice crazy shenanigans going there without massive apocalyptic duels and the like.

Anyway, it’s September 1st, 2013. The Hogwarts Express has puffed majestically out of King’s Cross Station, and is thundering north. On board, students new and old are preparing for the start of a new school year.

It was also hardly that exactingly rare in their family—one aunt, September's great grandmother, her niece...
A few weeks before attending school, September was asked to learn a few more rules—some to prevent her from trying to take advantage of her own abilities in a manner that the normal rules could never hope to cover, and a few more to make things easier on the staff.
†Personality: Enthusiastic, bright, always forgets to do homework or much of anything else. She makes up for it by good performance in classes... but she's still absolutely terrible at stuff that requires any sort of external dedication. Very determined to be 'the best', though that's about as undefined as you'd expect of someone her age. Not too good at making friends, and September feels rather... awkward about trying to, worrying that she just won't fit.
Not keen on the normal inter-house rivalries.

*Backstory: Roxy's mother was lucky to have given birth to Roxy after the climax of the Second Wizarding War, lest she'd be persecuted by the corrupted Ministry of Magic, though it that was the case, it would have been her first encounter with the Wizarding World. Roxy lived a normal life as a kid, up until a few days before her 11th birthday. She happened upon a friend of hers being picked on by some bullies. Without even knowing, she cast a spell that knocked one of the bullies down. Her display of power not only scared the bullies away, but also her friend. Devastated and scared of what she could do, she stayed in her room... At least for a few days before a teacher from Hogwarts came over with a letter in hand on her birthday. The teacher discussed with the parents about how Roxy was a Muggle Born capable of magic. The teacher's offer was simple: If Roxy went to Hogwarts, she might better control her magic. When he told Roxy this, she was a little unsure due to the whole "leaving for about a year to learn in a place far from her home" but complied when realizing that this might help her in realizing who she is in the terms of magic.
*Personality: Roxy has trouble coming to terms with her ability to use magic, reflecting an old stereotype of Muggle Born being less talented at magic. Despite this, she still wishes to learn so as to better control herself. She possesses a staggering sense of loyalty, a quality that instantly placed her into the Hufflepuff House despite her desire to learn about her magic being in line to Ravenclaw's core belief. Due to being far away from her home, she's quick to make friends, and although they might not value it the same way (or in the worst case, use it as a means to an end), Roxy will always value her friendship and protect it, even long after the friendship breaks apart.

**Her Wand is made from Ash wood and the core being of Unicorn tail hair. It's around ten inches and solid.
**A Barn Owl by the name of Belle, named after the friend she stood up for and inadvertently discovered her magic.

" Speaking as someone with AS, I am calling time on that right now. And this is before I get into the whole "part dragon" thing.

Somehow I keep hearing that (That people have AS), but somehow, I keep doubting that internet experts have read the international journal of medicine. I don't mean this as an insult btw. Anyways, this can take many forms and has several degrees of severity. What I was thinking of in this particular situation was of course mild (As more extreme versions would make a character unplayable on a social setting.) So, while on one side said character has trouble looking at people in the eyes and sometimes even just responding when she is in the spotlight, it is something that can be overcome, given time, and it gives her the ability to calculate pie to the x digit in her head. Still, this genius is methematic and related to logic, not to creativity.

As for dragon blood it's a prestige thing. Who knows, this could be they have troll blood or Giant blood but pretend (Or don't even know otherwise), that it's dragon blood. It may just be a genetic deflect from having married too much cousins, at this day and age I'd expect every single other character to doubt about the truth of this legend and everyone that has knowledge about dragons would say that it's psychologically impossible for dragons to have feelings for humans, that Russian dragons, if they ever existed, are instinct since at least the middle ages and that it's not physically possible to bare the child of a dragon. I made a character that is not a sue, but is presured into being one, but failing at it.

Ultimately:
She's intelligent, but fails to achieve things that are out of the purely academic matters.
She's expected to be a leader but hates the spotlight
She's expected to live up to the legacy of having 'Dragon blood', but even she doubts about the veracity of this while I'd expect much of the school to actually laugh at this notion.
And of course, she's pure blood but has to live with the genetic bagage of such a thing, which is even worst than others.

