In the 14th century (granted far ahead in terms of era than the presented date) the area covered by modern-day France (the Kingdoms of France and Burgundy respectively) was the densest of all of Europe at 17 million.
On the other hand, the
Grand Duchy of Lithuania had a total of 4 million individuals, at a density of 5 per square kilometer, representing probably the low-end of the population spectrum. And at the time of the Magyar invasion, the Carpathian Basin and present-day Hungary was home to a few-hundred thousand people, mostly Slavs.
