Name: Celeste Robillard
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Height: 5’6”
Job: Pirate
Title: Quartermaster
Personality: As quartermaster Celeste has to be tough. Celeste was naïve and simple once. That day has long past. Now she is bitter and cynical. She has become lewd, crude and is often times rude but she can assume the airs of nobility if there is need.
History: Celeste was once a noble woman in France, married to a baron at sixteen years of age. They lived as husband and wife for a few years before the baron's master-at-arms tried to take both the baron's life, title and wife. It turned out that the master-at-arms thought that the lessons in swordsmanship Celeste had requested was a ruse so she could be with the person she really wanted to be with. Celeste, during the battle fell from the castle to the waves below.
Since then, with her husband dead she took a position on the first ship she came across after proving that she could hold her own with a sword and became a pirate. Her academic upbringing made her something of a rarity and had her an officer in no time. She can read! She can navigate using a sextant and she's almost mastered the art of the sail. She still has to think about how to set the sails according to the wind but doesn't have that instinctive grasp yet.
As quartermaster Celeste serves a function much like a "union boss". She represents the crew and protects their interests against the possibility of the captain taking advantage of them. Generally, the quartermaster repeats the orders the captain gives and ensures they are carried out. Her echo of the captain's orders explicitly tells the crew that all is well. If the captain tries anything funny... like keeping too much of the treasure or leaving port without enough food to ensure the crew's survival then the quartermaster stops repeating the captain's orders and the crew, the crew simply stops.
Weapons of choice or other necessary equipment: Celeste prefers the pistol and when going into battle she has four of them attached to the small of her back, two in her hand and a thin rapier at hip. Generally she prefers to stand back, give orders and watch the enemy for any surprises, rather than run up and start fighting.