If you wish I'll change the character (Or I dunno, leave if I don't find any idea quickly), but, I don't think this character is so non-sensistical or eyeroll worthy as you make it to be.

It... does not work like that. Not at all. I know this, because 1) I tend to obsessively research mental conditions whenever I encounter a new one, and 2) it was written on about half a dozen of my school records. :|

I'd honestly ask for sources, and from my experience schools tend to add ridiculous amount of things to your records, I know, apparently I have it too, but I doubt that.

I hope you don't mind if I do take it as an insult that something that was professionally diagnosed and that I was bullied for for over ten years is apparently just something I came up with based on a bit of internet reading.

But yeah, the concept of "Dragon Blood" on its own violates canon on so many levels it isn't even funny, and that's before we get into the idea that there is conveniently a humanoid dragon in the upper reaches of her family tree.

Kendall grew up with her single mother in LA, California. She has attended a normal, muggle school since she was five years old, and moved to England when she was 9, so she has a lot to adjust to when she goes to Hogwarts. Her father died before she was born, so she has never met him, but she has a picture of him that she carries around with her everywhere she goes. When she got the Hogwarts letter, of course her mom flipped out, but Kendall wasn't as surprised. Lately, weird things have been going on with her, and overall she felt different. There isn't much to really tell about her family, mostly because her mother isn't poor or rich, she doesn't have any other siblings, and she has never had a pet. Kendall's life is fairly structured.

•Personality:
Always loud and outgoing, Kendall doesn't have any trouble with making friends. She loves dancing and playing around, but when the time comes to sit still and do any sort of work it is always a struggle. She has a hard time paying attention, but once she is focused she can be a really great student. Most people see her as obnoxious and selfish, but she doesn't see anything wrong with that. She has a lot of confidence that most kids her age don't really have. She is one hundred percent sure that she will make the whole "wizard" thing work, even if it may not turn out the way she plans.

Alex was born to a relatively normal Muggle family in the Midlands and lived a satisfying, if slightly boring primary school life. He never had any particular motivation for anything and found pleasure in the simple things; playing Knockdown Ginger, stealing his Dad's whiskey and mocking kids who still watched Teletubbies. The only thing he ever really applied himself to as a child was raising the family pets; animals have always held a special place in his heart. Alex wouldn't have much else to say on his own life; the way he sees things, it only really started when he received a mysterious letter inviting him to a certain school...

•Personality:
Alex is a born idiot and he knows it. During Muggle primary school he consistently failed every class, never scoring above a U. Nevertheless he was popular among the staff and other students as a friendly, upbeat little rascal who could be exceptionally polite when he wanted to, as likely to flip your skirt as hold the door open for you. Despite this fickle streak, Alex is a reliable and trustworthy young lad who sticks by his friends no matter what. The downside is that those friends need to learn to deal with constant teasing and childish pranks, but he is slowly growing out of that habit... slowly. Despite his sometimes blatant idiocy, Alex is quite an empathic young soul, skilled at managing people and relationships. His carefully crafted carefree attitude has given him a certain wisdom beyond his age.

I guess I should have expected for you to take it too personally. Well, not like I care, it's the internet after all. I realize that by saying this you'll probably be further insulted, but considering we don't seem to have a good chemistry you and I, I know I'm pretty much out of here anyways. Just so you know, you weren't the only one who had problems with who you were when you were a kid.

Still, I would just like to point out that Hagrid in the cannon has giant blood and this is told to give him some amount of spell resistance, so the concept isn't flawed in itself, magic resistance is a thing. As for dragon blood, of course the concept is ridiculous, outlandish, impossible even. That actually is the point. I am not saying it is the truth, in fact, I'll say it right now, the truth is probably much less glamorous than that and everyone can guess it is a big lie, but it would still be a family value, heirloom, legend. I won't go further into detail since your idea is already set in stone and since you dislike me due to my earlier faux pas I know you won't change your mind.
