The Iron Tree Guild Hall. A three story building with a main area that resembles a tavern, an upper area with a banister that overlooks the first floor, and a cellar down below. Up on the upper floor is the Guild Master's office, and some other rooms such as bedrooms that guild members can use if they ever are in need of a place to stay. Five bedrooms in total, each with two beds. The first floor has three more bedrooms in the back, two of which are being used as storage so nobody has to go up and down the stairs to get the most common items they have to restock the bar with.

(If you have seen Fairy Tail... it's the first Fairy Tail Guild Hall. No we will not call the guild Fairy Tail. Deal with it!)

Heloise was weary from travel. She led her horse, a black stallion, through the streets of Sersia. She had been traveling for a few years now, and upon reaching Sersia, she had found a notice for the guild Iron Tree. Heloise had been thinking of joining a guild, and thought this one was perfect for her.

So, she was heading there now, her pack on the back of her horse, the reins in her hands. Her bow and quiver were slung over her shoulder, and she had a range of daggers and knives on the belt of her pants. Finally, she approached the guild building, marveling at it. She tied her horse, who she had named Gallant, outside, giving him an apple to satisfy him. He would be fine, the horse could look after himself.

She stepped inside the guild building, into what she assumed was the common area. She looked about, unsure what to do now. Was there a master? Someone who could help her join?

"Hello?"

Solan paced back and forth just outside the entrance to Sersia. This would be the first human town she’d ever set foot and, and to be quite frank, she was nervous. Looking down, she realized a few feathers had fallen off, and stopped herself, knowing there wasn’t any reason to worry. She looked to her companion for comfort.
“I mean, it’s not like their ready to tie to a stake a burn me, right? I mean people now are more accepting, I met plenty of people on my way here, and they treated me like their own!”

Arden, her griffin, had simply rolled his eyes, having been ready to go inside the town for about ten minutes now. Solan took this as an agreement, and with a nod, she turned and marched into Sersia.

“This is it, Arden! New opportunities are waiting for us! New friends to make and adventures to go on! Now then,” Solan stopped, looking around for the guild, “If only I knew how to get there.”

After asking for directions, Solan followed them precisely and arrived at her destination. Once she spotted the hall, the Valkyrie was filled to the brim with excitement. It will be here she’ll prove herself worthy of joining such a guild. They just had to accept her, she had so much potential! Solan quickly ran inside, making a rather big entrance.

The day was too hot for Alaric, he despised summer and its heat. It frequently made his clothes stick and his armor chafe, so he found shelter under a great walnut tree in the yard of some tavern in Sersia, he had come in by boat the night prior from the Savage Islands home to cannibals and many tribes. He was now in search of more work, reading the leaflet of the Iron Tree Guild, he found a prospect for profit although their moral gibberish made him cringe.

He stared at their guild hall examining it carefully as he ate some fruit to help him cool off. His worn armor was strewn about around him along with the padding exposing a plain dark blue shirt and grey pants that sank into tall sturdy soldiers boots. His Falchion hung from his waist on a black leather belt decorated with silver forming thorny vines all around its surface to end in a gleaming silver Rose buckle.

"so..this is it?" He thought to himself in no particular hurry to go anywhere

Heloise spun about as a somewhat enthusiastic girl burst inside the building, shouting "Iron tree! Sign me up!"

Heloise quickly moved out of the way, not wanting to get balled over. Where these the type of members that Iron Tree had? She shifted, feeling foolish, but smiled and went over to the girl. "Hi. You are obviously looking to join this guild too" She said it brightly, happily. Heloise was a happy person, and tried to make an effort. "I'm Heloise"

She held out a hand to the girl, as she brushed her hair back from her face with her free hand. She hadn't put it up today like she normally did. Her cat like eyes shone with excitement, because she was indeed looking forward to joining this guild and the adventures it would hold.

“Oh good! I’m kinda glad it’s not just my first day here,” Solan laughed, “Yes, greetings! I’m Solan, it’s very nice to meet you, Heloise!” She was thankful people around here were kind, and she felt more at ease.

The girl looked like that of a human, but it appeared from her eyes she was perhaps of elven lineage. Based off the bow she carried, she must be an archer. Solan hoped they would be good friends later on.

Solan eyed the gestured made by the girl, and figured it was a sort of greeting. She mimicked her, although not doing so correctly by not making contact. It was her first day, she’ll hopefully grasp customs sooner or later.

Heloise had already figured that Solan wasn't use to normal human customs. She smiled, "Its called a handshake" She said kindly, taking Solan's hand in hers, and giving it a shake, "A way of saying hello and greeting someone you have just met. Its polite or something. I personally prefer a hug, but some people find that awkward when you've just met" She laughed

She broke the handshake, looking around the guild common room, "I don't know if someone will great us, or what" She said, "I just got here when you came in. Should we approach the bar? I'm sure someone will see us there sooner or later"

She waited for a reply, deciding she didn't want to go off on her on in the guild searching.

