Name: Gateway to the Genesis of Technology
Gender: Female
Appearance: Behold!Personality: Gate is... very, very overenthusiastic. Nothing deserves to be done quietly, at low speed, or with much forethought: full steam ahead and power through! She doesn't really have much room in her head for any sort of malice with that energy and knowledge taking up most of the space. So everyone gets to be her friend! If they can keep up. She babbles a lot.
Abilities:Technowizardry--Steam and Clock Edition: Gate can build things that either function in advance of modern technology, or achieve the same thing through different means. For small-scale stuff, it simply works by winding up clockwork. Large scale? Well... she thinks locomotives are pretty shoddy even at best, and the internal combustion engine is just a loser's substitute for what you could
really do with a steam engine if you put your mind to it. She still needs the raw materials to actually build any of these things, though, and since she basically makes everything out of metal and glass...
Just
don't ask her what weird chemicals are involved in making the things work once they're turned on.
She's exceptionally gifted at using or repairing compatible technology, and using anything mechanical in general. Just... don't ask her to touch electronics.
Enhanced Chassis: Her arm isn't the only thing about Gate that's mechanical, it's just the obvious. This is the reason why she's both faster than is normal even for a Doll, and tougher. However, it also makes her heal a
lot worse. And she generally functions as a lightning rod.
Technological Impossibility--Armament Reconfiguration: Gate's arm? It can change shape. It can turn into an outright cannon, a gatling gun, or a chainsaw, all using steam rather than their normal propellents/power sources, and keeping the same sort of aesthetic. It is, however, blatantly impossible for the mechanical shifting it does to actually
result in the working shapes, so anyone examining her arm too closely will probably find their brain hurting.
The Truth of All Things: Under the eyepatch, there's another eye. This one doesn't see the world... well, normally. It sees through
everything to its innermost workings. Walls are translucent mirages above piping and wiring. Flesh can be seen through to the organs beneath. Not, as a whole, an ability that sees much use except when building or fixing stuff, but it does carry the handy property of being impossible to fool with illusions. The sole thing it cannot see through is the eyepatch covering it (if she needs to use this eye, Gate tends to just swap which one is covered--seeing through things all the time isn't helpful).
Weapons: Look above.
Misc: If you value whatever it's attached to, don't make her use something with any electrical components.
