With Sarah's arms around his body, Simon smiled even more than before and returned the gesture, both of his heads wrapping around her as he listened to her words. He knew that he was helping her though her sister's death, and he hoped that the road to recovery would be a short one. When facing a loss, people act differently. Some of them act more outgoing to escape the feeling, others dwell on the feeling of loss, and some even go crazy because of it. He had to know these kinds of things when it comes to making unique and different characters, so he felt that it was helping at this time that he knew of that.

She exhaled deeply, slowly pulling away and meeting eyes with him. She paused for a moment, before getting up. "I'm going to make food. What do you want to want to eat? Tell me about one of your story ideas while I cook."
((Sorry it's short, I'm up to my ears in things I need to be doing right now.))

Simon kept his eyes on her as she left the bed, and he continued to think about what he should have to eat. He had lost track of time, so he wasn't sure late it was. He sat up slowly and thought about it. "I'm fine with anything, but something simple please." He then smiled at her as he left the bed and took a step towards the door. "I'd be happy to share some ideas with you, Sarah." He was glad that she offered to hear his ideas, since it would take their minds off of the current events. With him telling her ideas for stories, and her cooking something, they'd both be occupied, and momentarily happy.

Sarah started pulling out ingredients for spaghetti, listening to him happily while she cooked. It took her mind off things, until she reached into the fridge and accidentally grabbed the bottle of juice that her sister had written her name on. Her hand shook slightly as she put it back, and she took a deep breath. She continued cooking, though some of her vigor was lost. While she was distracted listening to Simon, she burned her hand on the stove. "Ah, shit!" She cursed, pulling the spaghetti off the stove so it wouldn't burn and running her hand under cold water.

As the two reached the kitchen, Simon found a place out of that way to stay at while he talked about his numerous ideas. Many of them were lighthearted and simple, as he wanted to stay away from darker and more realistic tones for the time being. He watched Sarah as he went on, and continued, despite seeing her stop for a moment to put something back and take a deep breath. He didn't want to stop, and if he did, he felt that it would only bring more attention to the item that she recently had. He barely noticed that she had lost a little... Kick, in her cooking, as well. He wasn't focusing entirely on her when she had burned her hand, and only reacted when she had cursed aloud and ceased cooking. He quickly went to her side to help her, but stopped as he realized that he couldn't really do anything since the burn didn't seem to go through any layers of skin, He didn't want to ask the obvious question of "Are you alright?" since he already assumed what the answer would be. He looked at her calmly and glanced at her hand. "Would you like me to continue cooking? It might get annoying with a burn."

Sarah gave him a teary look, desolation on her face as she fell to the floor. She sat, trying very hard not to cry again. "I can't even cook without messing up, Simon." Distress poured out of every syllable, while she started to cry. She was mad at herself, for crying, at her sister, for dying. She paused for a moment, realizing that the only person she wasn't mad at was Simon.

Simon. He had been so kind to her, helped her, loved her. All he has ever been is kind, helpful, and loving. Her mood was lifted just thinking about him. She loved him. And she kissed him. Sarah reached up, pressing her lips to his without hesitation.

Simon followed Sarah to the ground as she fell to the floor. He had already used calming words to soothe her, and that would only work so many times, so he was simply going to calm her down with his presence. His arms wrapped around her slowly and hesitantly as he moved himself closer to her. He loved her, and he would walk to the ends of the earth to keep her happy. Some time passed, and it seemed that she was calming down a little but he wasn't so sure. He slowly let go of her and began to stand back up, but he was pulled down when she had unexpectedly kissed him. He didn't pull away, but he didn't push into the kiss either. Slowly, he pulled back from her with a small smile and kissed her back to return the emotions that she had for him. He lacked any hesitation like she did, and it was obvious that they wanted for this to happen, and didn't want for the other to leave.

Sarah smiled against his lips when he kissed her back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her emotions swirled around in her head, and the most dominant was love. The other was fear. Her father and her sister had died, and she was scared to death of losing someone else she loved. She didn't know how she would cope, if she lost Simon or her mother. Funny thing was, her birthday was in a week. And she was likely going to spend it mourning. Either way, that was unimportant. What was important was Simon's lips against hers, and the feelings kissing him gave her. She eagerly kissed him back, making a small noise as she pressed herself closer to him.