Alaric stood and watched the interaction raising a brow, the feathered girl peeked his interest as he straightened and stretched out a bit before starting to gather up his armor pieces. Once he had them in a row on a pole he approached the guild hall hissing a bit as he stepped into the blazing sun shielding his eyes, his armor threw bright blinding reflections all over the place bobbing up and down as he walked.

He approached the couple and looked down at them as he stood nearly six feet tall "it has been years since I have last seen your kind anywhere, Valkyrie" His grey eyes scanned her top to bottom curiously, stopping at her wings "and never this up close, the last one tried to kill me. Nearly succeeded as well"

Atheena approached the guild halls entrance with enthusiasm, glancing down at White-Fang to see if he was excited as well. She ran her fingers lightly over the small beads embroidered into her ice blue dress before taking a deep breath and walking inside. She took in the details of the town hall, scanning her eyes around the room in amazement before stopping at the group of others talking.

"Shall we go make friends?" She whispered, leaning down and scratching the dogs head before standing back up and smiling. She ran a hand through her wild, white hair in an attempt to tame it down a bit so that she was presentable.

Once she felt her hair was suitable, she sauntered over to the others, White-fang following by her side.

"Hello darlings." She said, smiling sweetly at the group. From what could she could tell by looking them over, they seemed like nice people and she really hoped that she could get along with each and everyone one of the members here.

Leonin aren't unheard of outside of Ishhae, but they are rare. Swift drew gazes as he marched through the city's streets. He looked like a cat with a purpose, but it was a ruse. In truth, he had no idea how to navigate civilized streets, and was walking more or less at random, looking for the emblem that had been on the scrap of paper that had brought him here.

His spear was tucked into the back of his loose garment, and his club was hanging at his right hand. Ka was somewhere, probably hunting, but she would come if Swift called.

For now, he decided to enlist the help of the city's local birds. He pulled his flute from where it was tucked into his shawl and tooted a little tune that sounded identical to birdsong. He played again, and after a moment a few pigeons started landing nearby, tweeting and cooing at him. He put the flyer he had on the ground and pointed at the symbol, tweeting a question, asking if they'd seen this sign.

Their responses made no sense. They used sounds and calls that Swift knew, but they ordered them strangely and they hopped around as they spoke. He tried asking again, and as he played his bird flute, something shining clinked down onto the ground in front of him. He reached down and saw that it was a small circle of copper, with a face cast onto it. Soon a few others followed, all thrown by people passing in the street. Unsure of this custom, Swift picked up the coins, and put them in a fold of his shawl. He put the flute to his mouth again, this time asking the birds to show him where the symbol was.

At once, they all kicked off of the ground and flew down the street. Swift followed suit, sprinting after them, dodging people carts and the occasional horse. All of the birds landed on to the roof of a building that stood at the end of the road he ran. Sure enough, the building had a banner emblazoned with the tree symbol. Swift strode forward, unsure for a moment, but opened the doors and walked in.

"Hello? This is the tree of iron?"

Rose sat with her legs crossed and her sword sheathed at a table, not too far from the entrance of the Iron Tree Guild Hall. She was eating an apple with an intimidating look on her face. Although it appeared she was a member of Iron Tree, this was actually her first day there. The Guild Hall was crowded with people, and she felt eyes upon her, they knew this was her first time here. She wanted to appear tough, and hardened compared to the rest of them. She didn't think she was better, in fact, she was kind of nervous, and merely put on this persona because she was terribly shy. It was too late to change her mind though, if she began to introduce herself now after sitting here for so long, it would come off as odd, she was definitely not about to embarrass herself. And so she sat, legs crossed, intimidating look, eating an apple.

She noticed a girl with long, brown hair and what appeared to be elven like features walk into the Hall, looking about. She appeared to be new, and that was confirmed when she uttered "Hello," Rose almost instinctively got up to greet her, it was a relief knowing another newcomer was here, but she couldn't break her current intimidating persona, the newest member running up to another new member because she was too shy to talk to everyone else. She would look weak, and so she sat, regretting the circumstance she was in.

To her dismay, other newcomers began to pour into the Guild Hall, first an elf/human like warrior, then a small, petite girl who oddly had wings, she had never seen anything of the like, even what appeared to be a giant cat walked in, asking if this was Iron Tree, or, "The tree of iron?" as he called it. They were all greeting eachother! She felt her intimidating posture fade away,"Dammit," She cursed to herself, feeling beyond stupid. "If only I took an extra ten minutes to get ready, I could be with them!" She said to herself. Realizing she was talking to herself, Rose slowly looked to her right, and to her dismay, a member of Iron Tree had been watching from a table right next to hers, some big guy with a bald head and clothes that didn't fit. He began to laugh at Rose, "What are you talking to yourself for, lady?" he said whilst laughing.

