Six months after the Battle of Endor, the New Republic has invaded the Imperial industrial world of Exaron, following up on a promise made by Major Patrick Rudder to bring forces back to free the planet. Major Rudder had come to Exaron to retrieve vital intelligence from a Bothan spy, but an ambush forced him to work with a local dissident cell to secure the intelligence and make it off-world. The intelligence was information on a top-secret Imperial Intelligence operation named Operation Vibrowire, a plan to assassinate Rebel High Command all at once; with Rudder escaping with the intelligence, Operation Vibrowire was stopped and dozens of Imperial Intelligence operatives were killed. In response to this failure, the Imperial leadership on Exaron was thoroughly purged through arrests, transfers, and even executions.
War now rages across Exaron, with the New Republic having secured half of the major cities while the Empire controls the other half. Yet, in the background, the Empire is putting in motion a shadowy plan which could change not only the course of the war on Exaron, but the war across the galaxy as well...