As the kissing continued, Simon's mind focused solely on Sarah. Previously, Sarah was at his top priority at the moment, but now she was all he could think about, and how they were kissing one another. He could feel her body moving closer to his own, and in return roped his arms around her to keep her as close as she was. He believed that she was in a fragile state right now, with dealing with the death of her sister. He wasn't really sure about how to help her in this situation, but if the two of them kissing helped her take her mind off of things and help her through it, then he would gladly oblige.

Sarah pulled away after a moment, pressing her forehead against his and smiling. "I love you." She whispered, giggling softly. She brought her hands down and entwined her fingers with his, closing her eyes. "I love you so much. You do so much for me. I don't deserve any of it, but you're so kind."

Simon could feel Sarah pulling away from him after a moment, and didn't object to her. He smiled back at her when she pressed her forehead against his, his own smile widening as she whispered to him. He glanced down to their joined hands and looked back up at her. "I love you too, Sarah, and I'll always be there for you when you need me." He looked down at the ground and exhaled slightly. "You do deserve everything I do for you, as well as the kindness that I give you."

Sarah looked down, face unreadable. "I was told for two years that I was nothing. That I deserved nothing, especially not him. It's all I can believe at this point. He... He did things. Said things, the most awful things. He convinced me to do things. Other things... He got impatient and wouldn't wait for me to agree. He'd always apologize afterwards, and I kept forgiving him. I always forgave him for such horrible things."

As Simon listened to Sarah, he sighed as he finished up and looked back up at her. He used his free hand to raise her head to look at him. His gaze at her was calm and relaxed, but he was being completely serious. He knew who she was talking about, and he decided to leave the person nameless for the time being. "Sarah. For now on, I want you to promise me that you won't think of yourself as nothing. To me, you're everything, and I don't know what I'd do without you. I won't push you into anything that you won't want to do, and I promise to you that I'll protect you."

Sarah started shaking her head, getting hysterical. "No, no, you don't understand. He- he raped me, Simon." She continued to shake her head, voice cracking as she laughed darkly. "I-I'm damaged goods. Broken before I even arrived in the mail. I should be sent back as a defect. I know you won't hurt me, I trust you more than that. But even if you tried, there's really not much left to hurt."

Simon was at a loss for words. He had no idea what to say about hearing that she had been raped. He could only sit there with wide eyes as he tried to figure out what to say to her. How could me make this situation any better? If she was more broken then he had ever imagined, then the road to recovery would be much longer than he could have seen. "We... We should get back to cooking, Sarah. Come on." He slowly started to stand, but kept his eyes on her as he did so.

Sarah nodded, getting up slowly. She felt slightly numb, and decided that for now blocking out her emotions was the best decision. She turned the stove back on, putting the spaghetti and sauce on it and slowly stirring the sauce. She pulled out a can of corn, putting that on as well. It was only when the food was done cooking did she realize she made four servings. One for her, one for Simon, one for her mother, one for- nobody. Nobody was getting the last serving. She'd eat it herself.
Sarah served the food, giving Simon one serving, herself twice as much. She left some in the pot for her mother when she returned. Sarah pulled out silverware, cups, water, and juice, as well as pulling out a chair for Simon. She sat down in one herself, getting started on the plateful of food in silence.

With Simon fully raised off of the ground, he moved back to his original spot from before Sarah dropped. He didn't talk this time, and instead stood in silence as Sarah continued to cook. It's wasn't a comfortable silence for him, as he wanted to talk or do something to ease the tension, but nothing he thought about would seemed to do what he planned, so he simply kept quiet. He hadn't realized it when she was cooking, but only after when he saw that she had made a bit much for the two of them. Her mom might have some when she came back, but even for three people it still seemed like much. He assumed that she had done it by accident, and didn't think about having to make less due to the fact that Mariah wouldn't be eating with them, but he didn't want to say anything about it.

Simon took his own plateful as well as some water before sitting down at the chair that Sarah pulled out for him. He nodded in thanks to her and began to eat in the silence. During his meal, he would occasionally cast a glance at Sarah with a look of worry etched onto his face. He still didn't say anything, and just continued to eat.