Rose was furious, these people were going to think of her as some clown, she refused to let that happen, she refused to be embarrassed her first day here! Rose jumped from her seat, "HOW DARE YOU MOCK ME!" she shouted, pointing at the man, she then grabbed the chair she had been sitting on, spun around and threw it into the mans face, causing it to break into pieces and knocking him to the floor. Rose stood still, keeping her angry posture.

It had been a while since the Yumi had first left the guild to get supplies. Discussion about the foreign creature was a bit rampant at the time. People in the town seemed to make strange comments about her until now. The comments were about anything, from the height, the ears, the unique skin color, and the smell, There were very few that had actively analyzed the girl for more then her race the first time she came back One of which was the leader who sent her on a quest to get some things just to see if she could actually complete a task given to her. Two swordsman stood by hearing the discussion and had made a bet. Now that time had past the burly orc , "Looks like you're going to lose another bet," the wood elf with strangely crimson hair leaned against the wall, "Maybe you're right, but I have a feeling that not all who wonder are lost." The young man would say lighting a cigar with a bit of well controlled magic After a quick puff from the elf the orc would pat him on the back you accidentally using too much strength and knocking the cigar out of his mouth as the smoke bellowed out of his mouth coughing.

Suddenly the girl would come across with a armful of things. Holding a wide variety of tulips daises and roses. Shed talk to the person who gave her the quest as she entered, "I didn't remember what kind, so i got one of everything," There was a sheer look of irritation on the women's face as she tried to calm her rage, "I guess this will do since i didn't actually specify.... but i meant baking flour." Suddenly she'd mope away at her incompetence as the women told the master that she needed to be supervised if she was going to do anything strong magic or not; Meanwhile the elf would laugh outside as he listened in, "Still counts."

She was about to walk out as a leonin entered the door. She seemed to hit her forehead till eventually she remembered saying, "Yes yes it is." A quick grin would appear on her face as she would try to stroke the cat mans mane with her hand.

The Valkyrie watched closely as to how this handshake action worked, and was correct with it being a greeting. “I believe we may have to look for the master. Although I’m not quite sure what they look like,” She responded, taking several steps so she could get a better look around. Solan looked around with great interest. The inside was that of a tavern, not really what she expected the hall to look like, but it wasn’t like she was disappointed. The vibe to the hall was nice and welcoming. There were a few members around but she was curious why no one wanted to greet them or anything.

Suddenly a rather intimidating man who carried his armor approached them. She wasn’t sure if he were a member, but Solan could feel his staring. She felt a bit self-conscious, and folded her wings a bit tighter across her back. “Yes, we tend to not leave home as often,” she said with a small laugh, “And apologizes on behalf of the previous Valkyrie you met, I promise not to do the same.” Solan suddenly remembered the new greeting she had just learned, and reached for the man’s hand and attempted to shake it, much like Heloise had did.

Arden, who had been on the floor quietly, was immediately clambering onto her shoulder, emitting a hiss from his beak much like his feline half would. Solan looked back at the entrance and noticed a girl with similar white hair approach them. By her side was a rather large canine that was the reason for her griffin’s distress. She rolled her eyes at her companion, remembering the much larger bear he was trying to take on their journey here. She greeted the girl, and apologized once more, this time for the behavior for her creature.

Several more people entered the hall, some, like her, appeared new and looked to join. She definitely wasn’t alone today and she was eager to join right away. Then, there was an outburst close by. A girl with red hair shouted accusingly at a man before picking up the chair she was sitting on and threw it at his face.

Solan wasn’t as concerned for the man as she should have been but leaned towards Heloise, “Is…is that another greeting?” She asked, eying a chair and was ready to do the same.

Heloise knew of Valkyrie's, but she had never seen one before, which was probably wy she hadn't connected this girl to them. Yes, the girl had wings, but that wasn't so strange, in this world. She watched the conversation, and the reaction of Soian's pet companion.

She glanced around, noting that it appeared that there were going to be several new members to the guild, if they were all successful. Apparently, advertising worked. She wondered how this would work, having never been in a guild before. She hoped she could be accepted, and that she would have somewhere to house Gallant. She had some money, but knew she would need to work to get more, to support herself.

She looked over at the outburst, theb back to Soian when she asked if it was another type of greeting, "Oh, no, no, that's....that's something done in anger!" She said quickly, "Don't be going throwing chairs around!" She grinned, shook her head. "Right. Master." She started to look for who could be master, but had no idea

Swift wasn't quite sure how to react. Having one's mane stroked felt good, much like when he was a cub and his mother would clean his fur. But it was also a bizarrely intimate thing for a stranger, of another species no less, to be doing.
"Thank you," he said in the end, "But please..."

