I still don't get why you're assuming that I was heading down. Argent was heading upwards in the first place.

Honestly? Because I want to get you guys together and if you were heading further up while also moving against the grain and in an area not overrun by cultists that would put you a few kilometers distant from the rest of the group and at first I figured I would have to work a few groups to get everyone together, Crayt's and Muse's posts allowed me to find a location that put them all within 1 kilometer and I did not want you to just be kind of meandering around on the other side of the hive working you towards everyone else while they enjoyed an action filled escape as khornate cultists fought against arbites and imperial guardsmen all around them as they fought desperately to escape collapsing buildings, gunship strafing runs, and fought battles against droves of enemies of various caliber.

I am a better world builder than a GM honestly I made a whole sector and it is pretty much your guys playground now. I could have had you off on your own doing your own adventure but as a GM I like having the group together as much as possible naturally and saw an easy opportunity to get the group together early on and experience one of my most epic events I have planned early on while simply writing off your character as having been taking a kind of serpentine route through the mid hive, not getting too close to the battle but also not heading back to the lower hive yet.

So that's why. Was kind of wondering why the post was assuming that she was heading downwards intentionally.

while they enjoyed an action filled escape as khornate cultists fought against arbites and imperial guardsmen all around them as they fought desperately to escape collapsing buildings, gunship strafing runs, and fought battles against droves of enemies of various caliber.

And I'm going to be honest.

That just sounds like you're trying to ensure we die before actually doing anything.

I do not intend it to mean you all will die, you guys can take care of yourselves however there needs to be some sense of danger. It is entirely possible one or more of you can die, that is the nature of the lethality of the WH40K RPGs I am not allowing crits by basic level enemies though so you guys do not need to worry about a stray lasbolt killing one of you.

If you really think I am trying to kill you guys off let's take your character and put it head to head against one of your fiercer early game foes, an arbite.

Are these guys scary? Absolutely, they are going to make mince meat out of your standard cultist and their officers carry power mauls and bolt pistols but this is not meant to be some pushover campaign with light weights you guys are the chosen of the dark gods and end goals for some of you are freaking galactic level damage. Out of the group you are one of the less combat oriented of the group but let's see if you went head to head with an arbite because for some reason you were not able to prepare for him ahead of time.

Your agility with your nice little talent mean you probably act first. Arbites are tough bastards so I imagine you are going to overcharge your gun. Let's say you hit the chest TB 4, carapace is 6 and the shield is another 4 so reducing your damage by 14 before pen. You get a 6 on your damage roll, so that is 6+3+2 with 2 pen. 11 Damage but he still has 12 damage reduction even with your pen, it does nothing so you toss you gun aside.

His turn now, he fires his shotgun at you, he rolls a 6 also, 10 damage with no pen your TB and AP eat that up so now he tosses aside his shotgun seeing it as useless.

Your turn again, you take out your power axe and hit him with it. 6+7+3=16 pen 6. You hit that shield again but oh wait, power axe, so you cleave straight though it into his armor and negate another 2 from his armor, he reduces the damage by 8 so he only takes, 8 damage and is at 3 wounds now.

Arbite turn 2 he takes a swing at you with his shock maul 6+4+4=14 pen 0. Your armor and TB reduce that to 2 and he dies next turn

Using averages against two arbites you lose 8 wounds and kill both and against three you would lose but not before killing 2 of them. This is disregarding everything but the most basic information and is not taking into account if you strike their head or parry one of their weapons thus destroying it with your power axe.

You are one of the least combat oriented and can take down some of the best enemies you can expect to face on this world Muse and friends would cut her way through a squad with relative ease

More stuff like 'collapsing buildings' and the gunships, where it comes down to, for instance 'agility roll or flattened'. Huge environmental damage.

And I shall endeavour to rectify my lack of combat ability in the future. By, for instance, getting power armour one way or the other. XD

As long as you guys act competently you should not die to something like a collapsing building, I will be sure to make your deaths sufficiently spectacular if they happen.

Also being new to this whole thing I guess I should ask if we would be facing against multiple enemies at once? Sorta like the example you just gave, but the three of us Tzeentchians against say multiple arbites/guardsmen/etc?

Who or what you face if anything depends on your actions. It is entirely possible to evade all through various means such as just plain stealth or you could possibly disguise yourselves in some way if you choose. You can also silence patrols you encounter rapidly and try to directly evade pursuit. Your ultimate goal is either to take over the planet or escape it and head out to some of the chaos aligned worlds.

That reminds me, i will have up a list of major chaos worlds in a bit.

edit: My page with all the worlds is gone so I am rewriting.

I consider taking over the world to only be a distraction from the real reason this place is any good. :P

I am sure it will get interesting once your findings are more thoroughly explored.
