Charlotte stood by the vending machine, pondering for a moment, lost in thought. After a moment or so, she dug a few coins out of her pocket and pushed them into the machine, pressing a few buttons and letting her choice fall down, grabbing the water bottle after it landed. Smiling to herself, she unscrewed the cap and took a deep swig of the icy liquid, letting it run down her throat, soothing the dryness forming from the nerves she felt. Turning around, she made her way to her locker, grabbing a few books, ensuring her personal notebook was included in the pile, hoping she got the chance to spend a few moments collecting her thoughts or the chance to work on some creative writing.

"Who are you?" A voice spoke out, causing Charlotte to jump suddenly where she stood. Shutting the locker, she turned out, eyes meeting the taller girl's as she gazed upon her. "I'm talking to you, you need to answer me NOW!" She demanded, stomping her foot on the ground in a childish manner. Inwardly, Charlotte wanted to laugh at the other girl's actions, put in mind of a toddler having a tantrum. Instead, she kept the giggles buried, opting to give a friendly smile instead.

"My name is Charlotte. I'm new.. obviously. And your name is?" Charlotte offered a way to try and seem friendly, though to be left alone would have suited her just fine at that moment in time. Not that she was anti-social, she just wanted to get to lesson on time.

"I'm Felicity. Now, I'm going to offer you a choice. You can be who you are SUPPOSED to be, or keep up the act you have." The taller girl spoke in a dangerous tone, and the implications struck Charlotte like a runaway freight train, but she knew the best option was to remain calm at that moment in time.

"I don't have a clue what you mean. I'm not hiding anything from anybody. I am who I am, nothing more, nothing less." Charlotte felt her wall quaver under the imposing glare, and the next sentence sent chills through her spine.

"I know you are a boy. I have connections in other towns, and this town is small, my dear. Be careful, or this secret might get out." Felicity purred, smirking coldly at her.

"Oh, piss off you overgrown Barbie doll." Charlotte snapped, mentally kicking herself as the girl clicked her fingers, two of her "friends" appearing by her side, one making a motion to punch Charlotte, which the girl dodged, only to be hit in the gut by the other female, the two attackers flanking Felicity once more.

A loud, angry sigh could be heard throughout the library. Ginny sat at one of the computers, trying to write her paper. "I don't get it!" She yelled, letting her head fall to the desk. She could hear the librarian tell her to be quiet, only making her frustration grow.

I'm probably on my freaking period...

She closed her eyes, tears threatening to fall. Why did MLA format have to be so confusing? It didn't make a lick of sense to her and she was ready to give up and take the zero. She sighed, deciding she'd just work on it another day. She needed to get up and get back to her room anyway. No doubt her roommate was doing something stupid. She turned off the computer, grabbed her thumb-drive and stashed it in her pocket.

It was a nice day outside, campus was littered with students outside playing games, sunbathing, doing the usual things. She pulled the sleeves of her jacket down with her hands, a nervous twitched she'd developed over the years. She didn't like wearing short sleeves... She walked across campus, the wind blowing her hair across her face pissing her off.

One day, I'm going to just cut it all off.

As she walked, she noticed something going on in Maxwell. Near one of the windows a bunch of girls all stood doing something. Probably something stupid... Ginny's eyes narrowed, her annoyance already growing.

I hate people...

Her eyes popped back open when she noticed one girl throwing a punch. "What? What is this, Middle School?!" She shouted aloud. She felt her chest well up with anger and she shook her head. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed the local campus police.

Ring...

Ring...

Ring...

Ugh. Hurry up and pick up! Sleaze-bags.

Ri-

"Hello, New Harren College Campus Police. What can I do for you?" A man greeted her, finally picking up.

"Yes, I'd like to report a fight in Maxwell." She replied curtly, her tone a bit sharp.

"We'll be there as soon as we can." He said, hanging up.

You'd better be...

She huffed, letting out a bit of steam as she walked up towards the building. She wanted to see how they resolved this and she also wanted to be there for the poor soul being beaten. Or should she? She stopped, pondering for a moment. Should she just back to her room? It really wasn't any of her business and definitely not anything she needed to get involved in. It wasn't like she'd be much help anyway. She turned in the direction of her dorm and began walking. But... What if my words save their life?

Ugh...

She turned around in her place and eyed the building.

Damn my conscious.

She took in a deep breath and walked over toward the building just in time to see the campus police drive up in their golf cart, all six of them. She rolled her eyes but smiled at them as they walked inside. She walked in behind him, making sure they didn't see. While they were distracting the girls throwing punches, Ginny swiftly swooped in a grabbed the person being assaulted and pulled her into another room.

Once they were in the room, she turned to the girl, her eyes warm and caring. "Sorry, I just wanted to get you out of there as soon as I could. When they finish up, we'll go out so they can treat you." She told her, her chest tensing up. She hadn't realized how tense this would be. What kind of words could she offer this girl? What words would make a difference? "Just sit and relax for now... I'll be here..." She told her and sent her a big smile, trying her hardest.

Charlotte stood up as Ginny grabbed her, stumbling slightly as she followed the girl into the room, a small smile on her lips. "I think I'm okay, thanks." She replied, siting down on the chair opposite her. "I hurt, though." She admitted, raising a hand to gingerly touch her broken nose. "Yeah, I thought so.." The purple haired girl grinned at Ginny, the shock on the scene having not set in quite yet. Sighing, the girl picked up her cell phone, opening up the text she just got. Ignoring it, she shoved her cell back into her bag. "I was lucky you stepped in for me, I might have been so much worse off.."

"How does my makeup look?" She looked up at her, as if trying to keep her mind off the attack on her. The girl's make up had run, mixing with blood, tears and the like, though the minimum amount she wore meant it looked fixable with some help.

"I'm glad I saw." She replied, walking over closer to her. Ginny, with a warm smile, bent down, pulling her hair out of her face and looked at the girl's face, studying her face. "Personally, I don't think you need makeup. But, it looks fine. If you want me to fix it up for you, I'd be happy to do so. Though..." She sent the girl an awkward smile. "I'm not very good at it. I'm not exactly the 'makeup' type of girl. I prefer to just be... comfortable, yanno?" She continued, sitting down next to her.

"So, what's your major? I'm an English Major. You know, the standard fall back for most female college students." She continued, laughing. She pulled her legs up into a crisscross on the desk and pulled her hair over to one shoulder. "It's not like I'm really good enough to do anything else. But still, I like writing. It's fun and it lets me say things I wouldn't normally say out loud." She told the girl, trying to help the conversation away from what just happened. She didn't really need to dwell on it anyway. Females were like that sometimes and most of them were two-faced and not worth anyone's time.
