Emily groaned, and laughed with Bonnie. "I'd hate to waste an hour of the day texting! I hope there are some girls brave enough to step up and join in." Emily glanced at Bonnies figure as she mentioned her weight. It was really impossible to tell what kind of figure Bonnie had under the huge sweater, the girl was almost drowning in it. "Well, weight doesn't really matter in PE, its more about getting involved, right? So it sounds like you're doing better than half the twig's here. And if I could borrow a pair of your shorts that would be so amazing! Thank you so much! It's bad enough being the new girl without being the only one in PE in a skirt as well, I can imagine teachers don't appreciate that.."

Emily glanced at the knee length skirt Bonnie was wearing, it looked much more comfortable than her skimpy thing. "Are you sure you wouldn't mind doing all that work on an extra skirt? I could pay you for it.." Emily broke out into a smile, "That'd be so great Bonnie, I've been embarrassed all day about this skirt. Would you need to get my measurements or something? I'm not much of a sewer but I'll help you however I can. Maybe you could come over after school tomorrow or something?" Emily caught herself, realising she was rushing. She took a breath, "Well hey, I'll give you my number if you like, then you can let me know what works best for you.".

Bonnie blushed at the idea of anyone coming to her house. Her mother would be drunk, passed out in the living room like usual. It was beyond embarrassing. She never had anyone home because of it. It was probably why she did not have a social life, either. She bit down on her lower lip and then glanced down at the floor. She couldn't take back her offer now and besides, she really wanted Emily to be her friend.

"I don't mind doing it for you, Emily. You've just meet me and you've been really kind. There is not much of that going around at this place." She glanced back up at the other. "I will need your measurements. You can come home with me, but you do not need to pay me for it."

"There's just one thing... After you meet my mother, please promise me you will continue to be nice to me." She wanted to ask Emily to promise to stay her friend, but that would be rushing things, wouldn't it? They were on friendly terms, but how long before being on friendly terms turned into true friendship?

"Let's just say the only good thing my mom has ever done for me was make me apply to come here in one of her rare sober moments." Bonnie's face fell and she was getting that feeling she had whenever she wanted to cry, but she couldn't do it in front of someone she had just meet; not where other people could see her.