CRASH

Swift turned toward the commotion with the rest of the hall, in time to see wooden splinters flying everywhere. The man who had been struck fell to the floor. He soon got up and advanced angrily on a girl nearby. Swift rushed forward, and stood between them, facing the man. Instead of saying something rational and trying to get to the bottom of the situation, he simply roared into the man's face.

"It's fine, dear." She replied, keeping the sweet smile plastered on her lips as She eyed the griffin curiously. It was rather cute and she'd like to stay and look at it some more but since her companion was causing it some discomfort she decided she and White-Fang should go and look around the guild hall some more until it calmed down.

There was a loud noise that caused White-Fang to spring to his feet in surprise. She turned and followed his gaze to a man lying on the ground surrounded by bits of a shattered chair and a red headed girl that seemed to be a bit angry. Atheena wondered what could cause someone to get angry enough to throw a chair at someone but she decided it was best that she didn't say anything. Instead, she smiled light before walking away to explore the guild hall. "C'mon boy." She commanded, snapping her fingers before turning and sauntering away.

As the man came to his feet and made his way towards Rose, she refused to back down, and would face him head on. She was new though, and had never faced a man as big, possibly experienced, as the one in front of her. But she picked a fight, and was going to live up to it.

Rose clenched her fists, preparing for what the large man was going to do next, when suddenly the giant cat she had seen before jumped without fear to her defense, roaring with prowess into the mans face. She was taken aback, was this cat not a newcomer as well? Why would it be so quick to defend her? If the cat got hurt, she would never forgive herself. Luckily, the man was too confused by not only the cats appearance but actions as well, deciding it would be a waste of time to deal with these newbies. "Hmph." he muttered, and began walking away.

Rose was relieved the man left. Filled with confusion at the cat's actions and angry she caused them, Rose asked the animal, curiously, "Why would you put yourself in that position for me?" she then stomped her foot, angry and scared for the animal as a mother would be at her child, "You could've hurt yourself!" Even so, Rose couldn't help but feel appreciative of the kindness the newcomer showed to her. "But...Thank you,"

"The thin-maned man didn't frighten me," he answered simply, "Pridemates should not fight. This 'guild' is supposed to be a pride, yes?"
He was a little concerned that he might have overstepped his boundaries, but nobody chided or challenged him. As far as he was concerned, he had come out on top.
"Why did you quarrel?"

"Pridemates should not fight,"

As the words left the animals mouth Rose couldn't help but feel a wave of guilt. This kind being was just as much family as the man she just struck with a chair. "Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!" She thought to herself, trying so hard not to be embarrassed caused the pain of one man and potentially another. Rose focused on herself, thus others were hurt. She had learned her very first lesson; put others first.

"He mocked me!" Rose protested, "As if i'm some tiny weakling to be pushed around, so I guess... I guess I wanted to prove him and everyone wrong, but... I don't know, I guess I may have overreacted a bit. I guess. I think i'm just in a bad mood." She crossed her arms, looking to the floor. In reality she was nervous, really nervous, but she wouldn't dare reveal that to anyone.

Rose looked up, locking eyes with the animal, "But, thank you for doing what you did. I appreciate it dearly," At that moment she realized this was the first time she encountered an animal such as this one, and was suddenly filled with curiosity. "You don't look like you're from around here, what's your name?"

Off to the side but still directly between Swift and Rose sat a very, very small man. His hair was white and only on the sides of his head, leaving the middle mostly bald. His eyes seemed closed, but he was clearly active and awake as he sat on the table next to them and sipped at his tea. He listened to them talk, before opening his eyes and watching them curiously. What better way to investigate newcomers than to watch their actions when they didn't know the master was immediately present? Finally he spoke, giving away his position.

"There are a few differences between this guild and a pride young cub. In a pride there is one leader, and any who oppose him are stricken down. In this guild however, I am the leader, and I wish for nothing more than to see all of you grow into power that can match my own, if not go beyond it. You cannot go far without the help of others however. and that's where the guild comes in. He is right though, with a simple change of words. Guildmates should not quarrel. For someday, you may require their assistance, and they may not be so quick to help one who was so easily thrown into rage by a simple question." He sipped at his tea again before setting it aside and standing up. The room went quiet, at least for all of the former members of Iron Tree. They looked to the short man standing on the table who looked out across the room at all the newcomers.

"So you've all come to join the guild have you? Well let me be the first member to welcome you to Iron Tree! My name is Makarov I'll be your guild master for the evening hi how do you do?" He grinned as he crossed his arms behind his back, watching everyone.
