Player Name: HenryJonesJr
Character: Bigby Wolf
Power and Abilities: As the son of the North Wind and the wolf Winter, Bigby has some significant powers. His lineage allows him the fabled “huff and puff’ great gust in his wolf form, and slight control over the winds in his human form. As the son of a great wolf, he is able to transform between human and wolf, and any form in between. His wolf side also gives him extremely heightened senses. Due to this, Bigby is constantly smoking to help dull his perception of the world around him.
Bigby is also a Fable, and as such is virtually immortal as long as he is remembered in the Mundane world.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Character Notes [Established Rogues, NPCs, etc]:Snow White – The deputy mayor of Fabletown
Boy Blue – Bigby’s deputy
Cinderella – A seemingly vapid and shallow Fable, Cinderella is also one of Bigby’s secret spies.
Background and Story So Far:On Fables and the HomelandsFables, as they are known, are the beings that are physical representations of the fiction works of human history. It is unknown how their Universe came into being. It may have been from the sheer power of human imagination, though it could also be true that they always existed, their magics bringing their stories to the Mundane World. Whatever the reason, the Fables are an immortal race as long as humans pass on their tales and legends. They lived in a world much similar to ours, however it was kept in a state of olden times, and none of humanity's advanced technologies ever emerged there.
Becoming the Big Bad WolfBigby was born the runt to the great mother wolf Winter in a large litter. Bigby was picked on as a child by his brothers and sisters since they were so much bigger than he was. His mother, however, loved him best and always protected him from his siblings. His father, on the other hand, left almost immediately after the cubs were born. His nature as a Great Wind made him restless, and Bigby resented him for that. With his mother's health deteriorating, his siblings left in search of their father, but Bigby stayed. He comforted his mother as she died, and guarded her body from any trespassers until she was nothing but dust.
The loss of his mother drove Bigby into a spiral of depression and anger. Something snapped inside him and he vowed from that day he would no longer be the runt. From that day he would be the most feared creature in the Fable Homelands. He began a reign of terror in the forests of the European Homeworlds that would cause all who wandered through the trees to tremble in fear. He was known as the "Big Bad Wolf", a term that was once used to mock him by his brothers and sisters was now his own.
As the wolf, only a few Fables ever got the best of Bigby: The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. The Pigs managed to survive his great gust of breath in one of their houses, and the girl managed to outsmart him, something he never allowed again.
Rise of the Adversary and Gatekeeper By the time the great Adversary began he conquests of the Homelands, Bigby had carved out a section of forest that none dared traverse. That is, until the Adversary's troops began marching through. Their large numbers and indiscriminate slaughter of Fables Bigby viewed as his food source brought his ire, and he began hunting them instead. Unfortunately, their evil flesh tasted foul to the great wolf, angering him further. His anger drove him to oppose the Emperor and his minions in any way he could, making the once feared wolf into something of an antihero.
The wolf followed Frau Totenkinder, one of the great witches of the Homelands, to her secret portal to the Mundane World, learning of its hidden location. After that day, he began ferrying freed prisoners to it, allowing them a safe place away from the Adversary's grasp. It was during this time that he saved Snow White and her sister Rose Red, solidifying Snow's trust in the great beast.
His good deeds were not unnoticed, and he was approached by the great Robin Hood in secret. Robin knew the end of the war was coming, and he knew that the resistance would lose. He asked for Bigby's help in one final battle. The remaining refugees of the war were to be shuttled out of the final portal that remained active and in their hands, and a final stand was being set up to allow their safe passage. Bigby reluctantly agreed, knowing sooner or later the Adversary would find him and he would be killed. Might as well take as many of his forces with him as he could.
Battle of the Last CastleThe final castle and portal to the Mundane World sat on the shores of the European Homelands. As boats of refugees readied to take off towards the portal, the Emperor launched his great army in a great wave towards the castle, looking to crush his final opposition. Bigby led a cavalry charge into the flank of the great host, scattering the forces. Bigby killed countless of the Adversary's forces that day, and thanks to him many Fables were saved.
Unfortunately, he couldn't do enough to save all of them. The opposition was too strong, They overpowered the defenders, and the last refugee boat. But Bigby would not allow the Adversary to win, scooping as many of the Fables out of the water as he could and carrying them on his broad, furry back, he swam through the portal, closing it as he passed through.
On the other side, he deposited the Fables on the Mundane World's shores and disappeared into the forest yet again.
Becoming the LawFor nearly a century Bigby hunted in the Black Forest of Germany, spawning even more stories about himself. That changed when he got a visit from Snow White, the pretty princess he had saved countless years before in the Homelands. She told him of a community of their kind that had been set up in the American colonies, and they required a sheriff to keep the peace. Bigby initially refused, but relented due to the inexplicable bond he felt with the pretty girl.
He traveled across the sea and to what is now known as New York, taking the role of Sheriff in the area they called Fabletown. Bigby has held said post for over two hundred years.
But now, everything is about to change.
Sample Post (At least 3 well thought out paragraphs as well as some dialogue):Fabletown Sheriff's OfficeHe slid his chair over to the large cabinet behind his desk, swinging open the large, heavy, wooden doors. Inside were stacked cartons upon cartons of cigarettes. It didn't matter what brand, he didn't care. All he needed was the intoxicating smoke to drown out the flood of smells, sights, sounds, and thoughts of this world. Who would have thought the quaint, empty place he escaped to all those years ago would have become a sardine can in so short a time. Sure, it seemed like eons for the Mundanes, but a few hundred years were like a mere two decades to the Fables, if that.
Slipping a pack out of a carton and quickly lighting up a stick, he took a deep drag while his deputy sighed, "You know those things are bad for you, right?"
"They're bad for the Mundies, Blue," Bigby shook his head. "I've been smoking for nearly a century. It'll be fine."
"Well, they smell awful," Boy Blue coughed.
Before the wolf could answer, the Mad Hatter burst through the door to the sheriff's office, sweating profusely. He took off his oversized hat and began dabbing his large forehead with it, "S-s-sheriff! It's horrible!"
"Hatter, what are you doing here? I thought you lived on the farm," the wolf responded out of the side of his mouth not holding the cigarette.
"Had to come tell you! The March Hare...he's lost his head!"
